Just got through this whole thread and all I have to say is WOW.

Oh and it is about time I get to see that freaking monster of an esc put into a car. Ever since it came out on hobbycity I have been wanting to see it in action.

hahaha! if that aint the truth! my wife believes that a custom RTR brushless 1/8 or 1/5 costs roughly $150 to $200 to build. Its a good thing this RC hobby isnt very expensive.

Mikes kit look top notch too!!! Nice1 Mike!

I am currently looking for an ESC (waiting on the MMMXL if thats what they are calling it) But after seeing this turnigy ESC, i am in too minds.

how much did it set you back?
how programmable is it?
Does it allow brakes and reverse or are you using mech brakes?
What are the specs as i just want to use 9s with my neu 1520.

Could you advise? i dont mean to steal your thread, its just i am quite surpriised i have never seen this before!

brian015 06.25.2010 06:10 PM

Normally here:

OSE pistix

but they're out of stock now.

suicideneil 06.25.2010 07:27 PM

^ This is why stick radios > pistol radios, everytime...

Jahay 06.26.2010 04:54 AM

ooo... that esc although impressive specs, has some dodgy reviews... It looks like it cant take a battering if it keeps falling apart...
No Where near as good with the programming compared to castle. But i am considering it for the price

what exactly is that pistix device?

air transmitters (stick radios) and land transmitters (pistol grip radios) use a different pulse width to communicate with speed controls (esc).

The pistix device goes in between your reciever and esc so you can use an air based esc with a land based pistol grip radio.

ah huh... thanks for the explanation, i didnt know that...

4 Attachment(s)
Getting closer to the finish line. Added the wheelie bar and one piece rear hubs. The spur gear is a DDM Hardened Black Magic 58T. The pinion is one of Mike's excellent mod 1.5, 8mm bore-14T.
Getting closer to needing the MMM XL.
