I sent my Ten-T to Mike (site owner) so he can develop a conversion kit for it. He should have it by now, but no telling how long it will take to complete since he is very busy. I imagine the kit will include a motor mount and battery tray with integrated ESC mount. He's also going to come up with a better center diff solution (probably using 32p/Mod0.8 gears) so that pinions are easier to come by. I'm sure when he is done, it will look like a factory-made electric Ten-t. I'm anxious for it!

From the looks of the truck, everything should fit nice and neat with little to no wasted space, without being cramped looking. The only thing it may need is a throttle extension cable due to where the receiver box is located.

These two replies make you ask the question; Are Mike and Brian the same person? I just pondered that idea once more.

gixxer 02.06.2010 07:45 PM

wow, I just saw this thread. I knew you were ordering one from the other post but never say this. Anyways looking forward to seeing the end result. Really odd about the diff though.

now what I would really like would be for losi to make a sc electric version of this. I already have a slash 4x4 but just ordered the jammin scrt10 cause I think they will be faster on the track.

BrianG 02.07.2010 02:29 PM

Well, sold the radio and engine on ebay. Got $185 for the radio and $215 for the engine (WTF???). After shipping and ebay/paypal fees, the Ten-T ruggy costed me a heair less than $200. Not too bad.

jzemaxx 02.07.2010 02:32 PM

The Ten-T would be AWESOME if it could be converted to a 4wd SCT. Keep the cry babies from whining about buggy conversions since they are to heavy......sniff sniff.

Jesus, 215 for a nitro mill. You found the sucker of the century Brian. Can I have his addy as I would like to offer him some waterfront property...

BrianG 02.07.2010 11:25 PM

Tell me about it! I figured ~$80 + shipping would be about right. I was SHOCKED to see it climb to 200 during the last few seconds of the auction (the $15 is for shipping)! I almost feel bad that it went so high. Granted, it came with the engine, pipe, tank, clutchbell, gloplug, and wiring harness, but still.

215$ is cheap, in my country just the engine without R.O.S.S. cost 320$

Btw. Brian a got my car today:D The only problem is the motormount screws are pretty much stuck -.- i broke a traxxas hex tool thingy in half and the screws ARE STILL THERE!!! Anyway the car looks great:D

BrianG 02.09.2010 10:37 AM

Yeah, they were in there pretty good. Took a little muscle to break them loose, but I didn't break any tools. Try heating the screw area up with a heatgun/lighter to get the locktite loose.

Moller123456 ! 02.10.2010 06:55 AM

Hey brian.
Have you heard anything from mike? :D
I cant wait to go brushless:-P (again)

BrianG 02.10.2010 10:58 AM

Yeah, I talked to him last night, and he just got the Truggy in the mail on Monday. I am not in a huge rush being winter and all, so I told him to take his time. Besides, I'm sure he has a bunch of other customer requests ahead of mine.

Well seems fair:) At the moment we have 20cm of snow here, so cant really drive in the snow anyway. And better that he takes some time and doesnt make a piece s**t like traxxas did with the e-revo vxl...
But hope i can get my losi finish soon:)

BrianG 02.10.2010 11:11 AM

I'm sure he'll list the parts in the store as soon as they're finished.

When he looked over the truggy, he said liked what he saw and ordered one that night. So, he is doubly motivated now.

Moller123456 ! 02.10.2010 11:24 AM

Haha ;) that boy aint right XD
But i really cant wait to see what he comes up with

crazyjr 02.11.2010 12:15 AM

I honestly believe Mike has about one of everything ever made. At least for the last ten years

FG101C 02.13.2010 01:27 AM

Count me in for a Ten-T conversion kit. I saw one of these at a hobby shop about a month ago and thought it was just about the coolest thing I've seen in a while. Just ordered on from Losipartshouse for $409.00 shipped. They way I see it if I sell the radio, servo's and motor for $200-225 I got a really sweet roller for around $200.00.

I'm excited to see what Mike comes up with.

hootie7159 02.15.2010 01:20 AM

Dammit!!! Now I have to get one of these!!!

jhautz 02.15.2010 12:12 PM

It just seems slliy to me that Losi wouldnt just make an electric version of this. It would probably sell better than the nitro version. Im betting this will be a good selling kit or Mike.

