Good luck man! Make sure you get some video!

Going fast is fun. Us bashers need challenges, cause we do not have that "better driver" to beat on the track. I personally think a MM/2200 combo has enough ass to do 80, but maybe only a pass or 2 before the current draw will start causing problems. A 1527 will be the best bet, on 10-12s. That will stay cool, but you will need some good lipos to get the job done. Battery weight will be an issue, maybe something like the new thunderpower 40c packs, they are lower mah, but can handle high current demands.

I plan to do a stupid powerful 2 speed on road car myself. 1521 1y on 6s , geared to the moon, with 9000 30c worth of lipo. I have a feeling the fan on the MMM will stay on for a while...!!!

No one said 6s was ever too fast btw, the only reason people said that, is because everyone used 2000Kv plus Fiegao motors... which obviously, is too fast and hot for those motors.

"instead of saying how retarted it is, encourage the guy...geez ....jzmaxx did over 80 with one of the heaviest MT that's available. an 80mph truggy is definately do-able running cool."

Okay, you're right.... good luck man on getting to 80mph, hope you don't crash at those speeds and destroy all the expensive equipment in the truck.

Alright, instead of using different controllers, what about using twin motor system? Maybe dual MMM running 1512 Neu motors? Or maybe a better option, dual MMM running T8 motors? Like 6s on the Truggy 1550Kv model? That way, it's not overpowered, still has more than enough power to get to 80mph with wheelies, and will run relatively cool. Just another option.

i tried the dual MMM before, and i tore up the transmission badly in about 30 feet with the neus. it just had soooo much torque...even with 100% punch control.

twin feigaos had better results but i could never get it up to full speed. it was simply too much power for me. :surprised::yes:

here's a pic:

however, i agree with you. if i could have gotten it to work, i'm confident it had the power to do atleast 80.

I really do not see the issue with making trucks go fast. Forward weight distribution, low stance, very limited suspension (no droop) and a front wing should do the trick.

Something like the erevo body to make it more aerodynamic. At those speeds tire setup will be more critical than anything else.

Setting alot of neg expo on the radio will help with startup issues, and being careful with the throttle during the run as well.

Not saying that this would be anything other than a straight line vehicle and most likely good for a handful of passes at a time.

Do you need me to proof-read your posts before you post them? I can do this for a small fee...

Well heck, I just remembered, I did 65mph myself no problem with 7s2p A123, 1512 3D/Quark... the controllers was getting hot, but not thermaling, the motor was not getting hot (probably helped from the wind too), and the battery was only warm as well... sorry, don't have temps, lost my temp gun.

I agree...especially the front wing or splitter will make speed passes easier but limit the uses

Oh & linc, you got me too before it was taken down!

Thx guys, i feel more love now lol :D

I dont mind gearing it down to 65mph for everyday running and swap the gearing when i got the speed bug :), i have a good setup for truggies and revos for stability at higher speed, but i do like when you cant punch it, always on the edge of doing wheelies...

So my best options would be a HV110/pistix/Neu 1527/ good lipos 12s
or twin MMM/castle2200kv/ good lipos

Wich one would be lighter and more effective?

I can do the engine mount myself if needed by the way.

Heres a video of a 74mph run with my friend's E-revo, he is waiting for his new batteries that are better than the one in the vid (SMC 3400mah 18C)
I ordered him a set of 3S Polyquest 4500mah 30c.

We got 76mph 2-3 times now and a steady 75mph when batteries are full (differnt setup than the video...)

Thx guys!
