Good to hear. I am sure that you will be pleased once you get it setup and start using it for the first time. Please share your thoughts once you have gotten to use it. I also ordered a spare tip for the iron, but these tips are so heavy duty and tough that I think it will be quite some time before I ever get to use it. Great buy for the price.

Great buy indeed 89 bucks shipped...I never really soldered much nor liked to solder,but now i cant wait to solder something..LOL

I found the 2200kv castle didn't work with the associated kit myself. Switched to mikes kit.

I find that it is great fun once you get the procedure figured out. In most cases the best way is to flux and tin both the wires, and the object they are being soldered to using enough heat to make sure things fuse properly. Once everything is tinned, then it is pretty easy to fuse them altogehter. For small items I use one of those mag based soldering jigs to hold everything in place and it has a magnifying glass to help see what you are doing. This way you have both hands free to do the actual soldering. The Hakko soldering rigs heat up pretty fast also, which saves you time when you get in a hurry. Like anything you will get better with time and practice. Good luck with your new toy/tool.

Use a shim to get the motor up off the chassis and put a little padding under it ?

I shimmed the cd and its perfect!!..Thanks bro...So i received some new Craftsman pliers for x-mas, prob used them 3-4 times and this is was happens..

Sure there guaranteed for life,but this the second time using this particular set and all i was doing was holding the chuck on my dremel..Im saying what ever happened to quality made tools????? Every damn thing is made in china!!!!!!!..I have my fathers tools that are double my age (38) and they work flawlessly....Sorry for the damn rant just pizzzzed

What a pisser that is. Yea unfortunately way too many companies are now acquiring their products from a Chinese supplier to try and save on manufacturing costs, and the end result is that we receive crap for our hard earned money. If you are going to spend money on tools you really need to make sure that you are actually buying materials made in the USA. Having a good warranty is also good, but what a PITA just to get some things replaced. At least with Sears you should still be able to take it right back to the store and swap it out for a new tool. They usually take any broken tool into consideration and if they are getting crap materials they stop buying from that vender. Unfortunately a lot of tools today are not made out of the best quality steel. Life goes on.

I can see breaking the tip on needle nosed pliers but to break back at the hinge is not looking promising. Thast some shiz-ity metal or tempering right there.

Buy a snap-on tool on ebay, use it till it breaks then trade it in to a snap-on dealer for a new one... if you can break it.

Just don't be an idiot and pay your first child for it new from snap-on, they are warrantied for life regardless of who's kid they got :-)

Its almost done,,just buttoning her up and she'll be done..Im running 16/46 on 4s so it should be fast and cool....Im planning on doing a Nascar street cart out of it,but i cant find any 1/8 scale GM bodies.Anyone know where the hell i can find one..Im looking for a Camaro,Impala...etc

Looks good, but why ruin an awesome truck with CRAPCAR? :) FYI, stick with the plastic braces. I've not had good luck with either of the aluminum braces, they keep bending!

CRAPCAR is better served with a pancar anyways, especially since even in 2011 they are still running silly rear axles.

Not only does he not like NASCAR but he has something against solid rear axles too. What's wrong with NASCAR and what's wrong with a solid rear axle? Solid axles are proven to be reliable and the strongest available. How many trucks run an independent rear setup?

What about the bodies for the Kyosho Inferno cars they did, do?, that are on-road? Or are those all buggy sizes?

SC8 is an oddball... length of a truggy, width of a buggy. So might be hard to find bodies.

I saw a nascar body somewhere the other day, but now for the life of me I can't find it. But there is an 1/8th scale nascar body out there somewhere. The kyosho GT2 bodies should be pretty close in wheelbase tho, as the GT2 is longer than the gt (buggy) length.
