I'm ready for an RCM FLM Maxx CD/motor mount AND Slipperential whenever. Money is in the bank. Can't thank you enough Mike!!!

KMN 06.12.2009 12:53 PM

Any ETA at all?

Andrew32 06.22.2009 07:14 PM

started thinking, if its the slipperential in there, wont the gearing be all off? does that mean i have to get 1/8 dffs?

JERRY2KONE 06.22.2009 07:24 PM

Hey mike.

Hey MonsterMike and status on this project yet? I have two trucks just waiting on your new center diff/motor mount. A sort of sneak peak status update would be very cool Sir.

mkrusedc 06.22.2009 11:25 PM

What he /\/\/\ said ????????

Kcaz25 06.22.2009 11:56 PM

I know a V1 Slipper unit for a Maxx is about to go for around $400!!! Mike really should get the ball rolling. Just saying. And I sent another Email yesterday. No answer yet. He really doesn't say much AT ALL about this project. I read threads back in 2005 where he would post allll the time. Now we are lucky to get a sentence it seems. He is busy I know...

Kcaz25 06.28.2009 09:02 AM

Would this work on G3R?

I asked Mike about it and this was his response. "Our direct drive slipperential would require minor modification to the g3R chasis braces to allow it to sit low in between them."

I was wondering how close the motor would be to the shocks. Does anyone have this mount and a G3R?

Thanks, that was what I was thinking/wondering. I would worry about the shocks also even though you can turn it around. You could ask the posters who do have the parts individually to measure them then compare measurements.

If it was recently that you got intouch with him you must tell us(me) the secret. Old friend of his?

I sent him a email awhile ago, but that is all I got. I don't know him personaly, just from pestering him thru email. I sent a few other email asking more about the subject but havent hear anything else. I will let you know if I hear something. It would be cool if we had an update. Please.....

_paralyzed_ 07.03.2009 11:24 PM

everyone can start a bidding war on the one I have:lol:

zeropointbug 07.03.2009 11:47 PM

I haven't read the whole thread, but is this about Mike's new slipperential he has coming out?

I have been thinking about this for the E-revo chassis, but then I found that he doesn't even have any for sale? :oh:

Hey paralyzed, do you have a g3r that you can test this mount in?

it would not be bolt in. it would probably require grinding of the chassis rails(its wider than the rails, but depending on how it lines up you might not have to) and it would require mounting holes drilled in the chassis.

very doable, if you're a diy'er.

RC-Monster Mike 07.05.2009 10:00 AM

Mounting the direct drive Slipperential is tricky in the G2R/G3R trucks because of the limited space between the chassis rails - it is fairly easy to overcome this on the Maxx by simply lifting the diff up, but the revo has more challenges. The only way to do it IMO, is to mount it right behind the front shocks to allow room for the motor between the front and rear shock towers. This would require drilling some holes in the lower plate for mounting the bulks, as well as likely some grinding to fit the Slipperential spur between the braces.

I know some folks want this to happen, but I am buried in a few other projects at the moment. I need to try to get better at finishing one project before moving onto the next one(have a lot of things started, but not finished). :)

ANGRY-ALIEN 07.05.2009 10:23 AM

Appreciate the update Mike...

mkrusedc 07.05.2009 12:48 PM

Thanks Mike. We will wait. Just let us know when.

JERRY2KONE 07.05.2009 07:24 PM

Thanks mike.

Thank you Mike for at least stopping in to let us know what your status is. At least someone is busy making money during this downturn in the US economy.

:lol: More just to lend a small hand

feistyacorn 07.06.2009 10:22 AM

Thanks for the update Mike!

I got to thinking, would it be better to make special chassis rails? If the chassis rails were replaced all together there wouldnt be any problems, and you could even have a spot to mount a esc. I know its complex and most likely not worth it, but it would be cool.

Another production run of the old slipperential would be cool too...

suicideneil 07.06.2009 12:17 PM

That was my thinking a while back, having dedicated rails that have more clearance for the spur gear. Funny though, as thats kinda what the Candayman did with MaxxBling recently....

