Most 1/5's dont traction roll. If its built well it will not traction roll. Plus most people do not jump them very high and most 1/5's arent very fast so body's tend to last awhile.

I know someone who is making a roll cage to support the savage 5T body and outriggers too just like a stock baja 5t and plans of the truck running around 50 mph. I do think the big trucks will still roll without a problem, not sure why they wouldn't.

I have a feeling that "somebody" with a savage 5t will be running it past 50mph, and will jump it too... That somebody will need a new body frequently...

The baja 5t and savage 5t are an exception...

body=scanned data of a HPI Baja 5T body
tires=losi super bolt ons (6.25 dia)
savage xl frame stretched 5.25 inches
looking for 216mm long front drive shaft
I will post more spy pics when I can......

Need to clarify, tires are in stock savage XL position on standard proline 40 series rims.
21.25 wheelbase, body has .25 inch clearance of the rear wheels when at full suspension travel up. Steering servo will be turned sideways to allow lipo placement in either front or behind tranny. So you can run 6s up front and 6s in rear at the same time if needed. lol Tranny will be FLUX until it explodes. Truck will also sport all 6 of the stock baja 5T body mounting hardware and full roll cage following the body profile with a .125 inch clearance.

Is that 1/5 scale? My LST is only 6mm shorter than that ugly thing?

doo540 03.15.2009 09:16 AM

21.25 is the WHEELBASE. Do you know what that means? I'm guessing not. An e-revo will fit between the front and rear tires. Not sure why you think its ugly, have you seen the sale figures on the HPI BAJA 5T? Its the same thing (on the outside). No offense but didn't they stop making the LST, and LST2.

I think he confused the wheelbase with overall length... Spy pics look good Tim, I wonder if "he" would whip up a shot looking down on the truck with the stock savage x track width. The xl is wider so the tires would not stick out as far with the savage x setup.

Looking good, I cannot wait to see the proto tvps...
