yes they need a motor for the slash

If they need a Beta-tester for the low KV CM36es I can test 2 of them to their limit

The current 4600 and 5700 with sidewinder are too hot for the slash setup even on 2S. 3000 would be about right as the VXL is 3500 and it seems to run cool and give lots of flexibility.

whitrzac 03.11.2009 04:49 PM

I never had any problems with a MM and 5700 in my slash... 30+min on the track at a time too

rhylsadar 03.11.2009 06:15 PM

sounds like interesting stuff is coming out from cc. nice!

i am astonished how many people seem to "apply" for this testing stuff.
rc is fun but if you have to write up everything, submit a "report" etc... sounds almost like "work" to me.

bye

whitrzac 03.11.2009 07:16 PM

soooo when are we going to find out?

can I update the "survay" that I filled out?
I now have a brushless hyper 7 with a novak HV 4.5...

whitrzac 03.15.2009 09:55 PM

soo who got picked??

phatmonk 03.16.2009 07:44 PM

They are probably allready choosen.Castle did say in their email they needed results in 2 weeks.

Rustler_Racer16 03.26.2009 10:11 PM

I'm ready to buy my Mamba Max Pro....

Results in 2 weeks from being received, is the way I took it.

An ESC like this will be very versatile.

It's going to be VERY interesting to pull it straight from a strong brushless setup, and see it give GREAT performance transplanted into a sensored setup.

phatmonk 03.27.2009 01:17 PM

I would put the MM Pro in my GTP with my TE Neu 1512/1.5 on 4s.My MMM handles this setup great. My GTP only weighs 10lbs so its pretty much a land rocket.I also have a Neu Castle 2650 motor that would work graet on 4s with the MM Pro in this car.

himalaya 03.29.2009 10:44 AM

So my question is, will CC make SENSORED MOTORS also ?

sikeston34m 04.03.2009 11:26 AM

Has anyone heard anything about this?

phatmonk 04.10.2009 09:39 PM

I think its a myth.

emaxxnitro 04.10.2009 10:06 PM

maybe the email was a castle system glitch?
i guess stay tuned...

phatmonk 04.18.2009 04:39 PM

Probably a fear tactic for the sensored ESC big guns.

castlemike 04.20.2009 06:04 PM

LOL.......they are actually out for BETA now.

castlemike 04.20.2009 06:38 PM

Hopefully soon........that's all I am allowed to say. :)

Is it safe to assume the Beta Testers have already been chosen for these AND the motors?

Nobody ever really updated us on this.

The motor BETA was Pat's baby......I have no clue what went where on those. The Mamba Max Pro BETA testers have been chosen and the controllers went out to them about a week ago.

V0RT3X 04.23.2009 11:22 AM

Hmm, I better wait before I rush into another MM system.

crazyjr 04.23.2009 11:31 AM

I can't wait, there will finally be an esc i can run on my GT conversion (1200kv 5s lipo) without a UBEC

snellemin 04.23.2009 11:43 AM

The MMPro is worth the wait.

Arct1k 04.23.2009 01:25 PM

Did this actually happen?

What did?

Arct1k 04.23.2009 02:50 PM

Beta testing for new castle phoenix ice and mamba max pro!!!!

snellemin 04.23.2009 02:53 PM

It's happening as we speak. It's not an urban legend, myth, old wife tale, or word on the street kinda thing.

Arct1k 04.23.2009 03:01 PM

Thats good to know even if I wasn't selected ;)

Man, that's bloody wrong. I thought you would be testing one too since you tested the 2200 and 2650 motors. Also after all the nice shirts you sent to Castle and all the nice stuff you said about the Castle products, they should've at least sent you one. I would've.

Arct1k 04.23.2009 04:34 PM

I just wanted to be clear for Castle I was never an offiicial "tester" of the motors. I recieved them in exchange for the 20+ T shirts I designed and sent over the Castle - I did provide some feedback on the them mainly temps and the play in the rotor.

I've got probably got the only 2650kv HPI version around as I never got sent the production version...

PS Let me know when you get that crawler setup - There is a big NJ scene you should come along...

Well, if I was in charge of the MM Pro beta test, you would have one.

The MM Pro is (in essence) 2/3 of a MMM... they share almost the same design -- except for:

The MM Pro has sensor input (and some cool stuff, like CHEAT* mode)
The MM Pro has adjustable BEC output voltage (.1V increment adjust from 5.0V - 7.0V)
The MM Pro has a much smaller footprint
The MM Pro has a smaller fan (25mm) that can be removed (For BrianG)

*Castle High Energy Advanced Timing -- gives a power boost for stock type sensored motors, with adjustable lead-in RPM

Arct1k 04.23.2009 07:01 PM

It will go perfectly in here some day... The MM and CC BEC work great though...

PS Who do i need to send a Pizza to for next time ;)

where i can buy this beast:whistle:

himalaya 04.24.2009 12:50 AM

Are you going to replace the original MM with the Pro? or they'll exist in parallel ?

i think they will keep the mm...and just add the mm-pro...(and maybe some other stuff and software)...castle offer a lot of product so with these new esc they will accomodate more guy's in racing...and me:whistle:

Arct1k 04.24.2009 11:31 AM

Sounds more like a Sidewinder Pro - i,e, sensored and and switching bec with funky s/w...

MM has been a good seller, it made CC in the car market but in reality is pretty squeezed between Sidewinder, MM Pro and MMM...

Given CC can knock them out easy enough they may continue them but there is a small, market now in reality - 1/10th can use a Sidewinder/MM Pro and 1/8th uses a MMM...

Sidewinder 70
MM Pro 105 (guess at street price)
MM 115
MMM 140

What senario would you buy a MM?

snellemin 04.24.2009 12:04 PM

With sensored you can have a higher rollout with any motor.
The use of 11000kv+ motors without startup issues is solved.
Dragracing is much more consistant.
The cheat mode, aka Boost or Turbo in other ESC's makes it possible for burst speeds at topend or at whatever rmp you which to set it at. Weak batteries need not to apply.
6S capable without mods.

johnrobholmes 04.24.2009 12:15 PM

I doubt they will keep the MM. It is hard to build, very labor intensive. If the Pro is at the same price with the same power but easier to build, why have both?

As much as I'd hate to see the MM go, I think you're right. The MM is tougher to make than most ESCs (which is part of the cost, unless they re-design it to be cheaper to build). It's pretty much the most robust and reliable ESC on the market. I've had 6 or 7 of them and they are worth every cent. If they could make them cheaper to build but not sacrifice any reliability or specs (maybe drop in new FETs that are better than the ones that are in it) that would be incredible.

MM is still going to be available for the foreseeable future. MM Pro is adding to the line, not replacing the MM.
