I know the diameter is bigger on the 1717 than the 1515s but are the mounting holes the same?

suicideneil 03.13.2010 07:09 PM

25mm hole spacing & M4 holes/screws.

Unless Im trippin' again. :mdr:

Are the listed motor lengths on the CC site with or without the shaft?

rotary rocket 03.18.2010 01:48 PM

Is there a new ETA on the 2025? TIA.

That's a 1512, a 1717, and a 2025 motor side-by-side.

This is true for all motors listed on our site. I'll ask our webmaster to add that to our motor listings to avoid future confusion; that should have already been up there. My bad.

For those of you needing a 5mm shaft rotor, please e-mail me your information and I'll make sure we get you on the list. It may come with a prepaid mailer to send the 6mm version back, but that has not been decided yet. I'll check with our international liaison and see if there's an updated ETA.

My e-mail address is: Thomas (at) castlecreations (dot) com.

SWEET!! I almost have a set of tires worn down from pushing my truck back and forth on the floor making vroom vroom noises.

And how long is the shaft on the 1520/1717? Around 20mm? But I can still cut it short if needed.

They are 18-21mm, 20mm on average.

Same size bolt pattern, ~ 25.4mm center hole to center hole; 3mm screws on both.

That means you could fit a 1717 motor to the mini E-Revo tenbol mount. A motor that weighs more than the car? I don't see a problem with that! :)

Would be cool, but you couldn't gear it high enough to take advantage of the torque it makes. You you need an output multiplier...

Aren't the screws on the 1717 4mm?

NickRummy 03.20.2010 07:47 AM

They are 4mm on mine. Thought they were 3mm too like listed in the specs but they arent. Atl least the older ones arent.

Thomas Porfert 03.20.2010 12:54 PM

I'll have to double check a production motor on Monday. I was measuring a prototype motor in engineering, so it may have changed before it hit production. I was thinking 3mm seemed a bit small for that size motor, but I'll verify on Monday; sorry for the confusion.

How does the 1520 compare to the 1717 in terms of torque? It's a bit longer, does that mean more torque? Or is that a matter of diameter?

I'm gonna dump the 2200 out of the Flux and get a 1520, just enough room to mount it and the diameter is the same. I'd have to make a new mount for the 1717.

Will it suck on 4S?

nuz69 04.02.2010 07:05 PM

It will suck on 4S if you dont gear up a lot. The 1717 rotor is larger, therefore magnetic forces are stronger, and it has more torque than the 1520, but it draws a little more amp than the 1520 (less runtimes).
