I hope it turns out they way you like.

Pedebeater 02.07.2008 07:40 PM

Thank you very much. I do too.

This guy seems promising.

Takedown 02.07.2008 08:02 PM

Ya thats why Im having him make me one to.

Pedebeater 02.07.2008 09:45 PM

Good luck with yours too. They should both be well made.

Any other comments/questions?

pipeous 02.07.2008 10:24 PM

so you aren't using a pinion then and hooking the motor direct to the shaft?

Pedebeater 02.07.2008 10:26 PM

Yep, two shafts from the motor directly to the front and rear diffs. Should be sweet.

Takedown 02.07.2008 10:29 PM

Its gonna have absolute raw power.

Pedebeater 02.07.2008 10:38 PM

Thats what I'm lookin for! lol

Wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for you Takedown, Thanks.

Takedown 02.07.2008 10:53 PM

I try sometimes.

vadda 02.11.2008 07:05 AM

Hi,
your project is very intresting.
Just i don't understand how you can put diff cups on both side of this motor ?!??!
Output shaft is on one side only.....

Pedebeater 02.11.2008 05:27 PM

There is a way to get the shaft to come out on both sides. You need to take the motor apart and slide the shaft down, you also need to make a new flatened space on the shaft for the grub screw to grip onto. You can also use a prop adapter, but I will not be doing it that way.

You can ask Takedown for more info on that procedure.

vadda 02.12.2008 09:32 AM

Thanks,
it's clear.

Pedebeater 02.20.2008 07:02 PM

I just ordered the motor and a pair of rcm 8mm couplers. I am also still waiting for the custom mount. I might have everything by late next week.

I will be sure to post pics then. Any other comments?

Pedebeater 02.23.2008 11:47 PM

I received my motor and rcm couplers (Very impressed with the quality of both pieces), still awaiting the mount. Here are some pics.

Please let me know what you think.

Pedebeater 02.24.2008 09:22 PM

Now that I did the shaft mod I can mount a coupler on both sides of the motor. Let me know what you think.;)

lincpimp 02.24.2008 09:49 PM

Looks good, have you fabbed up a motor mount yet?

Pedebeater 02.24.2008 09:52 PM

I am having a friend machine it out of aluminum. I should have it late this week into next week.

Thank you for the comments

Good to hear, can't wait to see it mounted!

Takedown 02.24.2008 10:13 PM

I think you have a good plan. Good luck with the rest of the build!

suicideneil 02.25.2008 02:46 PM

That motor looks rather neat with the custom yolks- potent...

Takedown 02.25.2008 03:42 PM

The yokes are extremely well built/machined. Now I know why there $13 a peice. I plan to order (4) of them here soon because the motor Im getting has 8mm shafts on both ends and my bevels are both 8mm. $50 for yokes. Never would of thought I would be spending that much for something so minor. lol

Pedebeater 02.26.2008 05:18 PM

THey are very well made. I feel safe with them, especially since they are hardened steel.

fishmasterdan 03.23.2008 12:17 PM

How this project coming along??

Takedown 03.24.2008 11:48 AM

Slowly but surely... He's still waiting for his custom mount to arrive like me.

Pedebeater 03.29.2008 01:00 AM

Sorry for not replying, just got back from vacation, California.:intello: Once I get the mount I will size everything up and get some pics for sure.

Takedown 03.29.2008 10:27 AM

Hey did you enjoy it? When I went to tell you the truth I enjoyed colorado much more. I loved the beaches though.

Takedown 03.30.2008 01:33 PM

Me to... The guy is taking his good ole time on my mount to.

Pedebeater 03.30.2008 02:08 PM

He might have it done, and if not real soon. I promise as soon as I get that mount I will get some great pics and vids. This will turn out really nice.

brushlessboy16 04.09.2008 07:57 AM

Pedebeater 05.05.2008 05:44 PM

ufortunatly I am still waiting for the mount. I am trying to find something to make a temporary mount with. I will be sure to let you know.

brushlessboy16 05.05.2008 06:03 PM

Hey PB i just made one out of angle aluminum (2x2x 1/8th)... it works great with no flex at all

Just wondering since i have the same motor as you, how in the world did u get the stupid cclip off the front of the shaft???

big greg 05.05.2008 09:34 PM

geez that guy must have died! i would go somewhere else with my business lol

Takedown 05.06.2008 07:27 AM

He's really getting on my nerves right now... Getting it doen little by little.

brushlessboy16 05.06.2008 07:33 AM

telling you guys... just get some 2in aluminum angle

Pedebeater 05.06.2008 04:47 PM

TakeDown got us some 1/4in pleziglass that we are making some temporary mounts with. He saved the day again.

brushlessboy16 05.06.2008 05:00 PM

just get aluminum, he even told me that plexiglass or poly carb wouldnt work

lincpimp 05.06.2008 05:21 PM

Depends on the design, plexiglass that thick should be ok.
