i have printed everything and thanks to all of you for your assistance in my little winter project. i also heard back from mike , but no list yet. will post the other list when i get it so my new friends can see. will keep all of you posted and i will post pics as i assemble the monster. hey, if i use gorillamaxx"s list, how much of my emaxx will i actually use? thanks again jeff

This is the updated list that me and squee have come up with the only difference in the list is the radio preference and the charger(the reason i chose the ice charger -more expensive-is because i have heard lots of problems with the super brains charging the batteries all the way and the ice has more options. the super brain will charge lipo but the ice is more suited for it. This is one is one of those items where if you have the cash you should just buy the more expensive one just to be sure you don't regret the cheaper on, BUT if you would rather save the 60$ you can go with the super brain and it will work) he chose the Nomadio and i chose spektrum spektrum is cheaper than the nomadio and has about the same technology it will not effect performance no matter which radio you use.
Well heres the list i created and squee modified (his opinions are good he is very knowledgeable) with this list it will be a ground up build which means you will not even touch anything on the stock emaxx, because everything on this list is an upgrade from stock. What i would do is race the stock E-Maxx in the stock class and drive it with the one you are building. This will make it fun because you can actually see the performance difference difference between the two. Also you can use it is a back up or spare car if someone else wants to drive/race with you. Heres the list ULTIMATE MAXX 1.) Unlimited Engineering Racer X suspension pro kit. 2.) Unlimited Engineering Ger 4 servo saver steering assembly 3.) Unlimited Engineering Racer X shock kit 4.) Unlimited Engineering 8mm CVDS with 23mm hex Hubs 5.) External Ubec (on RC monster) 6.) GorillaMaxx Carbon Fiber Chassis 8.) GorillaMaxx Carbon Fiber Chassis Extension 10.) GorillaMaxx G3 Battery Straps 11.) Fast Lane Machine Hybrid Bulk Head Braces 12.) HB Lightning diffs (purchase 2) 13.) RC monster Slipperiential 14.) DUH engineering titanium shock towers (DUH engineering.com) 15.) Revo slipper pressure plate 16.) Revo slipper rebuild kit 17.) Revo 36t spur gear 18.) Proline 23mm standard size Maxx rims 19.) Proline crime fighter standard size tires 20.) Proline medium blend glue 21.) RC Screwz E-Maxx screw kit 22.) ACER Racing E-Maxx Bearing Kit 23.) Lehner 1950/6 high amp motor 24.) Quark 125B brushless controller 25.) Maxx amps (purchase 2) 8000 mah 2 cell lipo batteries 26.) Hitec 5955TG titanium gear servo 27.) Spectrum DX3.0 Radio 28.) RC monster Heat sink 29.) (2) 40mm fans 30.) 70 weight shock oil 31.) Associated black grease 32.) RPM bumper with plastic stock E-Maxx mounts 33.) Durtraxx ice charger 34.) Ofna 12v power supply for charger 35.) 8 AA batteries for radio 36.) misc wrenches like hex wrenches 37.) and a 15t pinion get a higher pinion for more speed (this pinion will get you in the 30s) 38.) Unlimited Engineeting VBS bulk set 39.) Proline power strokes |
glad i could help any other questions feel free to ask.

Might want to remove number 3 :005:. Also, I'm not sure what Super Brain charger your thinking of, but I was refering to the 989. It is $140 and comes with a power supply. It can charge 8S, and from what I here has more options than the ICE. If you go that route, remove number 34 as well. Also, you might want to take Josh's advise on the screw kit. From what I here, Tony's screws are the best. Oh, and lastly, the Nomadio React is MUCH better than the DX3.0. If your going for the best, or plan on staying into RC, it is a smart move to get it instead since it has more features, can be computer programmed, can be updated via computer, and is just a better radio. It has telemtry built in, as well as numberous other features that I don't even know what they do. No question, the React is by far the best radio. Especially for the money.

+ 1 for bk esc's. had really bad luck with quark. lehner motors rock, they are the smoothest, had really good luck with 1950. the price of lmt's isn't for looks!
|
...it almost sounds as though it would be cheaper to start WITHOUT a stock truck and just build from scratch...We dont have many E-Maxx'es in Japan but i dont think i would need one if i just with the lists that you guys have put forward...Nice thread...Almost makes me jealous ;) Cant wait to pics of this build...Hint hint...

Sorry squee i for got to take off the UE shocks even though i put the powerstrokes on the list my mistake. Also the Nomadio is good and better than the spektrum but it is higher thats why i reccomended the DX3.0 as for the charge i was thinking of the 120 dollar superbrain that has problems. I did not even think about the new one if it has as many options as the ice and has its own power supply definatly go for it. One thing for squee though. Were can i look at the Nomadio ratios, see the features, and price the Nomadios. Aslo how long is the receiver antena on these radios are they as short as the spektrum ones also are the revievers just as small to. And are the nomadio radios compadiable with the spektrum recievers. Thanks squee

it would probably be cheaper to start from scratch unless you can sell off the unused parts!

A set of shocks from a Jammin x1 crt (bigbores) are the best shocks money can buy bar none. They are alot like the supermaxx shocks but larger bores and longer stroke (rear) as well as a dust boot bumper instead of a rubber dirt sock. I've tried all the other shocks and nothing comes close.
Check out this video and see.http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...post74918:018: |
You can view the React here. Yes, the Nomadio is compatible with Spektrum recievers, but requires to be programmed by a computer to do so, so switching from Nomadio recievers to Spektrum recievers requires a computer. DSM (Nomadio calls it "Da Slow Mode" for legallity) is obviously gonna be slower, but the Spektrum receivers are gonna be smaller...I think the Nomadio receivers are the way to go despite the fact that there slightly larger. They allow the use of the sensors for the telemetry, so I wouldn't complain...They are about $100 a piece though (with sensors)....By the way, not sure, but I'm pretty sure the antennas are about the same length of the Spektrums, if not shorter probably...
|
were do i purchase them and look at the recievers and stuff and what do they cost and what does this price cover (for example with spektrum it covers reciever, servo, and radio). thanks
|
Squee i am interested in this radio. A few questions firs can you explain to me how this can improve my racing skills also what does this radio have that the spektrum does not. Is this radio better than the 3PK radio. Also what are the main cool features that set this radio apart from the rest. why should i get this radio over the spektrum. and hop much does it cost and were can i look at more pictures. thanks
|
You can get it here. Mike can probably get it as well. It should be $50 to $75 cheaper pretty soon since they just came out. It has ALOT more features than the Spektrum. It has a tank mode, it has telemetry (MAJOR bonus), it can be updated by computer, it can be used as a controller for computer games, such as VRC, you can upload the data from the telemetry to your computer, and so many other things I don't even know. That radio can actually help improve driving, believe it or not. Setting the throttle curve seems to help alot of people when it comes to brushless. That way your less likely to spin out on take-off. Its like night and day compared to a TQ-3 or even some slightly better RTR radios. A main thing is throttle control in general, as well as steering control. It won't feel so cheap. Basically you will have more control over the steering and throttle because it will be more sensitive to inputs.
|
cool does this come with every thing needed like reciever servo and radio
|
Not sure about servos, but radio, rechargable tx battery, reciever, sensors, etc. all come with it.
|
what are the sensors (if i had to guess i would say like a venom speed metor motor temp and such - is this what you mean by sensors speed meters and temp sensors-) if not what are they and if so how many and what sensors
|
hey all, ups brought me a big box today. this truck is impressive just out of the box. tallyram i am going to build from scratch, from the list that gorrillamaxx 360 gave me , not much of my emxx will be used so going to keep it pretty much stock [few minor add ons] so i can just goof around and build one from scratch that kicks a$$. mike is also sending me a list ,so between all of you and mike i should have a real good truck. will keep you posted.. thanks alot

The React has temps sensors, RPM sensors, and the such. Not sure on how many, etc, but....
