Well Daf, I can say the same to you about a certain Revo. Thats whats great about THIS place.

We've now got a LHS owner involved. He paid for, and built the jump (Although I now have my suspicions as to why he built it at the end of a straight :dft012: ) and he's suggested getting timing gear too.

I actually noticed the other day that RRP has hardened diff gears for the Revo now.

Yea, i noticed that 1 week ago to be exact. Migh be worth trying.

Ive made some changes to the Revo.
Namely, Ive installed Daf's motor mount and 8th buggy diff in the centre and some Traxxas set back arms.
Ive had the set back arms on for some time now and they make the truck a lot less prone to wheeling when you give it full stick, and it just skitts over the rutts and bumps at our track, but that is to the detriment of the turning circle, especially with the on power turns.

The Motor and diff mount is a bit of genius ( is this too much Daf?:005: ).
Ive yet to track test it, as I need a smaller pinon and tidy up the wiring. but the 13th that I have on it does give some good speed runs.

hey cabking, what is your gearing?:032: i would just like to know because now i am running a center diff in my e-maxx with 2.85:1 diffs like you......

well the pinion is a 13 tooth, I'm not sure about the spur, I could go and count it. but its not here at the mo. Mabye Daf will say.
For me I think it would be better on a 12 tooth though.

It's a Ofna 51t spur gear.

WOW things have certainly moved on a bit in here since I was last here.
Mike's certainly been a busy boy.
I see the 1/8th diffs are now out too..............cool. :004:
Daf's mount is definitely as tough as it looks, it has had some real intensive testing over the last few months and has put up with the abuse admirably.
The only problem I came up against was the gearing. As Daf pointed out when i bought it,the mount will only alow the moter down so far, thus limiting the gearing options.
will the truggy diffs sort this out??....anyone?

Yeah, the 1/8th revo diffs can be bought in 43/13 or 43/10. This should address your gearing problems.

Yes, the truggy diffs will take care of you! Same gearing options as the direct drive truggy conversions.

Cab... Yes the truggy diffs sort the gearing out perfectly. I'm running one of Dafs center diff setups and the 43/10 truggy diffs now and I run from 13T to 16T pinion gears depending on the surface and siutuation. The truggy difs put you right in the sweet spot for pinion choices.

The center diff and truggy f/r diffs are the perfect setup IMO.

Disaster struck with track Daf, the farmer went all weird on us and gave us a week to quit..........nice.
We are still looking for a new site, and have all the rope and scaffolding stored safely away for then.
What about you, have you got anything together yet? It IS worth all the effort,to have a place you can run and race when you like.
jhautz, a choice of 4 pinions...that will be novel. The DafDiff really works for me too, but I did have the odd thermal in the heat of a race due to the gearing ....still came in third though :005: Racing 8th buggys on tarmac......love it:004:

hey guys i know this is a semi-old thread, but i was looking at the revo threads to get some ideas and i saw these aluminum Battery Hold down straps(on first page). Does anybody know who makes these and where can i get then. I plan on using them on my FLM chassis.

Its a shame, as they are a quality bit of kit. Ive used them for near on 100 packs with no trouble. that includes a few fatal crashes while racing, and never once has a pack left the truck.

Well first off sorry for raising this thread from the dead, but ive been away from the trucks a few years.

The truck in the OP has sat on a shelf for the last 2 years, and after checking it over find the motor wires have corroded out and it spread to the esc too, so im doubltfull that will work either.

Im well behind on whats in and whats not,and now want to get a new motor and esc.

so there it is what would you guys recommend for this one, it wont be needed to win any races, just a bit of bashing and nitro shaming :rofl:

you can't go wrong with the tried and true MMM/2200 combo for your revo. the esc is more than capable of handling itself in that truck and the motor is prefectly suited as well for the revo and other 1/8 MTs. just a heads up, the castle motors are much much better than the feigaos ever were and run much cooler, even geared for higher speeds.
as far as good, well priced batteries go, the best places to get them are:
rc-monster.com (great for higher-end packs such as hyperion)
hobbyking.com (best price/performance ratio
hobbypartz.com (most convenient and still cheap, but quality is slightly less than hobbyking)

the choices of motors and controllers has changed alot, and i dont recognise much of the stuff in the rc-monster shop (saddened to see G.M. not trading atm) either.

So you think the 2200 is a good 'fit all motor', as the gearing on this revo is not stock (LST truggy Diffs) and it still has proline 40 wheels on?...and where have they gone too?:surprised:

I have a Quark 125 still in the box, did these controllers work out ok or were they dropped from the shop for a reason?

any help/links are welcome, ive been away too long and could do with getting back some knowledge without trawling the threads too much.

Hi.Hobbyking do a 150 A esc for about $70,don't know about their motors,but my £35 35A esc & 5200kv motor from 'em is still running strong after 2 years :)
