BP-Revo 03.08.2007 11:45 PM

I beleive E-Maxx Rock's is giving up all current projects in order to race On-Road.

However, for an awesome setup in the Baja 5B, I would run a Lehner 2280 on something like 8S or 10S. This should give it plenty of power.

BlackedOutREVO 03.08.2007 11:48 PM

yup bp is correct... lol im getting a cyclone moore speed edition.. 500 bucks:013:

lol so far i have sunk 1578 bucks so far lol... now the wait:mad:1 and my car and speedo are on back order:mad:1 lol but it will be sick

but yeh, i aggree that would be a sick power set up

BlackedOutREVO 03.08.2007 11:49 PM

and btw, giving up is so harsh =P i say putting as-side hehe

BP-Revo 03.09.2007 12:09 AM

I thought you were selling your FLM pede and all - isn't that pretty much giving it up. IIRC all you have is your 18SS and Micro T left. ;)

lol I know what you mean. I know it can be hard. To have my G2R put out of commission by a blown motor system AND bent chassis is killing me...I'm dying to see that thing blaze down my street.

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 12:15 AM

i am, i still have a

mini quake,
mini inferno,
mini t
micro t
e revo
xxx s sport
nitro rs4 rtr, which has a mm in it =P
tlt
and a few x mods lol

im not nearley sellin em out lol.. just i know the flm pede is what im going to get money out of so thats why its going.. sadly

and soon to come cyclone moore speed :D

BP-Revo 03.09.2007 12:19 AM

Damn...thats a truckload of R/C's

You still have as many R/C's in your possession than I have ever owned.

Do all of them work though? Besides the current down on my G2R, all 5 of my trucks will work. The Nitro's just need air filters cleaned and my 18T needs a charged battery, but otherwise thats it.

Do you ever get around to driving all of them? I barely even touch my T-Maxx anymore...all I usually drive in my G2R or 18T, and when I pull out the nitro's its Jato or Revo...T-Maxx has losts its fun really. I just use it for hardcore offroading, it seems to handle better in the real rough stuff (my revo actually gets thrown around more for some reason).

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 12:26 AM

most work, cant find my x mods as we just moved, and a few cars got broken in the move because i packaged them crappy lol... but yeh i still drive them... rite now most are apart because i got bored so i ripped them arpart and cleaned them and havent pu them back togather hehe

i drive, the pede, micro t, i pu tthe pede tranny in the rs4 and drive that lol.. and thats about it, all the rest sit under the bead because i dont want to drive them... but i know i wont get any money for them so i dont use them

jnev 03.09.2007 12:53 AM

I am sure if you sell the mini quake, mini inferno, and mini t, you can get a decent amount of money. There are plenty of all of them on ebay and they all seem to sellfairly fast. Depending on the condition, I am sure you can get atleast $150 for all three of them. With this money, it should fund for all the spare tires and parts for a little while.

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 01:00 AM

till i want them, then i have to pay 2 times what comes out =(

one thing i have learned is dont sell ur stuff... i know im going to regret the pede... BUT i know it will just sit here and then eventually get parts stollen from and then it isnt worth anything so its just goin now lol

BP-Revo 03.09.2007 01:23 AM

Where do you get all the money from for all the R/C's?

Being 16 its harder than heck to scrape up the money and a good deal has come from working over the summer.

I can't imagine how hard it is at 13.

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 01:28 AM

LOL i worked harder then a lawn mowin person over summer lol i mowed lwans, walked dogs, picked weeds, did chores in my house and others.. so between that me and 3 buddys each made 600 a month!!! HEHE, but i have also been into rc for like 8 years so u know, the revo was the firt batch to come my lhs, and mini the same year and all........... so theres not like i just bought them all

BP-Revo 03.09.2007 01:34 AM

Oh, well, that would explain some lol.

I beleive my Revo was the 2nd or 3rd batch at the LHS. Jato was among the first few batches from Tower though. They got them in stock then they all sold out, then we backordered it and got it.

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 01:40 AM

yeh... im spoiled lol.. but i cant complain LOL works for me =P

but yeh, my newest car is the pede, then my micro t's, i got the first one at my lhs and got another fro x mas, then the half 8, mq, and revo and idk past there lol

I can sort of say the same. But once the E-Maxx came my parents said I was on my own for this hobby. Thats fine I guess...they support my other hobby: full sized cars :027:

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 02:09 AM

same here, they dont pay for me, but like my racin thing, i get my share of money my sisters spend... i dont have to buy 300 pairs of shoes, or other things and all so u know they kinda give me money in tmes like this lol

jnev 03.09.2007 02:10 AM

I don't kno if you guys have seen this, but sicne this topic was originally fort he baja 5b... here is a new brushless one from Fine Design:

http://www.finedesignrc.com/ct-hpi-hotbodies.asp

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 02:14 AM

HOLLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that motor is the size of texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!! WOW

BP-Revo 03.09.2007 02:16 AM

8hp?? That means the motor is like 6000w. There's gonna be a hefty price tag on that.

