OK now the pics.

The details on the battery: Maxamps 4s 5000mah

Just to give you an idea on the space that is available.

cemetery gates 12.13.2007 11:29 PM

Looks great, sign me up for one! One question though, would a lipo 44mm x 50mm x 145mm aprox. fit? Thanks!

Bye:mdr:

BlackedOutREVO 12.13.2007 11:31 PM

Thats incredible!

Very nice, Makes me want one lol

MTBikerTim 12.13.2007 11:39 PM

That's pretty sweet. When can we get one :yipi:?

A fatter pack, say 5/6s will fit too won't it? Can't quite tell from the photo. Looks like it would if the pack can lye the other way.

jhautz 12.13.2007 11:48 PM

Looks like there will be plenty of room for batteries. Can you show a straight top down view of the whole truck with the battery in it. It would give a much better idea of the spce available both in front of the battery and beween the battery and the motor.

No matter what It looks like a winner to me. Are preorders available???

EDIT: Love the ESC Mount. Looks like it will work for the MM or MGM very well. An idea though...If you make it a little bigger you could make it a perfect size to use as a Quark heatsink too. Just make it the same size as the quark case.

I like it too. It's always hard to find a good spot for the esc. That spot looks perfect other then possible damage from shock tower flex. Shouldn't be a problem with the shocks mounted in front of the towers like in the pictures. I'm using plastic towers and they can bend a massive amount in a bad landing.

stampedeproject 12.14.2007 12:27 PM

Very Nice!

Jamie,

Looks great and plenty of room for huge packs.

I just received an e-mail from Gina at Fastlane. She says the kits will be out next week. Hurray!

MTBikerTim 12.15.2007 01:01 AM

Awesome. :yipi:  :yipi:  :yipi:

Purplefade 12.15.2007 03:08 AM

FLM, any chance an A123 will fit down in there?? And if yes, how many, 5, 6, 7

Thanks!!

Kenny135 12.19.2007 12:53 PM

Will this conversion kit allow the transmission to have reverse or is it forward only?

Good question. Probably not enough space for the servo for the tranny reverse but that's crap any way. You could lock the tranny in second and have reverse I think.

Fast Lane 12.19.2007 05:14 PM

There really is no room in between the tvps for the reverse servo. Maybe you could get a micro servo in there? Or if that would even work?
I never ran my Savage with reverse, so I am not used to having it.
I am sure you could put the servo on the outside of the tvps. I think the best thing would be to lock in the tranny if you really wanted reverse.

As for the a123 cells. I have stick packs and they fit just fine.

BlackedOutREVO 12.19.2007 06:51 PM

Yeah, lock it up in 2nd, and you will have reverse....

Awesome kit, I wish I had the $$$

Kenny135 12.19.2007 08:36 PM

How do I lock the tranny in second gear? Also wouldn't that make my truck take off slower? What if I run a three speed tranny, would I only need to lock the second gear? Thanks.

When you lock it in second gear you need to remove the other gears or at least stop them engaging or some nasty stuff will happen. There are threads around here on how to lock the tranny. It's possible though that a micro servo may do the trick if you want to use the reverse module.

That's great new on the stick pack thing too jamie. When are we going to see this thing in the stores and who is going to be the first to stock it? or is it still in testing? Sorry I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Fast Lane 12.20.2007 11:34 AM

The conversion is out of testing and production has already begun a few days ago. The only thing we are waiting for is the drive shafts to come back from heat treat. I am hoping they will be done by 12/20. As soon as we get the shafts the kits will be sent to rc-monster. He will have the kits exclusively for some time.

As for the reverse: I am sure you could get it to work. But for now there will be nothing in the kit to allow it to bolt on. However if you really want it on there we can help.

Awesome. Thanks for the info Jamie. Now I just have to start hassling Castle for them to release the Monster Max . I'm still picking up this chassis and then I'll decide on my battery pack and go from there.

sjcrss 12.20.2007 10:29 PM

That looks sweet as heck, very nice, also thanks for the info to Jamie

I'm in the same boat. My truck is just sitting here collecting dust, I have everything for it except the chassis!.....

What happened? Any news?

cemetery gates 01.07.2008 08:58 PM

Update? When is the kit going to be released? :oh:

MTBikerTim 01.07.2008 09:11 PM

I'd have the same question too but I'm still suffering from Christmas cash flow problems. It would still be nice to know how it's coming though.

Fast Lane 01.09.2008 05:19 PM

All is done, and the kits are on there way to rc-monster.

We did add a few things to the conversion.

We now include the center skid, included some spacers to space out one tvp to allow additional room for large batteries.
And we stretched it an additional 7.5mm giving it a total extension over stock of 50mm.

MTBikerTim 01.09.2008 06:21 PM

You have no idea how big the grin on my face is.

BlackedOutREVO 01.09.2008 07:51 PM

Im actually thinking of starting a BL savvy lol, I need a motor for my .5, but this is sooo tempting!

RC-Monster Mike 01.10.2008 02:01 AM

Get 'em while their hot. Tracking says I should have them by noon 1/10/08. :)

BlackedOutREVO 01.10.2008 02:09 AM

Dang! The price went up 45 bucks from what FLM said?

I cant wait to see peoples conversions =)

[QUOTE=BlackedOutREVO;140035]Dang! The price went up 45 bucks from what FLM said?QUOTE]

Yeah...I think Jamie spoke to soon when he suggested a price earlier on in this thread. The kit now inludes a custom skid, got extended slightly from the original prototype, as well as several other additions. Jamie and I agreed to work on making a complete, balanced , no-compromise kit and adjust the price accordingly when we achieved this objective. There really is quite a bit of stuff for the price. Extended Tvps, motor mount, servo mounts, drive shafts, esc mount, battery mount accomodations, etc. - it is actually quite a bargain all things considered. Cheap? Not exactly, but certainly a high value for your conversion dollar. :)

jhautz 01.10.2008 02:38 AM

The revo motor mount alone is $60. This kit includes a slightly modified version of that mount in it. A set of extended TVPs is $60, so just those 2 items alone are worth $120. The remaining $65 is a total deal for everthing else included in this kit.

MTBikerTim 01.10.2008 02:42 AM

I'm e-mailing mike some questions already. Why haven't castle release the MMM yet, this would be perfect.

lincpimp 01.10.2008 03:12 AM

Squeak, time for a savage!

lincpimp 01.10.2008 03:36 AM

What body would be used on this, now that it is 2" longer?

I didnt say it was expensive, just wondering.... If I had the money (or I didnt order my NEU) Id buy buying the kit, and all the stuff to make it a roller probably yesterday......

But I want my NEU:party:

cemetery gates 01.10.2008 07:54 PM

Thank you, the kit is ordered! Cant wait, its gonna get a 3 speed.....

Bye:mdr:

MTBikerTim 01.10.2008 08:01 PM

I haven't ordered mine cause I don't know wyhat I need to get with it. I also don't want to do more then one order either cause mike ships via expensive mail.

Just started my build and wanted to let people know that a Neu 1521 will fit. Just add a frame spacer under the 4 motor mount bolts and it will lift the motor high enough to clear the rear part of the frame. And of course some Dremel work on the front mount for the 4mm screws the Neu uses.

BlackedOutREVO 01.12.2008 08:38 PM

So it looks like you have to get a smooth can?

And also, hurry up and finish it!

david lamontagn 01.13.2008 01:01 AM

Where the batterie goes on this frame:oh: Is they have enough room for a flighpower 5s pack??????

And how about the rigidity of this frame, this is a simple 6061-T6??????
