He should know a lot about these charts, I read a post from him saying that they use the CBA analyzer to test their cells. They would really need to use the amplifiers offered by the same company to test at really high wattage.
The next lipos I'll be analyzing will be a pair of NEU 3900 4S 25C constant and a pair of Zippy H 3500 4S 20C constant.

It's official, I am mad at NEU. Graphs from a pair of NEU 3900 mah 4S 25C constant and graphs from a pair of ZIPPY-H 3500 mah 4S 20C constant. Those lipos have the same age and the same amount of cycles on them. Used in the same truck on mostly a race track. Some of the cycles were for bashing and two cycles each of stop and go running when I was testing that aluminum slipper pad.

NEU 3900 4S #1 (in red)

Starting voltage: 16.74 V
Ending Voltage: 12.00 V
Total Time: 36 min. 5 sec.
Tested Capacity: 3545 mah

Total Time: 35 min. 19 sec.
Tested Capacity: 3470 mah

Zippys hold a higher voltage under the same load and yield about the same run time even though they are 3500 mah. The more I play with this CBA, the more I like Hobby King. I'm anxious to get Hyperions and Thunder Powers to analyze those also. But I am not going to get NEU lipos anymore.

Promising news for HC buyers, like myself :yipi:
As much and strongly as I feel about keeping our money here in the US you can't deny the great deal those HC packs are.

You have any CrapAmps packs to test ??

I wish I did have Maxbull lipos to analyze but I never bought any and I don't wish to either. Next lipos I will analyze will be a pair of Zippy-H 5000 3S 20C constant, the very first lipos I bought. And a pair of Flightmax 3000 5S 20C constant. Those are the ones I accidently plugged in series and ran 10S :lol: They got really hot when that happened but did not puff. They were soft to the touch though so I'm anxious to see how bad they are :mdr: They still run without puffing and give me tons of power.

Im pretty sure it was the Neus that were said to run hotter than other lipos, but it was a while ago so dont take my rambling as gospel- sure someone else can chime in to either confirm or deny it. Still, I expected the Neus to work better than that- wonder what the newer ones that do higher discharge rates are like?...

I knew these 5S lipos I ran on 10S were a little damaged. But still the result is surprising. One falls a bit short compared to the other but until it does, it holds about the same voltage under load than the other. Pretty good despite what they went through :mdr: Both lipos charge with no problems and all the cells end up perfectly balanced at 4.205 V.

So who's starting to get bored with my graphs :lol:
Here's the result of the pair of Zippy-H 5000 mah 3S 20C constant I have. They are my oldest packs but they are not the ones with the most cycles. Around 20 cycles, I didn't really keep track for those lipos as I use them more for the fun factor they give.

It depends on the number of cells you plug into the CBA. It let me test at 10 amps for 2S but would ask me to go down to 5.9 amps for 4S. A Techy could probably answer why. Westmount Radio is the company that makes the CBA. They also make 500 watt amplifiers to use with the CBA. That's 120 amps you could test one cell with. They also talk about a harness to be able to use up to four of those 500 watt amplifiers for a total of 2000 watts so that's like 476 amps is it? :surprised: I hope I'm explaining this the correct way. I kinda read quickly through their description on their site.

Those amplifiers are a bit pricey though at $730.00

I want to play RC with my son
 
Long story here so bare with me. I introduced my little boy to RCs when he was 4 years old. I let him run my nitro Revo one day with the throttle set to 30% on the radio and taught him the basics of driving an RC car. I was surprised at how fast the little bugger learned to turn, brake and in general have a good control of an RC. So I bought him a Losi Mini T. He likes it a lot but it's a little small. He really likes race cars so I am presently rebuilding an old Tamiya TL-01 on road car. He should like this one also but I really want him to be able to play with daddy with big toys, namely Revos. The mini T is too small and the TL-01 is on road so I need to build him an ERevo.
Here's my plan, I have several spare parts for both my nitro Revo (which is not being used lately) and my ERBE. Including complete diffs, tranny, MMM combo, etc. So here's the plan, get a Kershaw Design chassis for my ERBE and whatever is salvaged from my ERBE doing the chassis swap, with stuff from the nitro Revo and the spare parts, make a secong ERBE which would be my son's. I have a couple of Turnigy 4500mAh 2S2P 30C LiFePo4 Packs coming in so it would be a little slower than mine but that would be good. I might still have to adjust the throttle on the radio to make it even slower. A ten pound truck coming at 35 mph might break a five year old boy's bones you know.
What do you think? Good plan? Anyone wnat to buy some nitro stuff? Engines, pipes, glow plugs :lol:

Of course, if I get a Kershaw Design chassis, I would document the swap and post pics in this thread as I always do. And then hope to have some run time to test before the snow comes.

Sounds like a great plan, The boy should really love it.

A 10lb MT and anyones bone are a bad combonation at 35mph. Batter safe than sorry with the young lad.

Yes he's very good at controlling his Mini T but an ERBE is very different. I would also gear it so it would go as slow as possible, biggest spur and smallest pinion available. 15 to 18 mph would be plenty until he really gets used to it.
