nbcaznmaster 11.12.2005 11:09 PM

i am soo jelous...wish that body came with my hv-maxx Put ur 40 seires spinners on!!

Sylvester 11.13.2005 10:47 AM

Thats nice, looks like a monster! But it looks a bit dirty...:P

coolhandcountry 11.13.2005 11:05 AM

No need to clean it up. It is going to get bashed and thrashed today. Put my 9xl on it with 14 cells. I going to test the drive train out. I see if the mgt will fly as well. :D

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 11:42 AM

VIDS!!!!

crazyjr 11.13.2005 04:34 PM

Cool. The XL should be sick in that thing

Dafni 11.13.2005 04:45 PM

Nice Monster! Looks mean.

Those wide wheels need a serious servo, coolhand. Also, maybe a stiffer servo saver setup.

Let us know how it runs on the 9XL/14cell combo.

coolhandcountry 11.13.2005 07:02 PM

Well I was mad. I got to the house and tried to go and nothing. Then I had power and lost it again. I figured out the wire to the receiver was not going down in the receiver far enought to make good connection. I have to get that straight be fore test run. oh well it happens right. :D

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 07:08 PM

good luck tom! VIDSS!!!! i wanna see this in action.

Dafni 11.14.2005 03:08 AM

Who's tom?

nbcaznmaster 11.14.2005 07:40 AM

i meant TOMmorrow..... as in, good luck next time when he drives it... Its young kid's slang, you wouldn't understand. llol j/p.

coolhandcountry 01.09.2006 09:48 AM

Well I came across a deal. I traded my mgt off. I am now a proud new owner of another gmaxx. :D I got all kinds of aluminum stuff to. I have to put the truck together. I may sell some of the stuff off for some different aluminum stuff. ;) Well I post some pics later when it gets done.

Well upon farther running with the mgt I built since it was traded to my brother made me miss my mgt. I got one off of joe ( aka batfish ). I have converted #2 to a brushless beast. I have built and designed this one a little different. This one has a lower cog and seems to handle better because of it.

MGT with gmaxx chassis.... i like it!

Mike.L 04.21.2006 10:20 PM

ya kinda reminds me of a e-maxx even thought its not. but similar in aperance;)

coolhandcountry 04.22.2006 08:31 AM

It is not a gmaxx chassis. It is only two gmaxx plates add to the chassis. I was thinking of a complete machined chassis close to this design. I have part of it drawed up. I need to finish a few things on it first. I don't know how it will sell or if it would sell if made a few extras. I asked mike if he would sell them for me as well.

Sylvester 04.22.2006 08:43 AM

Yea, i know , i saw the custom plates, not the prettyiest but im sure they do the job!

coolhandcountry 04.23.2006 12:41 PM

That is why they are not the pretties. I am trying to get an idea of where to place the batteries and what is needed to mount the servos. My orginal servo mounting was not good so had to make some other spacer to put on them. I need to get back to the design board so can get closer to production of it.

Sylvester 04.23.2006 12:54 PM

I see that your pretty into this project, whats the reason you like the mgt soo much?

coolhandcountry 04.23.2006 01:48 PM

Well it is tough, good suspension, and has good diffs from factory. It is remarkibly like a maxx but better built from factory.

Gustav 04.23.2006 01:48 PM

Sould make for a great allrounder 1/8 electric MT.Good for bashing but with good handling so could make a racer too.

Maybe the x-brace could work with the MGT too, with a different set of plates like with the revo.

Sylvester 04.23.2006 01:54 PM

Yea, it wouldnt be any harder than the revo chassis for sure!

coolhandcountry 04.23.2006 02:06 PM

I not sure. The top arms mount to the chassis and the bottom mounts to the diff housing. It has a hybird type diff housing in it all ready. My brother has not broken anything in the other mgt I converted. He is running a 9xl on a 7020 esc to. 14-16 cells. I want to design a lower cog like i got going for awesome bashing and better handling. I have a design almost drawed up. I am was thinking of sticking with the one piece solid chassis design like the stocker. One of the strongest chassis I have seen.

Update

I decided to up date. I decided to change to a center diff. I want to get a better mounts made. I just testing to see and make sure it is cool. The handling is better. Wheelies gone. It seems to have fair speed. So fair I would say it is a sucess. Attachment 1623

Wow, that's nice. Do most buggy use the same size diff and mounts? If so, Mike should sell these on his store! They look relatively simply to make and look quite strong. Although, personally, I'd like to see some taps so the tops of the mount could be connected together for strength - like how the stock mounts are made. While he's at it, a side-mount could be designed too. I might see if I can order these myself.

BTW: the last link doesn't seem to be valid...

coolhandcountry 09.24.2006 04:32 PM

Thatis why i put the brace on back side. I think it would bolt on a buggy pretty easy. it is a ofna buggy diff in it. I test run it today. It works alot better than the last one. Ran it with half wore out spur and it didn't strip. It seems to move pretty good though.

BlackedOutREVO 09.24.2006 04:44 PM

man thats soo cool i want to have all these cars trucks and buggies sooo bad thats a cool converion then u could put the 6x6x6 kit on and that would be the only one so far hehe

BrianG 09.24.2006 04:59 PM

Yeah, I see about the brace now. I think for buggies, it would need bolt taps on the sides or something to keep them from flexing apart. How would I go about having Mike make me a set? Do you have any design plans, CNC code, or something?

Serum 09.24.2006 05:02 PM

E-machineshop files.

coolhandcountry 09.24.2006 05:11 PM

Mike has the file. He can use it to do same design as what you see. Just ask him. He made a savage mount for some one off one of my designs to. :D I don't mind cause it helps every one out.

Serum 09.24.2006 05:12 PM

You still use emachineshop, right?
