how?

MTBikerTim 08.05.2008 10:28 PM

I have a fairly low torque servo running the brakes but it works well enough to make the heavy savage endo. I am using a very short servo horn though and the roll bar will be in the way of the linkage so it would need to be bent and that will act like a spring so the brakes will not work as well which will mean I will land on my back side more. It's a catch 22.

ahhh got ya, yeah my mechanical breaks suck at the moment, i need to redo my linkage, so a longer servo horn will prevent the need to bend the linkage?

ill try and get some pics of the completed rig up soon...you can then see my horrible brake setup lol

Yeah a longer servo horn would fix it or at least will require less bending. Problem with a longer servo horn is it will need a higher torque servo to get the same amount of power to the brakes.

dp try 18/46 gearing. everythign runs extremely cool and it is cray fast. Not sure on actual top end but i can rarely get it to WOT

dpb318 08.06.2008 10:14 AM

18/46=2.55
20/49=2.45 (current)
20/52=2.6

wouldnt i have more of a change if i went to 20/52? it seems to me that my 20/49 is wayy to high, what motor and battery are you running bl-is-future?

dpb318 08.08.2008 08:10 PM

ok so i changed my gearing to 20/52 and the temps got to about 165 in 10 minutes of running on loose sand...since the sand was lose the tires were spinning a bit so that may have made the temp go up a bit...but it still seems warm to me...the esc and battery were fine temp wise. is there a better gearing i can try for lowering the motor temp?

I have one question, are you guys still using the stock two speed savage tranny? and how has it been holding up when it shifts?

BitHed 01.08.2009 10:21 PM

...love that paint-job...does it still fit the extended chassis?
