@Thomas...
After one run (about 14min) the motor goes from a resting 68f to 160f without a shroud...with the shroud, the motor is cool (135f) in the center but the temp from the endbell still reads around 160.... I run this in an indoor clay track (http://www.capitalrc.com/) ...I'm not sure how much this truck weighs since I don't have a scale but it def is heavier than the slash 4x4... Complete setup is as follows: 16/40 gearing 5/7/3 diffs Aka wish bones mounted on stock scte wheels MMP (no timing or punch control...throttle curve is pulled up 2-3 squares from the middle to the upper left corner (forgot what this shape was called lol) 2s 65C 5600mah protek lipos Dx3s sr3100t I'm no hack so i don't spend a lot of time on my lid or hitting the pipes but I do run pretty aggressively...Btw, Thomas, I though I read somewhere that the windings could withstand 180c and the magnets 250c...??? |
Would this motor handle say an RC8 (got enough spares to make one) dressed up as a Corr truck on 2s (SC8 Bumpers, Shock Towers and Body Posts, SC10 Body) and geared for 30mph?
Not sure what sort of weight that'd be (RC8 is in bits) but I wouldn't imagine it being much more than a Hyper 10SC? |

Just the car without Lipos is about the same weight as my Hyper 10SC Hope to get the test done next weekend I have the 1415 can and this thing is way to much in my 4WD SC10 ... maybe the 1410 is the way to go will see |
Well my RC8 weighs in at 3.3kg without batteries, mind you that's set up with a MMP and Neu 1515 1Y
The 4wd Corr thing will be a spare parts build, will prob need to buy shock towers, a few gaskets and shocks themselves, plus a shell and Motor. (have a bunky Venom ESC (Xerun 120A V1) which looks like hell but it just won't die! |

Hey guys, just an update...the 3800kv motor in an scte geared 15/40 is def. The sweet spot...great top end, great acceleration, and best of all, I ran back to back 2s 65C 5600mah protek's and the motor topped out at 155...:). I figured out why I was running so hot and it turned out that I was spinning my wheels too much and not getting enough traction , lol. Ive tried the 4.5 and 5.5 HV motors both with and without the 14mm tuning rotor and they both either got too hot or didn't have as much torque as I'm used to....i also tried the 2650kv 1512 cc/Neu and it worked fine as well, however, just make sure you have good lipos BC my 2s 5000mah 40c venoms had a hard time accelerating the truck from a dead start and bringing the nose down during jumps...but my protek's had zero issues .....hope this helps..

Today i tested the 1410 Motor in my RC8 to SC10 4WD Conversion
Setup 1410 3800KV Mamba Max Pro 46/16 Gearing 2S 6200 mAh Lipo On our small Indoor Track this is way enough for this heavy car. Im more than impressed what this little motor does with the car. The Track is in an old "Glashouse" and the temps inside where today in the high 80-90 After running about 15min on this bumpy carpet track the motor had 105 F Castle what f***k have you put together here :surprised: This motor is a masterpice !!!! Please come up with an 5mm shaft rotor ... Meanwhile i will try to Neu 1409 4500 KV :mdr: |
Interesting and encouraging results, what does your RC8 weigh ready to race ?
|
With the 2S Setup around 3,2kg
Not much more than the org. SC10 4x4  I will keep using this setup 2S2P will give me 10000 mAh and about 20-25 min runtime ... I'm thinking about the Neu 1409 4500KV Should be in the same "Class" as the 1410 i guess "just" a little more RPM |
3.2KG is roughly 7.5lbs right ?
Sounds like a great idea, I might try this combo in my Losi 810. |
Little less 7.5 lbs
maybe close to 7.0 |
Cool, my 810 should be about 1.0lb less ?
|
Not sure, but i have seen a picture of the T810 in a forum with the 1410 installed.
Maybe in this thread, with the motor installed, but can't remeber. The feedback was more than positiv ... Edit found the post Losi T810 on CC 1410 1Y |
