You should not go beyond the recommended gear ratio for this system, but maybe one tooth is possible and no more so there will be no excessive load on the system.

on 14 cells, it will be pretty peppy with that gearing. Low gearing is the way to go with 14 cells on that system.

ok good hopefully ill get my HV by 2day
ugg had to babysit the nextdoors kids and i dont get no pay

I tried your plan on the two hv maxx system. It did ok. I am running the g maxx x brace chassis. I took the hvmaxx off. I have it sitting in a box. I run a 7 xl nemisis. It runs circles around the daul hv maxx set up.

Shadow350Z 07.05.2005 11:51 PM

dyou try higher tooth? on pinion and lowest on spur?

captain harlock 07.06.2005 01:07 PM

If you use that way then you will get a tall ratio( more speed, lower torque, fast drainage of battery and heat issues), but low the no. of teeth on the PN and increase it on the SR for more torque and effeciency.

Shadow350Z 07.06.2005 01:11 PM

no not all the way high on pinion and not all the way low for the spur
like jus enough for speed and great torque still

captain harlock 07.06.2005 02:49 PM

Just adjust and try the truck with different spurs and pinions back and forth till you find the optimal gearing for your truck.

Shadow350Z 07.06.2005 03:41 PM

mines fine at 12/70 with one hv right now =)

coolhandcountry 07.06.2005 07:29 PM

The hv maxx is rated at 375 watts of power. If you run a different brushless motor. you can get more power from same cells. Not downing the novak though. It is a nice motor. It just wasn't strong enough for me. I used to run a 14 72 with my novak. It did decent.

captain harlock 07.06.2005 08:33 PM

So long as he is happy with the setup, then there is no need to scare him this much.

Shadow350Z 07.06.2005 10:56 PM

lol im not scared
the Novak is fine for me right now
cuz theres not much running space here too much traffic on the streets and too many kids playing on the grass and on the woodchip playground
i cant even get it to top speed cuz not enuff street

captain harlock 07.07.2005 01:09 AM

Then what are you going to do when you get the fast setups like the Feigaos and the Lehners?!!! YOU will surely be scared of the power they have.

Shadow350Z 07.07.2005 01:41 AM

nope
by then i might get a econd HV to make Dual HV
lil faster but still racable

Not very well, from experience my batteries fell out often when I rolled. I now use zip-ties (cable-ties) to hold them in aswell as the G3 straps.

captain harlock 07.07.2005 01:42 PM

I personally hate the zip ties very much, because they're a bit slippy. Probably you didn't tie the straps very tight.

coolhandcountry 07.07.2005 03:40 PM

The novak is a nice motor. If you don't have the room it is all you will need. Some real good cells will wake it up better than any thing.
