Yea, the output is touching to the heat sink. Thought dremelling it, but have to think something else. It takes quite space, because it has wires on both ends..
|
Made something up.. It isnt pretty  but with zip ties it will do the job, I think..

Is there anykind of wheelie bar for g2r? Will the traxxas Erevo bar fit? I mean this http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...ccessories.htm
|
If you run the stock rear bumper, then the traxxas wheelie bar will fit fine. There are also a few available from places like Integy and Hotracing- try ebay.
|
Ok, Ty. I have the stock bumber. Gotta look those Integys too..
It seems that the post has attempt the delivery, but unfortunately nobody was home. Dang Mike is fast shipper :surprised: Just five days ago stuffs were in the US. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow from the stuffs  if anybody is interested  |
I have those same battery...works great.....
now start building :whip:  |
Nice! That would have felt so good to get that package and go through all of the new goodies :intello: Can't wait to see it finished.
|

I will start the build, but have to go now buy some more things... new solder gun, multi meter, digital caliper ruler, glue gun etc.. Just noticed that the motor is 9xl, even I told Mike I wanted 10xl. But it isnt so big deal, there was so much stuff that mistakes happens. Im happy now . And big thanks to Mike, he is great guy to deal with! |
Well they are worth it... 2mos now and about 15cycles, still feels like new...
|
More goodies :na:
Im not gonna rush on this project now, want to do quality job . But hopefully I get this beast running sometime next week. More pics coming soon.. http://lh4.ggpht.com/olbero/SNz6mI9n...0/IMG_0415.jpg |
Okay.. I started the build yesterday from the diffs and now got some problems. I got the diffs ready, used the stock revo diffs inner gears (with sealings) for the fastlanes inner cups and fastlanes plategear.
But the problem is now when I attach the diff into the integys outer diffcase with the fastlanes pinion gear the diff won't spin freely. Am I doing something wrong here? http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SOH5JROY...0/IMG_0420.jpg http://lh4.ggpht.com/olbero/SOH5JVPd...0/IMG_0422.jpg http://lh4.ggpht.com/olbero/SOH5JTgp...0/IMG_0425.jpg http://lh6.ggpht.com/olbero/SOH5JjoW...0/IMG_0426.jpg http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SOH5Jv2r...0/IMG_0429.jpg Edit: Found that the plategear has scratched the outer diff case http://lh5.ggpht.com/olbero/SOIAuXf5...0/IMG_0430.jpg |
Is this somekind of feature what will go off when the diff is break in?
Edit: I noticed that too if I place the stock revos diff pinion, it won't jam so much. Should I just put the diffs together and just drive 'em? Pls I need info really bad  |
Im tempted to say that the integy cases are to blame, but it looks like the metal FLM cup is a bit too long/deep, and has shifted the posistion of ring gear , so that it rubs the inside of the diff case. I take it those are the FLM cups for the 3905 spec diff internals?
|
Yes they are for 3905, the integys cases were the problem, thanks to Arct1k he told me to grind the anodize off the outer case. Just assembled the diffs and gave few spin with the drill and cleaned the crap out.
Now they work like a champ  <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/-n1YgvjYsQauW0VqcK1tUQ"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/olbero/SOPHUq5npXI/AAAAAAAAAhs/G9z9RlxuL1k/s288/IMG_0437.jpg" /></a><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/1YEyzu-Nhz5dQ1caFxxL2g"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/olbero/SOPHKubb_CI/AAAAAAAAAg4/DMXUgRj7Ar8/s288/IMG_0431.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/cJ3mA9kWpn4fGYUikuZ6mw"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/olbero/SOPHLAt5BOI/AAAAAAAAAiU/aJz1W22vfIQ/s288/IMG_0434.jpg" /></a><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/6Vks9mpTzS_pwfgNC54nyQ"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/olbero/SOPHUhX7yiI/AAAAAAAAAiM/HAXte042HRc/s288/IMG_0438.jpg" /></a> |
Wow, that must be pretty thick anodizing- glad it worked out okay.
|
nice build you got going there Hardstyle.:great:
May i ask, what is this http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s...rdstylepic.jpg |
Great - did you put a little grease on the ring gear?

Thanks! Rims are #3257 BLAST WHEEL CHROME With Hpi Phaltline tyres. And the down below are Team Infinitys Hex Wrenchs, very nice tools with cf handle..

Now when Im thinking more, It can be the ring gear too. It is a bit thicker than the revos stock one, but we are talking about 0,5mm-1mm. Even when I spinned the diff by hand in the outer case it got better and better..

Build Up
Got the truck in to this point. Tomorrow have to mount all the electrics + receiver mount.