It seems to be a LMT3060...which is alone like 700 bucks.

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 02:34 AM

it has 4 motor wires to!!!! or does it not????

and yeh lol, i bet 100 bucks it pulls wheelies =P

EDIT, the e hammer is 2600 bucks!!! and yes its the motor u thought it was lol.. theres like 8 wires for it!

BP-Revo 03.09.2007 02:47 AM

Its 6. Thats actually standard on most Lehner motors now. Allows you to change between Delta and Wye connection.

Delta connection is the "standard" connection. Gives the rated KV, etc. Wye gives KV thats 1.73 times less than the rated KV. But it is more efficient and has more torque. In a way this allows you to have two motors in one. This is going to be like my backup for my CRT .5. If it is too fast I will go to Wye orientation, which will reduce KV and slow it down.

Serum 03.09.2007 02:54 AM

it's not said that it's more efficient bp.

The 3060/3080 motors of lehner have got 3 wires going to the speedo. but all the other wires/plugs that sit on the rear are for the Wye and Delta configuration.

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 02:56 AM

LOL believe me i read ur thread bout all this lol

and i didnt know that tho, do u use all 6, or just 3?

Serum 03.09.2007 03:00 AM

Three, read my earlier post.

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 03:02 AM

ooops, sorry didnt see that lol

how do u know what goes where to set it up right?

Serum 03.09.2007 03:08 AM

By looking here;

BlackedOutREVO 03.09.2007 03:11 AM

ohhh, ok thats cool... looks like a pita tho... lol to me ne ways

steveo 03.10.2007 01:29 AM

i think finedesighnrc.com is going to beat you to the punch, they just built a duratrax 1/5 bl truck 22 series lehner and 10s lipo and soon after same setup in 5b buggy check it out

steveo 03.10.2007 01:35 AM

no i'm sorry a 3040 series lehner motor

jnev 03.10.2007 02:29 AM

I actually posted a link to it on the page before, lol.

FD was at the WRAM show, and I saw the DTX E-firehammer run with a 3080 motor (yes a 3080!). Chris ran it about 5 times total and it practically broke every time! You heard gears stripping everywhere! He told me that they only ran it at about 3hp and that the production models will have 3040's, not 3080's. From talking to him in person a couple times, I really think I saw dollar signs in his eyes!:005: He is nice, but I would rather deal with RC-M mike!

Bye:018:

Re~Mix 03.10.2007 01:47 PM

I think if done right, each could work. However, the cheap resources that finedesign uses will never due such a conversion justice. A big motor like that deserves more than clamps as motor mounts.

MetalMan 03.10.2007 11:20 PM

I hope Chris will be at the RCX show. Then I can give him a piece of my mind! And if I see his (IMO) crappy conversions, I will point out the "crapiness" of them to passers-by.

glassdoctor 03.10.2007 11:22 PM

Ha ha... I can see it now... a spontaneous pick line forms in front of the FD booth... :D

BrianG 03.10.2007 11:29 PM

lol. Just bring a couple of your conversions to show people that there are better designs. :)

MetalMan 03.10.2007 11:51 PM

That would be nice. Mike needs to set up a booth at RCX! I could help him work it :). Hobby People is a major supporter of RCX, and is the hobby store chain that I work for. My boss (the manager) will be hosting the "Try Me" track, so myself and the other employees are going to be bugging him. It should be fun.

BrianG 03.10.2007 11:54 PM

Just call your stuff "Better Design" (a play off of the Fine Design name). :)

MetalMan 03.10.2007 11:56 PM

LOL. I still think Mike should set up his own booth maybe next year. It would be neat if by then he had a full line of his own parts, including conversions and whatnot. It would be VERY good advertising.

BrianG 03.11.2007 12:01 AM

I think so too. I try to spread the RCM word whenever I can, but he needs more advertising! I even emailed Mike saying he should put the various motor mounts he's designed on the RCM store. Otherwise, the only way people know the work he can do is by trawling through the forums.

jnev 03.11.2007 12:05 AM

I will also be going to rcx this year. Hopefully my conversion will also be done by then too. And then we can both say how bad fd's converisons are, lol. I hope they have a booth, sicne I have never seen any of his conversions in real life. They just look cheap in pictures and everyone says there bad too, lol.

But that would be awesome if Mike had a booth there. Definately some great advertising...

BP-Revo 03.11.2007 12:58 AM

Hey MetalMan, you and a few west-coast Mod's should set up a booth to represent Mike next year. I'll help too :)