Skratch 07.12.2009 04:41 PM

Alright, well after finally being pointed to this thread and reading it through I am defiantly in when these come to the store.
I guess it's just gonna be a matter of finishing up everything else on the two trucks at the house till these come out.

I soooo can't wait.

ikeluo 07.25.2009 08:45 PM

I'd like be in the "waiting list".

Rivermaxx 07.27.2009 08:10 PM

+3 on that please dont leave us hangin.

Arct1k 07.27.2009 11:16 PM

Ok guys I spent a day at the shop with mike hanging and doing some fab... while I made some crawler links mike converted my G3R with the center mount...

The good news - In the end we fitted in a 48T spur so a 46T slipperential is not going to be an issue.

the bad news - This conversion took mike the best part of 3-4 hours to complete excluding strip down and rebuild... It involves a lot of tight measuring, jig set and machine recalibration... i can see why he doesn't like doing it. You basically get one shot at drilling the base chassis plate.

Pics up soon

feistyacorn 07.28.2009 10:28 AM

A G3R with a center diff mount!!!! Sweet!!!! I destroyed the gears in my stock emaxx tranny. A slipperential in a G3R will be awesome! I cant wait to see how it looks!

suicideneil 07.29.2009 08:00 PM

Arct1k 07.29.2009 10:27 PM

Yes I bent it already.... See hoe low it sits though!

Rivermaxx 07.29.2009 10:37 PM

How did you bend it?? maybe some 7075 billet is in order.

ANGRY-ALIEN 07.29.2009 10:38 PM

Nice... how did it perform... sure looks like you had a good time with it.

Arct1k 07.29.2009 10:45 PM

I drove - I crashed - the usual....

Works great - You basically now recreated a truggy with some extra clearance...

COG is VVVV low

_paralyzed_ 07.29.2009 11:45 PM

looks like I should support the back of my big kb45 before I run again. I've got ofna "diff lock" lube in the 8 spider center and it is wheelie city. Lighter fluid and this thing would be a rocket, but I like wheelies.:intello:

FWIW- Arct1k's setup is on a gorillamaxx. The FLM chassis as well as any other maxx chassis (if it fits the FLM it'll fit any original t or e maxx chassis, as the center skid it mounts on is the same on all 3) should be easier to produce, just the chassis needs minor material removed for the spur to clear.

I will be running in the next three weeks and hope to post video. The 1700kv kb45 was TOO MUCH on 6s, but that's what I've got so that's what I'll run. Anybody have a 5s they're willing to share?

JERRY2KONE 07.30.2009 12:19 AM

Play time.

Good to see you planning some play time Harold. Ah just keep the 6S in there. You know you love the power just like Tim Allen on tool time. MORE POWER!!!! You will get the hang of it after a few runs. And yes I would surely mod a support for your big motor before running it again.

Mike please just keep this thing as simple as possible for the Maxx trucks, and specialized just for one design. We have been waiting for this setup for a long time.

Amen to that I'll be put mine on a custom build any way I'll make the chassis fit the mount.

suicideneil 07.30.2009 12:59 PM

Vandal. Must have been one heck of a crash, especially given that the motor is so low beneath the line of the shock towers.

feistyacorn 07.30.2009 01:59 PM

:gasp: Looks sweet! How exactly does it mount to the G3R chassis? Could we see some top and bottom views?

Is it a new mount style or is it the emaxx center diff mount without the bottom plate? It would be cool if it was a universal mount that you could order with emaxx bottom plate or without gorillamaxx style. The gorillamaxx one could come with a drilling template or whatever is needed.

That sucks that you bent it. Hopefully you can get a replacement soon. Did Mike mention when he will mass produce?

Arct1k 07.30.2009 02:06 PM

Mass production as i mentioned is difficult - The mount attaches to the bottom chassis plate and is supported with the brace.

The issue if you have to drill your own chassis plate or sent it to mike (which then takes him a while to drill - 2 hours).

Andrew32 07.30.2009 02:15 PM

are we discussing the maxx or g3r or both?
