Which is under load viruss. all the motor's of BK are rated under load.

virusss 01.29.2006 03:24 PM

My motor is a lehner no BK

Dafni 01.29.2006 03:29 PM

1960rpm/V on 6S might be a bit too much! Especially for a buggy. You will not find a small enough pinion. 5S would be better, or even 4S.

Serum 01.29.2006 03:38 PM

LOL! BK is Lehner!

:p

virusss 01.29.2006 03:40 PM

Ops.. :)

serum what are you talking about? :032: :032:

Dafni 01.29.2006 05:45 PM

BK: Basically a 3 person company, manufactures BL ESCs, distribute cells (which they match ant zap themselfe) boat hulls and other RC goodies. They also get motors manufactured under their name.

Lehner: Renowed company, sell mainly their well-known motors now, but used to manufacture ESCs back in the day.

Only what I heard, guys. So don't hold me for this info. Others may know more, but they are certainly 2 different companies! No doubt.

boss 302 01.29.2006 05:52 PM

i dont know were serum heard that BK and Lehner were the same companies

Dafni 01.29.2006 05:58 PM

btw, Viruss, very nice buggy you have there!

squeeforever 01.29.2006 09:43 PM

im pretty sure that bk at least owns lehner....

reason i say that is because on the lehner motors is says lmt as does the instructions that came with my esc and if im not mistaken the old 9918 stickers had lmt on them. although i dont know what lmt stands for....

Dafni 01.30.2006 02:34 AM

LMT=Lehner Motoren Technik (Founded by Mr. Lehner)

Believe me, they are two different companies. Definitely.

boss 302 01.30.2006 08:06 AM

if BK owns Lehner why wouldnt they just combine and have one name?

MetalMan 01.30.2006 11:24 AM

I think Bk may have just taken up the Lehner line of controllers, which is why they said LMT on them.

Serum 01.30.2006 11:36 AM

I did not knew any better than they are on and the same company.. I thought that the lehner-motoren.de was just an old site of the BK site. LOL..

see, how easy i can be fooled..

You are right Daniel, i simple didn't knew better.

Phone numbers are different on their sites.. And on the lehner-motoren.de site, is the link of schulze even higher than the BK site... (which upset me even more than this , i was living in, for the past 5 years....)

RC-Monster Mike 01.30.2006 05:17 PM

Lehner and BK are indeed different companies. BK distributes Lehner motors, and they have a close relationship, but they are different companies.

Serum 01.30.2006 06:01 PM

One illusion down... ;)

thank you mike and maybe we can start talking about the buggy again but at least we got the BK Lehner thing figured out :026: :026:

RC-Monster Mike 01.31.2006 07:49 PM

Yes, lets talk buggy. It is a superb electric conversion, my friend! Superb!

boss 302 01.31.2006 08:57 PM

i agree it is nice

virusss 02.01.2006 04:59 AM

Thanks boys, I hope Sunday to make a beautiful video for you!!!

Hayden 06.19.2006 06:50 AM

Very nice virusss **jealous**:004:

btw how are the flightpower lipos? I have the choice of flightpower or Kokam what do you think?

virusss 06.19.2006 06:53 AM

Thanks Hayden, i Love the Flightpower, is fantastic battery...

MetalMan 06.19.2006 09:34 AM

Go with Flightpower!

captain harlock 06.19.2006 10:25 AM

I'm going with them, too!
BTW, MetalMan, can I use the 3s stay balancer from FlightPower with the Evo20 3s for charging in conjunction with the ThunderPower charger?
If that is possible, then my problem is surely solved.

MetalMan 06.19.2006 10:47 AM

I don't see why not, except that the balancer won't communicate with the TP charger, but otherwise will work fine.

captain harlock 06.19.2006 10:55 AM

Okay, thanks again.

BUT Kokam has a 4800 vs the flightpower 3700 would I be better to go with flightpower 3700 14.8v?

MetalMan 06.20.2006 10:06 AM

Have you found a place to buy the Kokam 4800mah cells?

Hayden 06.21.2006 09:48 AM

Yes I have and I think I can get them real cheap:010:
http://www.mgm-compro.com/index.php?...kokam-k4800-4s

MetalMan 06.21.2006 09:51 AM

Where can you get them cheap? MGM charges a lot (IMO).

Hayden 06.21.2006 09:52 AM

Should I have gone with kokam? because I have all ready ordered the modelflight 3700 4s:013: :032:

I can’t really say:010: but say I work in a hobby shop:027: in Australia

MetalMan 06.21.2006 10:45 AM

The Flightpowers are good. The Kokams are just a larger size, they would work just as well (better). But for the lowest weight but still working well, the Flightpowers are fine.

Serum 06.21.2006 12:39 PM

I highly doubt that metalman, have you got any proof of the kokams being better than the flightpowers? (Just curious, i am ready to take the lipo plunge as well....)

I can tell you that my FMA/Kokam 2s 3200mah BalancePro pack barely rises above room temperature when used in either Stock Touring Car on carpet, or when used off-road with my 4wd 1/10th buggy or my 2wd stadium truck with a Novak 4.5. The performance is greatly increased over a pro-level, high-numbers, matched IB 3800 6-cell nimh pack.
I have not used packs made of the cells in the Flightpower packs, but I can personally testify to the quality of Kokam cells after using them for over 8 months now.

Serum 06.21.2006 03:39 PM

And they are still going strong BatFish? no signs of powerlost yet?

I guess a 4S of them is a must have then.. :p

Yes, they are going quite strong. I do not, however, have a huge amount of charges on them.
If I had to guess, I'd say I have charged the 2s 3200mah pack about 100 times with most of them being between 5 and 9.5 amp charges (the FMA/Kokam BalancePro 2S system allows up to 3c charging). I've charged two of the 2s2p 6400mah packs about 75 times at anywhere from 5 to 10 amps (the chargers only go up to 10 amps). The last of the 2s2p 6400mah packs has been charged about 25 times at 5 amps.
I have only used these packs at the track, and most times I use the same pack for a full race day - just charge between qualifiers and mains. The 6400mah packs NEVER heat up at all, and the 3200mah pack has never gone more than slightly warmer than room temperature, so I never have to wait to charge and the BalancePro system keeps them balanced without me thinking about it, which is a good thing for me :003:

The unfortunate reality here is that they cost a bit more, FMA is no longer in league with Kokam (most of the products are discontinued), and they're getting tough to find.

However, from what I understand, Great Planes' new lipo packs are Kokam cells. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, the fact that the Kokam 4800 20C cell is rated at 96amps and the Flightpower (Enerland) 3700mah 20C cell is rated at 74amps says that the Kokam 4800 should perform better. But, there is extra weight with the larger capacity.

That's what I was thinking. Kokam is probably trying to get its cells to all places possible now that it has taken a big hit from not selling to FMA.

Hayden 06.22.2006 04:58 AM

I ordered the [FPEVO37004S1P] Evolution20 3700mAh 14.8V
and the MGM TMM16012-3 control
I’ll let you guys know how they go in a new thread
