I've got a Samsung 7.2mp s730 that I got new for like 80 bucks. It is a nice camera for the money. Takes great up close pics with macro and high quality pics otherwise. It can do High quality video. When I uploaded a video to youtube it turned out in high quality and I don't know but it might be HD now if I try. The one thing I don't like is the batteries. It takes AA's and even brand new rechargable ones last maybe 20 minutes on a good day.

It won't compare to a "real" camera, but if someone needs a cheap camera I recommend this one.

D90 with

18-55 VR
55-200 VR
50 f/1.4 AF
85 f/1.8 AF
55 f/2.8 Micro/Macro
28mm

Best part is that I can get almost 1000 pics on a charge. Depends on the conditions though.

And a Canon G9 and a fujifilm.

Here is a great review of the D40. This guy has owned tons of really expensive cameras, and he highly recommends the D40. He even has an online user guide for it in layman's terms.

Man, I searched for a deal everywhere for mine, but everyone was selling it for the same price: $449. I ended up buying it at a local shop just because it was close.

Sorry to threadjack!

jayjay283 01.12.2009 08:07 PM

Just a couple of mine...I could load tons of them, but this thread would never load.
The first is the wifes LR3 out in the badlands in eastern Montana, the butterfly is one of my "artsie" shots. The last is my dog hiding in the grass.

The picture is all about lighting...this isnt a cool picture, but I just thought I would show how good a pic can look, if the lighting is right. this picture was taken with my phone believe it or not.

Some phones have pretty decent cameras. But they really get bad in low light.

tuclai-
Is that a Devastator I see in your collection? Original or knock-off? I have a Japanese knock-off that is actually pretty cool!

Angry-Alien-
Absolutely beautiful pictures! I love Jamaica! I was married in Negril...yes a tourist, but we just loved the locale and the people! We will go back for sure someday!

Everyone-
These are great pictures that you all are posting, and it fun to look further into the lives of fellow forum members. Thanks all!

tuclai 01.13.2009 12:24 AM

Chachi_RC,

Thats OG Devastator there. I have every G1 figure made between 1982-1984. Basically those were the years when G1 TF's were good! Every figure in mint prestine condition!

I like your rig very much... What are you using to isolate you camera from vibrations, a Giro?

A friend of mine does a lot of aerial photography with a SlowStick brushless plane. He might be able to help you out. He sells all the stuff to do it at really reasonable prices too.

Just his "Contact Us" for his e-mail on that web page.

with still photography vibration is not a problem with high shutter speed and infinity focus u will always get good pics, but video is another story we used shocks to absorb the vibration :)