This would also make a really killer platform for Losi to build a 4x4 short course truck to compete with the Hyper SC10, Jammin SCRT 10, and the Slash 4x4.

I got to check one of these out that a guy had at the track a couple weeks ago. i was really impressed with it. Looked like a solid litte truggy. Much more stoute than the other mini truggys out there now, and much more capable on the track as well. Looking forward to seeing the conversion kit for this liitle guy. SHould be really nice.

BrianG 02.15.2010 12:58 PM

I just hope Mike doesn't take all the time building a conversion kit and then Losi comes out with the e-version. If that happens, all that time is pretty much wasted. Granted, Mike's kit will probably be better quality-wise, but more people will just get the e-version and not bother with the conversion. I guess the best he can hope is if Losi does do an e-version, that it isn't as robust (seems to be the case for many e-versions) making his kit a better value.

Topsy Kretts 02.15.2010 01:51 PM

I'll buy Mike's Version, and know I've got a much better product:yes:

FG101C 02.15.2010 03:06 PM

It looks like there's four confirmed so far and maybe five or six.

If losi makes a sct out of this, then I will buy it. I checked the Ten-t out when my lhs first got them. It looks great but I wont buy one unless there is a class for me to race it in.

hootie7159 02.18.2010 04:28 AM

in on the conversion as well.. :) .. looks like my next 1/10th scale..

BrianG 02.18.2010 04:38 AM

There you go Mike! At least 5 conversion kits pretty much sold. Better get cracking!

Moller123456 ! 02.18.2010 02:55 PM

After some "re-search" i found ot that HPI 17mm hex kit fits the tent (ten-t) # 86925
I havent tried it, but from the specs it should fit:)
I was hoping to ude 2.2" wheels on it, but im pretty sure they wont fit:( unless you have about 50mm offset:-P

hootie7159 02.18.2010 11:00 PM

hmmm buggy tires on a 1/10th scale truggy....i wonder what that will look like?

BrianG 02.18.2010 11:06 PM

Probably not too bad really. The stock tires are close to the same diameter, but a little wider than buggy tires. So, the width might be a little off. You can get an idea from the pic posted earlier in this thread, but here it is again for your convenience:

http://scriptasylum.com/forumpics/losi_ten_6.jpg

Personally, I think 8th scale truggy tires would make it look like a MT, which might be ok for bashing since it will offer a bit more clearance.

Not to big on paint are ya Brian....

BrianG 02.18.2010 11:50 PM

lol, nope. I figure why spend all kinds of time painting a body that will be all scuffed up within 30 seconds of me running it. The only time I run a painted body now is if it comes that way.

I hear ya. Thats my new motto as well. It's depresing to spend time and money painting and then tear it up. Its fun yes but I give up on painting.

This Ten-T is hyping up to be a nice conversion! Might be the new craze. But I too am surprised that Losi didn't release an electric version. With the craze of electrics and conversions now-a-days I'm actually shocked they didnt. I'm surprised they don't offer an electric truggy either... I sure hope they don't jump the bandwagon soon! I hope Mike can get yet another great product out to this community!

jhautz 02.19.2010 01:41 AM

You need a new avatar now... A paint can with a circle/slash over it. LOL

That's not a bad idea! Maybe I'll cook something up this weekend if I remember.

They probably do have something in the works; they just got this out first. Then again, from what I hear about Losi's BL systems, maybe they are waiting until they come up with a better system...

If you do decide to go with 17mm b/truggy wheels, you will need the 14mm to 17mm hex adaptors, which I think Mike is gonna make as part of the kit. I know he's making some for me anyway.

As i can see if you mount 1/8 truggy tires, they will hit the body:( And it should be geared low :whip:

marzac2 02.19.2010 08:17 AM

If there is a way to retain the mechanical brakes, this would be the fastest SCT on the track!

i dont think so, cause if you put the brushless motor where the stock nitro motor is, then you cant fit a battery (maybe 2200mah) Lol
im just gonna use the ESC / motor brake:) That will be harder on motor and esc, but keeps the weight down

No, you put the motor on the other side. Also you can get away with a small brake servo and weight will be negligible.
