Cold Fusion 10.29.2005 01:48 PM

Looking good, Nick.

A4DTM 10.30.2005 10:54 AM

andrew, you're going to kill me...
but.. how's this look?
http://img358.imageshack.us/img358/1...em103ev.th.jpg

it makes it look like some sort of bug.. but gives alot more electronics mounting space..

and if you don't kill me for that, what if I requested it machined out of gold?

http://img358.imageshack.us/img358/3...er264jh.th.jpg :)

Cold Fusion 10.30.2005 02:30 PM

*shakes his head*

Do you know what you're doing to the cost?

ja.. throwing it out the window :)
well I did NEED more surface mounting area.. and it looks oh so pretty now

coolhandcountry 10.30.2005 06:54 PM

I thought about getting an emaxx done up in gold plating. I think that would be like awesome. Even have the rims done up in gold. Do everything thing else in black.

squeeforever 10.30.2005 07:00 PM

coolhand, did you see the hardcore racing e-maxx they did in gold?

coolhandcountry 10.30.2005 07:09 PM

Nope sure didn't. I would have like to have seen that. I beat it was pretty.

squeeforever 10.30.2005 08:14 PM

well here ya go. http://www.rcnitro.com/cmhs/hcltd.jpg

coolhandcountry 10.30.2005 10:09 PM

Thanks squee. It looks pretty good. I think it should have been done a little different. It is still nice.

Cold Fusion 10.30.2005 10:12 PM

No one has an extra $250 they want to throw my way for a kit? (Yeah, business has been slow lately).

crazyjr 10.30.2005 10:26 PM

What kit?

Cold Fusion 10.30.2005 10:38 PM

The one nick has been showing renderings of.

crazyjr 10.30.2005 11:28 PM

Oh, ok. I wasn't thinking. That is a good idea, but i would go smaller on the motor and go with 3s lipo

you lost me at swingblinging :(
how's these looks? 1/8 shocks, and generic tires on hpi rims.. to scale :)

camel_rc 11.03.2005 07:55 PM

Looks pretty good. The 1/8 shocks work like a charm on the MT2.

A4DTM 11.08.2005 09:55 AM

updated.
http://s93886278.onlinehome.us/sv/in...=BLMT2_Renders

switched the C50XL for a Feigao 540C L..
http://s93886278.onlinehome.us/sv/BL...der47540cL.jpg

not completely done, but one more solidworks session and it should be ready to have the test parts cut, to make sure everything works how it should.. the main structure is done. just little detailing left, and one more small piece that will connect the rear diff. case to the rear brace...
also added a little more bracing on the top deck, as it holds the battery holders in place, so I can't allow for any weak points.

alot of friends see the pics and say "you should do this for a living".. so any rc companies need a modeler/designer? :)

A4DTM 11.09.2005 02:16 PM

bump because it's sexy nowhttp://img344.imageshack.us/img344/8...er540jz.th.jpg

just gotta finish making a few holes here and there, then the test pieces will be cut out of lexan to make sure everything lines up properly.

two screws will go through the top deck, the rear brace, and into the diffcase's holes.. no modifications needed to the stock diff cases :)

Cold Fusion 11.09.2005 09:21 PM

Looking good!

squeeforever 11.09.2005 09:40 PM

looks great! i would keep the carbon fiber upper deck for sure.

A4DTM 11.13.2005 08:50 PM

andrew apologizes for blurry pictures :)

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 09:06 PM

Dang, that is one detailed chassis. How long did it take u to make? IS there any pratical uses for the design or is it for looks?

A4DTM 11.13.2005 09:50 PM

?
just for looks? this chassis does what it needs to do.. will hold all my equiptment, and is designed to be unbelievably strong.. this chassis is not going to break. I'd bet everything I own on that statement..
as far as how long? um.. I started october,20th, so about a month.

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 10:22 PM

lol, for just the chassis? well, i bet it will be worth it when ur done.

Cold Fusion 11.13.2005 10:40 PM

Took me about 3 hours to machine the chassis. It would have gone faster if I had an automatic tool changer.

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 10:49 PM

Cool, u guys workign together? maybe u can help me make some custom revo parts....lol. I just need a battery tray and a rollbar outta aluminum.

CrazyPhantom 11.13.2005 11:00 PM

 OMG THAT LOOKS AMAZING:eek: GREAT JOB ANDREW, AND GREAT JOB ON DESIGNING NICK.

automatic tool changer, do I need to lend you money again?

Cold Fusion 11.13.2005 11:03 PM

Yeah, couple grand would do it.

Yeah, me and nick have been dreaming up stuff like this for a long time. Only recently have we have the capability to actually make the stuff though.

Sorry, I don't have the time to take on any more custom projects.

Xtreme R/C 11.14.2005 12:46 AM

What kind of mill do you have?

Cold Fusion 11.14.2005 12:49 AM

CNC Bridgeport Series II.

crazyjr 11.14.2005 09:27 AM

The green one is the best

CrazyPhantom 11.14.2005 06:38 PM

nbcaznmaster if you want great quality parts definately talk to Andrew (Cold Fusion Racing) He does amazing work.

but he has his hands full right now.

nbcaznmaster 11.28.2005 06:39 PM

omg...u bought from starluck rc!! WHY!?!?!?! how could U!!!!

MetalMan 11.28.2005 06:45 PM

Make sure that you use some larger wires. Those 16ga. ones won't hold much ;).

Serum 11.28.2005 06:48 PM

it can hardly be called a wire..

A4DTM 11.28.2005 08:04 PM

haha, yeah, I was amazed that they sell this controller w/ that wire.. I've got some Deans 12g.
