Nice!! got to love the Power!!

lutach 05.27.2007 07:34 PM

New video of the truck 88MPH!!!!

WOW!!! 88MPH out of a 15+ pounds truck. The video says everything.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9xFJ_tmxVg

If anyone has any tips on how to make it faster, please let me know. I want to make it go 100MPH.

lutach 05.27.2007 07:39 PM

I just got finished reading RC Car Action that showed the 2006 speed event and the fastest truck was a Savage that went 61+ MPH. I guess I have a new record then.

aqwut 05.27.2007 10:42 PM

Yes you do my friend... Very nice video...

Is the radar in MPH or KPH?.. it's looks like KPH..:)

jnev 05.27.2007 11:07 PM

Thats is just incredible. Congrats on the record!!

Romster 05.27.2007 11:12 PM

Sweet nice job!

lutach 05.27.2007 11:43 PM

It is actually 88KPH. One of my brothers changed it. I have another video that shows it going 59MPH.

lutach 05.27.2007 11:52 PM

Ok. Here is the link of the truck going 59MPH:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xi46jpkLIv0

I will get a motor with a higher Kv to see if this truck can get moving faster.

aqwut 05.28.2007 12:13 AM

Again, very nice video...

aqwut 06.02.2007 12:21 PM

C'mon lutach.. faster, faster, faster.... with those batteries.. you should be pumping out 80MPH with that MT... 10S 4300mah A123 = 5000+ watts.. you should be smokin'.. give me ur batteries, I'll test them for you :)

lutach 06.02.2007 04:10 PM

Well, I wish I had more time. My daughter is autistic and finding a trustworthy person to watch her is difficult. I just ran the numbers real quick. With the set up I had with the 22T pinion and 65T spur, 3.3 diffs, motor running at 38880RPMs and 5.5 diameter tires, it shows a potential top speed of 65MPH and I went 59MPH. Now I'll try it with one 36V pack and a 51T spur. The numbers shows a potential speed of 83MPH. I just hope I can keep the truck under control at the location I'm running at. It is a bit dusty from all the constructions.

lutach 06.02.2007 04:12 PM

After I do a run with the new set up and everything goes well, I'll try it with 12S lipos. It should have a potential to go 102MPH.

lutach 06.02.2007 07:16 PM

New controller fried!!!LOL!!!!

Well, things are not going my way. Here is a close look at my CC Pheonix HV110.

The great HV110 seems not so great now. What will CC say about this?

lutach 06.03.2007 03:25 PM

I will give this a try!!!!

I'll give this bad boy a try. Lets hope it doesn't smoke.

omfg, that's wonderful. Look forward to seeing it run with that:027:

lutach 06.03.2007 05:05 PM

Everything is hooked up and tomorrow I'll try it out. I did a quick test and everything is running, but tomorrow I will see how good this thing is.

lutach 06.03.2007 09:07 PM

I have decided to try the 12S lipos. I just hope everything holds up and nothing blows. Here are some pictures:

aqwut 06.04.2007 12:20 AM

Now that's what I'm talkin' about.. I use to run 2 of those Shulze pancakes.. :) What size and C rating lipos are you using Dude..?

lutach 06.04.2007 12:48 AM

The lipos are 3600mAh rated at 20C. I hope it is enough.

suicideneil 06.05.2007 08:24 PM

That really is a rather strange yet cool chassis design. And the speedo.... if that doesnt handle the power nothing will. Speed wise, I be happy with 35-40mph, but as with everything in life you just end up wanting more! Good luck dude.

supralover72 06.05.2007 09:58 PM

I think that esc's catch phrase is "the only esc you have to hold with 2 hands" lol.

Love the truck and vids, keep 'em up!

lutach 06.05.2007 11:30 PM

Today wasn't a good day. It was windy here in NJ, but the wind wasn't the problem. Check out the 2 pictures:

http://www.rcpics.net/view_single.php?medid=85089
http://www.rcpics.net/view_single.php?medid=85090

It still went 59MPH, but I slowed down because of the tires:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CayHRm5QowI

I will put my foam tires on and try again another day. The foam tires are a bit smaller in diameter, but it will have to do for now. The lipos that I used are worthless. A few cells seems to have puffed after the run. For the next run I will bring my 36v packs down to about 30v and wire them in series. Lets see how that motor and foams like 60v. I'm also going to see if I can change the center diff and put my solid center in the truck.

aqwut 06.06.2007 12:48 AM

:) I don't know if that ESC will take 60 volts dude... the solid center would be nice.. or you can find some way to lock the center diff. I like where your project is going...

lutach 06.06.2007 07:38 AM

aqwut,

I just rounded ot te numbers. I'm thinking of bringing the pack's voltage down to about 28.5 to 29 volts. That should be near the limit of the ESC.

aqwut 06.06.2007 08:14 AM

Very cool dude... I'm sure you're gonna break some Monster Truck speed records...

lutach 06.06.2007 09:28 AM

When are you going to join the fun? LOL!!!

NiCad 06.06.2007 09:47 AM

WOW Major props. I like the build, I like the fact your pushing limits.

Subscribing, I want to see what you do next......;)

Procharged5.0 06.06.2007 09:57 AM

Lutach....

Dude! You're crazy! But I can't wait to see how it turns out! Good luck with it!

lutach 06.06.2007 10:15 AM

I have to give Bomb-Proof Products a lot of credit on this truck. It is simply taking the abuse. I think we all need to do HV projects like this so manufactures will put out some real ESC that puts the power out and can handle HV.

waterdog49 06.06.2007 12:03 PM

in the [HV] r/c fast electric boating community we refer to the Schulze 40-160 controls as Pop Tarts... a reference to thier size

you picked the right esc for this mission... good luck sir!

Ron

lutach 06.06.2007 01:43 PM

There is a bigger controller out there and I'm trying to see if I can get my hands on one. It is rate at 200A and can handle 14S lipos. How is beautifull Florida?

Waterdog...Welcome to the forums. I have a good friend in Jacksonville and family south of Ft. Meyers.

lutach 06.06.2007 01:48 PM

I've been checking the boat forums and you guys are sure having fun. There is one guy with 4 40.160 and 4 Pletenbergs in his boat. Good Lord.

waterdog49 06.06.2007 01:57 PM

Florida is still beautiful and thanks..

this forum is a god-send for an old SAWS [straightline record time trials] fast electric boater with a new interest in r/c monster trucks like me...

i've been reading posts for 3-days trying to get a handle on my new project 8IGHT-T roller...

the answers to my questions are all here!

ClodMaxx 06.06.2007 02:20 PM

lol - i perked up when i read that, too. video, video, video! :027:

edit: i think mr. lehner may own this one. 140mph!

lutach 06.06.2007 08:30 PM

I did a quick test to see if the solid center would hold up and it did. The front right shaft didn't. I have to change that. Good thing I stocked them. Everything is in good shape, but I'll only go with one 36v pack this time.

suicideneil 06.07.2007 12:36 PM

Only one 36v pack.... you make it sound like thats not a lot of power!:005:
Good luck with the next run.
