I little birdie has told me we may have a bolt on 32p gear very very soon

This will be perfect because it allows common 1/8" pinions to be used....

jnev 05.03.2007 11:22 PM

Did the little birdie tell you a date when this will happen?:005:

that would be perfect. I still have all my pinions from the emaxx so I wouldn't even need buy any more gears.:018:

I like the sound of the extended chassis.

However, the Pro version does not come with the upgraded shock towers. The upgraded are even thicker but include cutouts to save weight. They are stiffer though (in my opinion, not really a big deal because as far as I can tell the shock towers are stiff as hell).

With these options they can make a real pro kit version.. I don't understand why the current version is considered a pro kit..

BP-Revo 05.04.2007 02:05 AM

I honestly think that someone in advertising just threw in the Pro in front of the word "kit" when they went to release it.

Nope, no news yet. Getting kinda anxious now too.

BlackedOutREVO 05.15.2007 05:13 PM

yeah i bet! i hope its done soon, i hope to buy the .5 soon, just hope his mount is still in stock!

pullstarter 06.01.2007 08:09 PM

Firstly excellent thread and great project Brian. I was curious to know what you guys thought of using a Novak BL on nimhs in the CRT .5? I already have many nimh packs (good quality 4200s) and Novak GTB 5.5 system so it would be a fairly thrifty exercise for me, what do you think the performance would be like?

GO-RIDE.com 06.11.2007 03:15 PM

I have a CRT.5, GTB, 6.5, and many nimh packs. I'd like to just get the motor mount and used a hardened steel pinion. What pinion would be recommended to use with the stock spur gear?

Thanks, Scott

Hey Brian any update on this little gem? I'm getting one soon(hopefully by Friday!)
Some questions though:
Would a 4s 4000 pack fit? It is 44mm X 137mm X 26mm

Would a 4s 5000 pack fit? It is 45mm X 138mm X 40mm

This doesn't necessarily mean in your battery tray, but in general, opposite side from the servo.

Thanks!

Bye:018:

@pullstarter: Thanks. Sorry I didn't see your reply sooner - it must have slipped by. As to what motor to use; I don't know. I'm sure any S can motor will work just fine if geared appropriately for the voltage applied to get at least 30-35mph.

@GO-RIDE.com: Welcome to the forums! I'm not familiar with the GTB systems, so I can't really offer advice. I was running 16T pinion and was getting some overheating using a MM and 4600 motor on 2s. I have 12T, 13T, and 14T hardened pinions coming (hopefully today) so I should be able to find the sweet spot with one of those. I'm thinking the 13T will be the ticket.

@cemetary: No updates yet. Like I said above, I have some pinions coming. I'm hoping to be up and running for the Wed night electric-only races (that is if there is a class for the CRT.5 to fit in).

Both the 4 and 5Ah batteries are very close in size. If you aren't sure, just make a tray that will fit both. :) There is room front-to-back to fit either of those. I'm using 2s 5Ah packs, so they do fit. I also made the tray usable with 6 NiMH cells just for kicks (pretty nifty if I do say so myself :)). The pic of measurements below was posted a while back, but here it is again for your convenience:
