LOVE the Scorpion's

I can't say enough good things about the Scorpion LiPo packs and chargers when used on my E-Maxx. I got them at the end of the season and they really brough my truck alive. I posted a thread in the brushless forum with pix and all. Great stuff, plenty of volts for my 10L and 9L to haul my E-Maxx around. Also the LVC (which is a great safety feature) can be disabled (should not but if you are worrying... Also the charger is super smart. Balances, makes the packs happy and charges nice and safe. The light 3200 packs really help lower the weight of the truck which helps with accel and handling.

They are really wonderful - I'm very happy - try them and you will be too.

Sorry for the double post. They are also listing this power supply for the charger. Nice price.
If you wouldn't mind saving some cash and getting a higher amp-rated power supply, get this one:

You have to wire it yourself. It isn't hard to do, you just cut up a 3-wire cord (like the kind for a computer power supply) and screw the wire into the posts.

Does anyone know if FMA will custom make a Scorpion pack for you?
I like the idea of those "monster truck" packs, but would like to get a little more voltage to my 9L than the 14.8v of those monster truck packs.
For example, would I be able to run one 5s pack (one pack per speed controler for my dual setup?) I would particularly like a setup like that for my dual 9L Maxx because I am currently using 4 chargers to charge the 4 7cell Nimh packs that are in it now. And if I would be able to run two 5s packs(1 per motor/controler), that would eliminate 2 extra scorpion chargers that I would have to buy.
The 9L can handle up to 19.2v (16cells) can it not?
Please let me know how far out of wack my thinking is.:o or if it even made sense.
Thanks.

That would push the 9L a bit too much imo, (46000 rpm under load)

it will be hot for sure, you're better of with higher turn

I doubt if FMA makes a custum pack, they should consider making bigger balanced packs though, but i bet they are considering that..

For what you're asking, FMA makes the BalancePro HD lipo line now.
http://www.fmadirect.com/new_applica...shPG/index.htm
You can buy a single pack from 2s1p 7.4V 3200mah up to 6s3p 22.2V and 9600mah, with all of the benefits of the Scorpion system - up to 3C charge, 20C discharge, balancing, low-voltage cut-off.
They also say this in regards to BalancePro HD
"Additionally, custom BalancePro HD packs can be
configured to fit your individual needs.
Please contact our Technical Support team for
that special pack you have in mind."

The Scorpion packs are for the people who want "normal" voltage :)

"The Scorpion packs were tested up to 4 in series, making an 8S pack. There should be no limit in parallel configurations, keeping in mind current limitations of the connectors and wire. The ESC and receiver wires are daisy chained through each pack to ensure the LVC works on each pack. The charging must always be done on single pack disconnected from the system. This is due to the common ground of multiple chargers shorting stuff when connected to multiple series packs at the same time.

JOHNNYMAXXIMA - Did you see that the Scorpion packs could be wired up to 8S?

Batfish, the balance proHD packs don't have a LVC, but they have one for it seperately

Papa,
Have you made up your mind yet if you are going to get these or not?
