Serum 09.22.2006 11:44 AM

and it saves weight, you don't need to bother charging the receiver pack.. :p

captanabolic 09.22.2006 12:11 PM

UBEC ORDERED. Man you guys just cost me 40 bucks pay up!!! LOL

Serum 09.22.2006 12:12 PM

LOL!

small investment for a great device.

neweuser 09.22.2006 12:18 PM

Woman are more expensive IMO! I'd rather spend 40.00 on my truck, the only time it yells at me is when i don't run it!

sjcrss 09.22.2006 12:21 PM

true, very true......but it every dollar is worth it....on our trucks that is...and on our ladies as well....

neweuser 09.22.2006 12:53 PM

Hmmmmm, truck vs woman, truck vs woman, hmmmm, truck..woman, truck, truck...woman, truck truck truck.....truck wins....

Women do that too :005: .

RC or girls, its an IMPOSSIBLE decision!!! :030:

LST looks really good! Curious as to what turn the motor is? I'd guess 7XL.

Have you managed to get a top speed figure for it?

Serum 09.22.2006 01:39 PM

Sounds to me, like you really need a new Girl Neweuser..

aqwut 09.22.2006 05:00 PM

Ah... you gotta have both... the girls and the trucks..... You buy nice toys for the girl and she "LET'S" you buy nice toys for yourself..... :) that's my theory..

Serum 09.22.2006 05:03 PM

Yeah, i am looking for a pink shell...

neweuser 09.22.2006 05:18 PM

LOL, my girl has a Jato, Rustler, BL Emaxx with single speed that i just put in last night. So i think she is doing well. What do you guys think? I have a 3.3 Jato and a gmaxx....wait, how come she has more trucks than me? :( guess i need a new one!

Serum 09.22.2006 05:22 PM

And you are the one wining about your girl!?

Behave boy......

Mine is still in the 'need to learn how the car steers if it's running towards me' phase...

sjcrss 09.22.2006 05:25 PM

that's more than my wife...she would get a hold of my emaxx and touch the throttle and it was off, but she handles the rustler pretty good

neweuser 09.22.2006 05:29 PM

LOL, that's funny Serum! I never said she COULD drive, i said she has them TO drive! LOL, if you call it that. Ask Shayne, as he says, give her a little wine and she'll so better!

sjcrss 09.22.2006 05:30 PM

amen brother....when he was here visiting me....she took out my oldest boy with her emaxx ...smack in the ankle.....he was fine...but she felt bad....

BlackedOutREVO 09.22.2006 06:23 PM

thats so cool, but how does the pinion gear hook up the the shaft?

danhfvcsd 09.25.2006 03:32 AM

Nice truck man :) I am wondering how much it weighs? Mine is heavy as - bout 7.4Kg, but i am running 18 gp3700 nimh cells....

The pinion gears on mine can be changed by unscrewing them - same as with when it was nitro, and if you have a fellow who can make larger hardened gears (which i also have - 2+/4+ & 6+) - Mr Constructor (the fellow who created my beast), i'm sure would be more than happy to help if you have any q's :)
http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/m...p?userid=29212 - or i think you can try here too.... http://www.ace-cars.info/Ace%20Cars/...%20Adress.html

One thing i just thought tho - is that motor mount adjustable at all???

I run a lehner 2230, and not sure on your shaft size you will have there.... i'm sure serum will know tho :) The truck looks to run great in the video.... i need to go lipo too, so i can get rid of some weight, but i'm too pov atm hehehe :)

almost forgot - here's a pic of the pinion situation.... basically is secured with a set screw to mount to the motor shaft :)

Serum 09.25.2006 04:25 AM

7.4 kg! beefy... :p

How do you like your 2230?

I am ditching my heavy trucks... i like lightweight, my e-maxx weights a tad over 3kg, with 5S lipo.. i think 4 kg is a nice weight for a truck, too light is not too good either, makes them catchy for lift-off above 40 mph.. (or at least at the speed where you can hear the body vibrating of the wind...)

jhautz 09.25.2006 09:26 PM

3kg!:dft008: Wow... I think my rustler is heavier than your maxx. lol:005:

aqwut 09.25.2006 10:04 PM

3KG is beautiful.... Hey serum... would you mind giving me the whole setup spec on that 3KG maxx.... I'd love to build one just like that...

danhfvcsd 09.26.2006 02:41 AM

beefy? this pole is easily 10-12 inches thick, and is used to be straight..... i'd say more than beefy! -lol-
http://f5.putfile.com/5/12703075516.jpg

But to be honest - i have nothing to compare the 2230 to, except the nitro that came out of it -lol- all my leccy rc has been 10 scale... But as it is (stock gearing), it's quicker both top end and from a dead stop than the new LST2, and with almost twice the weight - i'd say damn impressive! hehehe But everything runs cool as, and i've had no problems whatsoever....

