Really awesome track. I love the tracks that are a decent size and filled with jumps like this one. :027:

It just a little confusing to navigate at first because there aren't any walls yet. But once I figured out where it went it got easier. Just kept forgetting about the singles on the last little stretch before the right hand section. Those doubles were killing my truck.

Which LHS? Superior? That's where I got mine. I don't care much for the guys in there because some of them are quite arrogant, but they're the only place in town to get parts like that. If I had known I wasn't going to make it out there this week, I would have just saved a few $ and ordered them from tower.

I really like Superior. Theres a few guys in there I don't care for ether. But theres that guy (I forget his name) that used to run 1/10 ST down at Stricktland and now runs a Lazer. Then Chris is happy to help with anything. I haven't seen Ben in there in a long time. Mike is the guy who got me started in R/C but now is really lazy and just sits in the back room and orders stuff.

I went to the track today for about an hour. I was really a bit disappointed that it wasn't in better shape or didn't have a better layout. With the track laid out the way it is, brushless power is pretty much useless. It's like blip the throttle, jump, blip the throttle, jump, blip the throttle, turn...the whole way around the track. There are absolutely no straights to open it up anywhere without a jump.

That being said, my 380C 6L is too much out there...way too much, especially when the track isn't wet down. Without any water on the track, you might as well put ice in the turns because the light sand on top of the hard packed stuff. I also don't like that there are like 4 different jumps on the track that are choice jumps, where you go to one side or the other. It wouldn't be so bad, but they're so narrow, it's very difficult to pick a line and hold it without either going off the track or crossing lines mid-jump.

I will go back at least once more, but if the track is in the same condition, I might not go back after that. The biggest downfall is that they will keep having the mini motocross kids ride on it the days the RC guys don't and it just ruts up the track.

The only good part is the turn marshall guy that'll run out there and flip your truck back upright for you. Eh, we'll see how I fell if I go back out there next Tuesday.

seth556 soposaly they are building a track near the airport :027:

seth556 05.06.2007 12:47 PM

They had one out by the airport. Boggy creak. Then the guy closed it because he got tired of having to get all the permits.

jeffmowens 05.06.2007 06:13 PM

Yeah, I talked to that guy recently.

He's was a bit peaved at the whole ordeal. Government started in on him because area homes were complaining of the noise. In his words they were using that as an excuse to shut him down because there was no permits in place to give him to operate (and thus making the city/county money). That's how he put it.

It's a shame the only decent track is in Daytona. I bet Orlando would benefit from a new track or a newly designed/RC friendly one out Ski World.

Skellyo. Almost bought a Gorilla eRevo ... just waiting to hear back from Mike if his motor mount works on that kit. Wanted a 4x4 1/10th in addition to the 4x4 1/8th! ;-P

1bhutch 05.06.2007 06:30 PM
