Ahhhh, gotcha.

PedeBasher 01.25.2009 07:45 PM

Man, I know how you feel. I had 10 grand worth of flat screen TVs stolen right out of my beach house mere weeks after it was finished. They also ripped the TV mounts right out of the wall leaving nice gashes in nearly every wall. It was definatly an inside job.'

It must really suck to be the only one affected though. I hope you find who did it and give them what they deserve.

JERRY2KONE 01.25.2009 09:12 PM

Exactly.

I still give the shop my business, now if my vehicle is there over night they make sure it's one that gets put inside.

This is where you have to know how the law works. The sign says items left in car. That does not include anything installed in/on the car. I would have pushed them to cover the losses and if not sued them for it. That sign is an excuse for them not to have better security for their business. For the fact of having good ethical business practices and By law they have to protect the customers vehicles while on their property. No way I would have suffered losses on my behalf for their carelesness in poor security practices.

magman 01.25.2009 09:18 PM

I am truly sorry to hear of you losses. As you stated no one got hurt which in the end is the most imp't.
My parents live next to a house, unoccupied, where a couple recently died and one of the kids is a heroine addict. He is not welcome at the house, even before their death, and has managed to 3 times break in and steal family treasures for drug money. The world we live in is not safe these days.

I won't even mention the details, but, my 10yr. old daughter was solicited today.......I know all to well how f***ed up the world is!

Suddenly the plasma does not seem so important anymore. Protecting our children and loved ones is job one.

hoovhartid 01.25.2009 11:23 PM

I'm not a violent man....but if that was my 10 year old girl

i think i'd lose my mind.

JERRY2KONE 01.25.2009 11:44 PM

Me to.

Yea that would definitely drive any father nuts. I would really be trying to get to the bottom of that one quickly. Did you call the police and at least file a report. Any leads are better than none. Then I would begin doing some serious training with my daughter in order to make sure she has the tools she needs in order to protect herself and avoid further issues. luckily for us we live on a military base here in Korea, and we really do not have to worry about weirdos approaching our little princess. Little girls are so dingy and unaware of things goingon around them most of the time. My daughter can not even get off of the base(until she is 15) without one of us being with her, so security is not a factor. Our daughter just turned 10 and we have begun the talks about her behavior and flirtting as these can lead to problems. There are some very sick Fu*$%'s out there and we are never safe from harm. We have to take the lead and do our part to protect our kids and communicate these things with them in order to make them aware that dangers exist:diablo:.

t-maxxracer32 01.26.2009 03:02 AM

ya i cant really be too mad about the whole situation because none of my familys or anyone really got hurt.

i am very sorry to hear that about your 10 year old daughter.. i hope she really didnt know what was going on so she isn't all traumatized or anything

but heres a huge update for you guys.

they caught the guys who did it!!!

all the tips we gave them about the person we thought it was led them to find the guy!! he and his freind were seen and when the cops went to check there pockets and everything they found a check that was stolen from my dad!!!

so i hope that in a week the 2 Aholes will just tell the cops where the stuff is being held at.

i think things may work out pretty good.

we learned a HUGE LESSON!!!! secure your effin house!! this could have turned way worse than it did.

we should be getting a new security system installed soon.

also i am going to get a software that tracks everywhere my laptop goes justttt incase someone tries to steal it again!

thanks for all the support

JERRY2KONE 01.26.2009 03:15 AM

Sad situation.

It is a sad situation for sure, but good news for you that they are getting to the root of the promlem. The security system will help some, but there is more that you can do if you do a little research on how to protect yourself and your property. Congrats that things will turn out alright overall. You learned a valuable lesson through the trauma. Good luck with that.

Tempted 01.26.2009 03:41 AM

Hopefully the pieces of sea trash haven't unloaded all your stuff. If they have, you may be screwed indefinately. Insurance will refuse to pay it because they caught the guy but the guy won't have any money to pay for all the stuff so taking him to court will only land him in jail. And oh, by the way, he will have the money to make bail even though he didn't have the money to pay you. I know because that exact same thing happened to me. A drunk piece of monkey cum hit me in my 1983 Mailbu Wagon(for those that don't know, its a hard car to find and extremely cool when hot rodded) and ran. They caught the guy and he spent 7 days in jail before making bail yet he didn't have the money to pay for my damages. The insurance refused to pay anything but the basics so I lost out on a $15k car and got $988 from my insurance company. To top it all off, I bought the car back from insurance only to find out it magically disapeared from the lot it was towed to. The car, along with a few grand worth of stereo equipment, a $5k driveline, $2k paintjob, custom leather interior and all my personals was never seen by me again. I washed my hands of the state of Texas and moved back to Ga after all was said and done. The criminal justice system only seems to work for criminals. Cops are too lazy to get out of their air conditioned cars to walk into a drug house or whore house and actually do their job. I now take all crimes against my family, friends and I personally and make sure the criminal knows he has more than just the law "enforcment" to deal with. I don't leave anything in their hands anymore.