So to answer your question - i guess you could say i love the 2230! -lol-

aqwut 09.26.2006 05:50 AM

I've seen that picture before... that's brutal..

Serum 09.26.2006 10:45 AM

With a pole that was deep in the ground or not rotten, it would be impossible..

aqwut 09.26.2006 11:20 AM

for sure... it must've been rottin' or not very deep... and there's no way the truck would look like that....

captanabolic 09.26.2006 12:30 PM

Ok bad news I have fried my warrior esc by my own stupidity. As I was cleaning off my truck I thought i was using a solvent for electric motors. (motor spray) it turns out I was using my nitro vehicle cleaner a mixture of denatured alcohol, simple green & wd40. NOT A GOOD COMBO as I applied the throttle the warrior smoked crackled then caught FIRE!! Well that was interesting. Man burning fets makes a nasty smell!! That was an expensive lesson. So I am thinking about what I should get to replace it. It ran well It never got that hot. So Iam torn between a new 9920 or the QUARK MONSTER a little more expensive. But I have heard some overheating issues. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

The (STUPID) CAPT!!

sjcrss 09.26.2006 12:31 PM

I backed over a post that looked the same as the one in the pic with the wifes minivan....and i didn't notice it was pushing it so I gave it more gas..then I noticed I was pushing it......and it put a small dent in her bumper...so I think the photo isn't real....and the post is leaning and someone put the truck there and said they hit it......it's is not possible...with no damage...to the truck....unless the post is rotten at the bottom...even then there would be damage on the truck....just my .02 worth or opinion

captanabolic 09.26.2006 12:32 PM

BY the way thanks for all those who recommended the BEC to me it works perfectly and is a nice addition to the electronics package of my truck.

THE (STUPID) CAPT

neweuser 09.26.2006 12:39 PM

If you are looking at the Quark, IMO, they are hard to keep cool. But they are very smooth. Go with what you know is my advice.

captanabolic 09.26.2006 12:45 PM

Thanks NEWEUSER I'm thinking of going back with the 9920. It is fairly simple to operate and program.

neweuser 09.26.2006 12:47 PM

No prob. I still run mine in my girls. If i had my 12020 back, i would sell you mine! LOL, it has been two months now! I run the quark, but like you said, it runs warm. No to happy about that. The 9920 seemed easier to keep cool, and i could run a taller gearing on it as well.

captanabolic 09.26.2006 01:01 PM

Thanks for the offer now I just have to wait for Mike to get them back in stock!!!

neweuser 09.26.2006 01:06 PM

PM him! He may have them!

captanabolic 09.26.2006 01:14 PM

Thanks New, Iwill

cart213 09.26.2006 01:42 PM

A good heat sink seems to be key to keeping the quark cool. I've got mine bolted directly to the chassis of my truggy, and so far it's working great. Twenty minutes of hard running and it is only warm to the touch.

captanabolic 09.26.2006 01:47 PM

Cart213,
I was thinking of doing something like that. In my Lst I have a huge Aluminium Battery tray. I was thinking of somehow mounting the QUARK to it to keep it cool. there might be just enough room under the tray to mount it. Once again though I'm still leaning towards the 9920. I do have an opportunity to get a new quark for less than $250.

THE CAPT

neweuser 09.26.2006 01:49 PM

My heatsink is 4-5mm in thickness. What motor are you running?

cart213 09.26.2006 01:57 PM

My motor is a Neu 1512/1.5D (2000 kv).

neweuser 09.26.2006 01:59 PM

There you go! I run the wanderer. The 4 pole motors seem to do better than the 2 pole. More efficient. thanks man!

Serum 09.26.2006 05:28 PM

It's the segmented magnets that make them more efficient, thise neu's seem to be nice motors, i am waiting for mine to arrive..

aqwut 09.26.2006 06:38 PM

Do the 4 pole neu motors run at lower RPMS? or are they capable of the same rpms as the 2 poles...
