I ordered the tray already. so all thats left are front shocks and springs all around. need to go get some diff oils. i have a brand new chassis as well but am going to wait to see how it runs first and beat on it a bit as the chassis, center drive axles and rear drive cups are pretty worn from the guy i traded who told me the truck was in great shape. but ohh well. ill give it a few test runs to get a feel of the truck and then go to the new chassis and parts, got a steal of a deal on flea bay check this out http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ies%26_fvi%3D1 got 2 sets of center dive axles and a new spur just those were worth 2 times what i paid. and it all brand new i couldnt believe how nice it all was when i got it the other day and im gonna put what i dont want back on ebay AKA all the nitro stuff

Got the tray today from new era fits like a glove just had to bend out the one side. could not ask for a better bit. i installed it with servo tape and i am also going to drill and tap the frame to further secure it. still waiting on straps

That is close. A good crash might take that into the spur, and that steel gear could get through the tray and rip the lipo faster than you think. That would be bad. I had 2 screws tear out of mine after landing upside down and backwards, looped out on a jump, snapped wing mounts and a loose battery tray.I would try to get a little more room or get a 42t gear. That reciever tray is another lipo damage point.Better safe than sorry IMO. Looks good otherwise.

i have a mm and a half and its servo taped screwed and strapped so its not moving all four screws are tapped in.

riverat1540 12.04.2008 10:06 PM

jeremy, how strong is that battery box? i'm not sure if you ever saw my lsp run, but the two 90º aluminum pieces I used as my battery mount got bent pretty badly after a few hard crashes.. if it flexes ANY with your bare hands, i'd say it's too close to the spur.. I'd recommend the nylon spur as well. safer, quieter, and wears pinions less. I'll be home working all weekend, so hit me up on aim if you have any questions.

btw, looks sick. now I REALLY need to get my lsp back together haha.

riverat1540 12.06.2008 01:58 PM

well here it is 90 percent done just need new front shocks and springs all around, still waiting on center speed control mount. cant wait to take it for a spin

You will like it. I broke mine friday. About 20 out and landed bad. Boke the wing mounts and a rear hinge pin holder. Ordered some Kingheadz hinge pin holders. That may just cost me some a arms though. Just make sure the center diff oil is right. I use 30k and it seems good. Brushless needs a little thicker than nitro due to the instant tork they have.If it is to thin you will beat the front tires up quickly. Tell me how you like that battery after you run it. I'm running NeuEnergy 2s 4900s in series. 4s. I got the 2s so I can use them in my E Maxx and 3Ts but am thinking of getting some 4s packs.

riverat1540 12.07.2008 04:27 PM

i ran it today and its great. absolutely flies but needs heavier oil in the center as the fronts are doing too much work and its hard to even get the front end off the ground for long. didnt even get through a full battery before the pinion spun off and i coudnt find it so i will have to order another pinion before i can run more. ad yes it had locktite but i guess not enough. but it has lots of bottom end and is at least 50+ ran for about 15min and never got hot at all was running suprizingly cool.

Rnemhrd 12.08.2008 09:43 PM

Sweet. I just got another center diff and am going to try 50k oil in it. I'm using hyper st spider center diffs. they have 52t gears on them. They are quieter than the 62t (not sure why, still a steel gear) and give more clearence.http://cgi.ebay.com/OFNA-Ho-Bao-Hype...3A1%7C294%3A50

riverat1540 12.08.2008 10:55 PM

hmm i just blew my fron diff today i need stronger internals will the hotbodies hardened kit fit on my crossbars in my stock diffs?

riverat1540 12.08.2008 11:42 PM

never mind after syarting to take it apart i realized it was just the set screw on the front drive shaft, a much easier fix,lol

riverat1540 12.13.2008 12:38 PM

project complete runs great no complains runs cool even beating on it so far and more than happy with the speed geared 62-14 for around 57mph just need the snow to go away so i can stop running it on the road and wearinf out the tires faster than i thought possible. so thanks everyone and and any further tips would love to hear still have new x2 big bores with springs on order but im still running the crap shocks on the front and my make shift springs on the rear till i get the right stuff next week.

BL_RV0 12.13.2008 02:33 PM

Only advice i have is gear down..

riverat1540 12.13.2008 03:17 PM

well i dont think i will be doing that, lol, i love speed and dont always use it but its nice to have on reserve plus my temps are great. coolest running setup ive ever had motor is only warm to touch as of yet. plus if i wanted a slow truck i would have stayed with nitro!

BL_RV0 12.13.2008 04:42 PM

riverat1540 12.14.2008 10:47 PM

well heres a little update blew out the center diff and ordered a lsp hardened center diff, so i will have a 44th spur when i do lsp ring and pinion conversion i dont believe i had the whole duty of trashing the stock diff as much of the truck was heavily worn when i got but decided i would use this inconveniance as a reason to upgrade to a better gear set

riverat1540 03.30.2009 05:58 PM

another update, ditched the old beat up smelly nitro body and painted up a new crowd pleaser and even painted the evader to match for the girlfriend as it is now her truck since i got the crt thanks everyone for guiding to a great build
