I'd also love to see it get finished. Harold, good luck with the project! If anyone have any ideas for who (which organization) to donate this to, please post them up!
Back from the dead! I love building maxx trucks this will be a fun project for me! I've taken this project over guys, so I'm collecting maxx parts. I'm unsure mif I'll build it into a 3906 or a 3905, I guess the parts I receive will dictate that. I will build it and sell it and all the money will go to a childrens charity close to a well respected RCM member. I have a plan!
Hootie7159, Finnster, MrIccucci,- still have those maxx parts? All I receieved was 4 bulkheads, 1 diff, a chassis and chassis braces. If anybody has parts for a 3905 or 3906 maxx besides those mentioned above I'll take them. |
What happened to the rest of the parts that where donated? I know for a fact that there should be a set of titans in there! I'm on board again and will do some more to help.
Harold, was the chassis you received a 3905 or 3906? Please PM me with a PayPal address and your mailing address so I can help. |
its a 3905 chassis with al. braces, but I have a 3906 chassis with some trick al. battery hold downs, so I'll just have to see what happens for a tranny I guess to make that decision:yes:
Harold if you decide to make it a 3906 I got some chassis braces for one lying around, as well as 4 3906 shocks (brand new).
Harold I replied to your PM. I already got the rest of the stuff packed (4 shocks, crapload of springs, titan motors, battery hold downs, couple a-arms, alum diff collar, etc.) and I'll do my best to get my ass to the post office today....
cool. I'm excited to get this build started...
I'm excited to see it finished.
I have a brand new never run evx2 out of my 3905 Ill put in the project just pm me your address. All I ask is that you consider donating to http://www.shepherd.org/ they help tons of children and adults that suffer from spinal cord injuries and brain injuries throughout the US including my self and I'd love to help give a little back to them.
Instead of selling the maxx we could set it up like mine..Im a quadriplegic so my hands dont work....I use a cheep flight controler and have it set so the right stick does everything.....forward..rev..left..right.... I just use my palm to drive the truck with the controler in my lap... I think the kids would have a blast driving it in the gym there just on cheep nimh 6 cell packs....plus it will show them they can still do fun things ok my rant is over......its just an idea....either way Im in |
well guys.....
If I'm gonna build this and it's going to be associated with RCM in anyway it has to be done right. I'm talking LST diffs, possibly a CD, it's gotta be able to handle brushless power! I have a hyper7 CD I could mod in.... kinda hard from a wheelchair. So thats where I'm stuck atm. I need a tranny or something. Anybody wanna step up? |
I have 4 maximizer beadlocks, 3-17mm adapters, one stock bulk and lower arm to donate. I'll get them out to you Thursday, along with anything else I can find
Harold did you get the stuff I sent you?
Any progress on this?
Nope. Half the people that said they were going to send things didn't, and I thought the project was much farther along than it actually was when I took it on. I'm not sure what to do with it.
Those new era center braces were mine along with the 3905 chassis with 52 holes in it from dual vxl and the CF center skid.. That stuffs been travelling, I sent it to lincpimp a year ago.. no wonder companies are going out of business... BTW Haraold I spent 2 hours polishing those center brases with wd40 and scotch brite so you better lick them and tell me how they taste.. I notice the CF center dealy is missing..did punk sell it
tasted like chicken! Mmmm. Chicken. The carbon center skid is still there. I ground the braces a little to mock up a cd. I was wondering why there were so many holes in it!
Since this thread has been resurected I guess it's time to ask for maxx parts again. I have an ofna hyper 7 cd and lst diffs and hardware for this project. Needs are 2 17mm adapters, tires, and any maxx part you have laying around that might make this truck better. |
Help me out guys. Maxx parts. I supplied:
shock towers/ body posts a'arms/knuckles/bearings ti nturnbuckles LST diffs steering rack w/bearings skid plates f/r aluminum bumpers and mounts shocks w/ aluminum caps/springs Imex baja tires hardware jayjay supplied: chassis chassis braces alum. bulks? E-Revonut supplied: a sweet set of maximizer beadlocks It's got a decent start to a build. There are some more parts I need though, look deep into your parts buckets. These are all for 3906 style widemaxx arms and knucles on a 3905 chassis. New chassis, old arms: WHAT I NEED axles 17mm hubs (all 4) a tranny or cd mount (i have a hyper 7 cd to use) and driveshafts a body electronics (I have an 8xl?) what'ya think guys? I've got these parts here they may as well be put to use. |