That looks great. The annoying thing is I looked high & low for white shrink wrap suitable for covering my homebrew 6s A123 packs, but the closest I could get was clear, lol.
I not sure how you plan to hold the batts in place, but I opted to get another pair of gorillamaxx straps, so that I can synch the packs down into place basically, works really well. |
. Yes the packs are pretty stupid size, have to figure out how to safely secure 'em.. I have 2,4" dh bikes inner tube, thought using that somehow. Tomorrow we'll see. But have to think that double strap too, got any pics of it?
Edit: Nvm, looked to your topic, hehe. Quote:

Wiring
Okay, First of all I HATE SOLDERING, noticed that today when tryed to solder 4 wires to 1 dean
Here's the plan how I would do the wiring. Is there problems? Should I do something differently? <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/lvSUcmCRvmFknoLbCj4VTw"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SOaLXOtsCnI/AAAAAAAAAlM/mpJczFBHYTU/s800/Wiring.JPG" /></a> |
So if the Gorilla Max fits a Revo will it work for a Slayer?
|
What the...
What exactly is that thing in the middle- an eagle tree? A proper wiring diagram might be easier to understand, but I think that all looks fine except the BEC. The plug from the BEC needs its own plug on it that goes into the batt/aux slot on the Rx. The rx lead from the esc needs to plug into the throttle channel slot, minus the red wire. |
Quote:
|
Sorry for messy pic, yes its Eagle Tree V3. Didn't connect the receiver and bec for purpose..
I could also connect the batterys straight to the esc wires (two sets of wires) and I wouldn't need the extra harness lead + it would be easier to solder. But then the eagle tree will measure just one battery pack. Is it ok? |
Good question. I think you would need to have both packs running through the eagletree, otherwise it might create a slight bottle-neck and reduce the amount of amps that the connected pack could output, where as the other pack wouldnt be hindered. It looks perfectly clean and tidy with both packs going through the eagletree, so I wouldnt worry about it really.
|
Thanks, good point that bottle neck thing.
|
Did short testing today, not good. Huge gogging at startup. But when the tires are off the ground not so much.. It did the same thing with my emaxx with the same esc, could it be the esc or just bad solder? It just stutter when pulling a little of the trigger and the pinion go back and forth.
Pics, surprise surprise  <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/0m8c8tjlDRBJ8pQSK86nig"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHAL17CII/AAAAAAAAAnQ/pozvR3NNZt4/s400/IMG_0462.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/dpoJEt4jecuy5bFhtwIICg"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHAJ2zz0I/AAAAAAAAAlY/KwFNmH9r9W4/s400/IMG_0463.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/HMDfOf623IPFq87BFNjQWA"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHAV0PBjI/AAAAAAAAAnU/1Dr-XR3NFO0/s400/IMG_0464.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/SbCYPP1JeJK6NsHqt9CgnQ"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHAYx8X1I/AAAAAAAAAnY/paGBWRwRAK8/s400/IMG_0465.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/vDKeKxdlIMJU-doWFyhpbA"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHATAQ0rI/AAAAAAAAAnc/8ODqjwv3IGU/s400/IMG_0466.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/DuQSJ66ArWRmZ03T7r5ndA"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHPABi_7I/AAAAAAAAAl8/5PLjVLsnqsM/s400/IMG_0467.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/NfFzPGWaniLIl4DXlVDKQw"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHPj4ebtI/AAAAAAAAAng/zQVCDkJOtYM/s400/IMG_0468.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/223-vFZrR0DD9aVShDOrTg"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHP35dBTI/AAAAAAAAAmM/nJMiPs8aW2o/s400/IMG_0469.jpg" /></a> |

What gearing are you running currently (that may have an effect on start-up cogging), and make certain the driveline is free and smooth.
Assuming all your solder joints are fine, leave out the eagletree and try running the batts directly to the esc, and see if that makes a difference. Im none too familiar with that esc, but you may have to tweak the settings on the radio and the programming options for start power to reduce the cogging effect. Good luck. |
Gearing is now 16/51 Only have 16,18 & 20 pinions and all spurs are 51t. Driveline is smooth just the spur is little oblique..
I did the test without Eagle Tree. Im quite sure its the solder joints, what's causing it, Im not good at soldering, hehe. How do I know when the solder joint is good ? 4 wires to 1 dean isn't piece of cake  |
Interesting battery straps - How easy is it to remove the batteries and how securely does it hold them in?
|
I didnt even notice the new straps- bike inner tubes. That stuff is fairly tuff, and not too stretchy, so I guess it will work quite well; a single width-ways strap might be a good idea though.
|
Yes those are from DH bikes inner tubes, tuff stuff and durable.. Had to cut 'em half cause it was too hard to get the battery between. It's rather easy to remove, attaching is little difficult though, but I think it will stretch out a bit still.
I think that the batterys are the last parts that I have to worry about now, we'll see if Im able to get the truck into some bashing action  |
DH bikes? from a motorbike or a mountain bike - I think I might try this....
The gorillamaxx straps are a pain with the 6s A123 packs... |
What I use is 24x2,4" wide mountain bike inner tube.