Thanks for the info TMR32 this just might encourage other to do something similar to protect their own property and loved ones. That last system really does look like something that we should all have watching over us. Nice job, and good luck with getting yourself setup, and with recovering your stuff quickly. You just might be lucky enough to get most of it returned. I am surely going to keep this info for us when we finally settle down in our retirement home in 2017.

i hope that when you find your home jerry nothing like this ever happens!!

couple things i learned from this experience.

-SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS!!! this is a huge one... you never know when you will need them so why not have a folder and just throw all your receipts in their.

-get lojack!
http://www.lojackforlaptops.com/ if i had this then there really would have been no problems!!

-have security for your house!! an alarm that sounds when someone opens a window, door, or anything that will tell the cops to come to the house. also security cameras will do work!! imagine just looking through the footage and seeing the person who did it without having all the trouble that we hadda go through.

have a great night everyone

Yeah...that's a good start. It doesn't hurt to have a loyal dog or two for when you are gone. And for when you are home...there other 2nd amendment resources that are certainly important in solidifying the sanctity of your home. It is paramount that the evil doers understand that they will leave your home with far less than that for which they came...if they are lucky enough to leave. Period.

E-Revonut 01.27.2009 12:37 AM

I entrust Glock, Remington, Ruger, and Winchester when it comes to my personal safety and well being. That along with about 2000 rounds of ammo! I assure you that if they get in they aren't leaving as long as I'm here. If I'm not home they better hope I don't find them, tee ball bats work well in that case!

I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to home security, we live in a secure complex, if they get in that the house has full security screens behind full roller shutters and double dead locks on the doors, and then if they get in, they can explain it to our guard dog, a Boxer / Lab cross who I have actually clocked at 55kph (I put the Navman X100 GPS on her collar :D )chasin down my rc car on an oval (she got it too, made a bloody mess of the shell!)

TDC57 01.27.2009 02:08 AM

That just BITES!!! I’m so sorry to hear that!.. But at least everyone in the family is OK..

P.S.
That’s why I have three dogs, Timer @ 180 lbs, frosty @ 110 lbs and angel @ 90 lbs or 300 lbs worth of dogs.. I pity the fool who enters my house uninvited!..:intello:

JERRY2KONE 01.27.2009 02:45 AM

What????

So are you telling us that they took cash out of your open safe, but left the gun? Or have they now got the gun in hand?? I personally do not like having guns in my home, but I do have three mini aluminum baseball bats scattered about the house just in case there is an intruder.

While we were in Brussels last year I was sitting in the living room one afternoon eating a late lunch about 3PM, and I heard a loud noise that got my attention. Low and behold there was some very large gentleman(230lbs) with an 18" screwdriver trying to pry our front door open. Luckily for us the US Embassy had previously installed triple deadbolt solid steel doors, mounted in a steel frame. I simply called the Marine gaurd at the Embassy and while watching him through the peephole began asking the man what he hope to achieve using the screwdriver, and informed him that if he did manage to get through the steel door that there was a nice surprize awaiting him. The guy nearly fell over not realizing that I was home upon starting on his quest, and bashed himself up pretty good trying to get down 6flights of stairs as quickly as he could, because the police were on their way up in the elevator. SO he ran directly into the local police and was arrested.

We always hope that nohting bad will happen to us, but the reality is that any of us can experience misfortune and we need to prepair for these dangers in order to protect our property and our lives.

TDC57 01.27.2009 03:14 AM

 Personally I don’t believe in guns in homes with kids!.. I grew up with them but that's just one of the adjustments I did with my family.. No guns at least not real one's

But my kids love shooting these every weekend..

t-maxxracer32 01.27.2009 03:29 AM

ya it was just a little 22 cal but still. would do some damage. they took the cash and the gun .

thats kind of a funny story jerry. even though it may have been a little creepy at the time looking back im sure it makes you laugh at how stupid he was

you have a very nice collection of guns shaun.

i think one of the best weapons would be a paintball gun.
imagine this..

an intruder walks into your house... you hear him and gear up your paintball gun... sneak up on the crook and start shooting the crap out of him. noone is tough enough to just suck up the pain of the gun and even try to shoot back. by the time you have run out of paint he will be on the ground wishing he never would have entered the house. thats when you make your move and start ground pounding the dumass!! eventually the cops will come and see him all colored up and bruised.

JERRY2KONE 01.27.2009 06:50 AM

Not only that.

Not only that but if he does manage to get free and escapes into the night, it will be kind of hard for him to get far without someone seeing him and calling the cops to report a weirdo prowler, or a cop spotting him and just asking him where is going looking like the dumbass that you described. Funny stuff for sure. That day when the guy tried to pry our front door open I was so worked up with adreneline it took like 6 hours for me to fully calm down. I was ready to smash the guys head in with one of our bats.

Hey, I think I linked you up with monoprice.com before for your HDMI cables, but thought I'd throw that out there for ya....save you A LOT over those overpriced Monster cables.

azjc 01.27.2009 09:51 AM

bluejeanscable also has some great prices on HDMI...the nice thing about digital is you either get the signal or you dont, buying a so called higher grade has no effect

Always be careful with weapons. They can very easily be used against you.
