You might be able to use a budget 4 channel stick radio from a helicopter. Typically the left stick doesn't have a spring for vertical movement.
You'd obviously need to use a different stick for throttle though if you're using that one for the blade. |
The Van version was called "HeavyMetal" (tribute to the van gods of the 70's)and is vary rare. Goes for over $400 on E-Bay in good condition. The older ones used two 370 motors(one for each track) w/ twin ESC's and now they use one 540/550 and dual brakes. You can also do a few mods to the brakes and there are rubber covers for the tracks so they get traction on hard surfaces. One thing I've learned from other forums is if you spray Rain-X on the tracks, boggy wheels and body it doesn't get loaded with snow at all. I have been watching these for a while now and by Febuary I'll have one. A cheap brushless from HobbyKing should work nice.

do you guys running your blizzard this winter ? I thinked of running mine on 3s lipo with medusa 36-50-3300kv and mamba max esc...
|
I would running my blizzard this winter with a medusa 36-50-3300kv and a mamba max esc on 3s lipo geared for 10mph only I need to know im looking for lightweight lipo 3s battery do I still need a 75a to 90a discharge lipo for this low speed no risk to damage something with low discharge lipo like this one --->
Turnigy 3600mAh 3S 20C Lipo Pack ? |
I think something like that should be fine- a small motor geared really low really isnt going to pull much current at all. My only question would be does it need to be such a 'high' kv- gearing it so low makes me think it will be under worked and may heat up abit much, maybe something more like ~2000kv perhaps, or maybe just 2s lipo with the 3300kv motor?
Then again, how much do these vehicles weigh? |
ok thanks suicideneil
what kind of runtime do you get guys from your brushless blizzard ? |
