Why would anyone put 70k into a evo? i had an evo, that thing was junk! I'd build an sti or M3, but not a vette. the new lexus is-f is going to rock whenever they release it, but yeah anyways.
you think a 2250 with proper gearing could do 150? IF we DONT take into account aerodynamics or tires exploding or anything else?

the campairing a m5 to a corvette is kinda stupid ones a sedan ones a sportscar the sedan will NOT corner with a vette it simply will not do everything a corvette can .. and a corvette will never hold 4 peaple it will never have 4 doors so were getting back to the apples and oranges thing again the m5 is good for a sedan sure the vette is good for a sportscar some peaple are fans some arent so opinions varry ... but they are just opinions
so getting back on track a stock new vette z06 will take a stock m5 of the same year on any track even if the quarter mile times may be the same or close and when it comes to imports i wouldnt wanna put thousands into a import just to do what a vette can do stock .. but im not a import guy then again i like electric rc ... and not nitro .. go figure driving a gas rc car is like driving a import ricer you dont got no power till you get into the higher end of the rpm range i dont like that ... but thats just my preferance

wow are we off topic ill stop now its getting outa hand :031:
there are other forums for this anyways lol

careful there.... I think you are making some assumptions about the M cars that are not true.. ;) they can hang on the track... that's just the point.

RideIcon 04.07.2007 10:47 PM

Its true, even the m5 4 door can hang pretty well with a vette, and it had 4 door and everything else and weighs more, thats kinda the point, it can do what the vette can plus more

glassdoctor 04.07.2007 11:01 PM

You mean it an ALMOST do what a vette can do... lol...

If you happened to see the article about that car in Popular Science recently, The Veyron's engine actually makes ~3000 horsepower. Unfortunately, ~2000 horsepower is lost directly to heat. Which is why the car has to have 12 radiators.