Harold, maybe throw out a list of what you need?
I put up what I had, I didn't know you actually wanted me to send them. PM me if you actually need the parts. |

I was the one who donated those blue Golden Horizons aluminum bulkheads when Ian (BL_RV0) had it. Does it still have those? I'm pretty sure I sent him an EXV2 ESC (the yellow one) too, what happened with it?
yep, it's got the bulkheads, it's looking like it will be a decent truck.
wow, ten months of inactivity. This turned from a pif maxx to "Harold builds and sells a maxx for charity"
I absolutely appreciate the acquired donated parts, but my own financial contribution far overshadows anybody elses, and I'm disabled. And I'm doing the building. and spearheading the project. C'mon guys. A fire has really been lit because I've seen an entire PIF Baja 5b built in under 2 months: http://www.hpibajaforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=93680 I am going to finish this with or without help. (PLEASE HELP) The plan is to sell it via e-bay and give 100% of the sale to autism research, in honor of Lutach's beautiful daughter. Most need are- -esc -speedo -upgrade chassis???? -LST diffs to t-maxx bulkhead adapters (pics and dimensions below) http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...d_/adapter.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l..._/adapter1.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l..._/adapter2.jpg |
Glad to see this is back on track!
I think I have a partial rolling chassis (pretty much just the suspension) in my garage somewhere. I think it has Alu bulks and skids, traxxas big bores, outer cvds, but no chassis, I have some NIP Losi 420 size wheels and tires too I think... I'll check down there tonight when I'm home and post up what I have. Let's finish this! |
Alright, I just checked in the garage really quick, I'll get back in there later tonight to find the wheels and tires but I have:
(This si all USED but in good condition) Full set of 2.5 arms Front blue alu bulks Rear stock bulks Stock shock towers w/ short body posts Front and Rear diffs with diff cases MIP CVDs for all 4 arms including drive cups and everything Silver alu skids with mini RPM skids on top All 4 Turnbuckles (stock) Steering bellcrank (no posts though) Traxxas Big Bores with black springs And Knuckles with bearings So pretty much a good front and rear end of the truck, it just needs bumpers and a few other misc things to be a complete front/rear.. I may also have a 3905 tranny somewhere.. but I think a CD would be better if thats your plan. Once you get everything together I can probably help fabricate a mount as well. If you need any of those things let me know! I can send the whole thing over and you can include the spares in your auction as well. |
Awesome!!
What would you need out of all that stuff? Turns out I don't have the tires though :/
I'm not sure if this is plausible, but I'd be willing to donate a few bucks towards getting a 1518 or 1520 from the Castle sale, if others would too.
Harold, do you have a motor already?
I think he said he had an 8XL, which just won't do!
I have a Tekin T8 2000kv motor I could probably donate...

just sent castle an e-mail. Cross your fingers!!!!!

Yo H I can do the spacers, but something looks off on your 'print', is it just the .078 is proportionally off? I see they're thicker on the washer part on the diff pictures. I have LST diffs but no Maxx bulks to confirm dimensions, I do remember .813-.815 for the Maxx diameter, so as long as you're 100% on the dims.
And I assume 6061? |
Forgot I had Maxx diffs..... duh. Ok I got 1.275 on the face-to-face width of the Maxx diff, the LST f-t-f dim is 1.065, so 1.275 minus 1.065 is .210, split in half is .105. So if my math is right, your .078 needs to be .105. Look right?
I also forgot the .65" to .75" increase on the input end's diameter, choo gonna do about that punk?
