speedracer1129, did they bill your credit card/paypal before they shipped your motors?
Because I pre-ordered my Medusa 36-80 on October 27th and in my bank account summary there is absolutely no record of any charge from Medusa.
And right after I ordered my motor I got the email saying I had ordered it and it was the invoice, then shortly after I got another email saying something about it being on back-order, maybe this was because I pre-ordered it?

Here is a copy of both of the emails -

And I have never received any other emails from them since.

Hmm, should be there soon.

Unsullied_Spy 12.13.2008 07:16 PM

Nice! Mine should be here very soon, I got my order in really early.

Mozzy 12.13.2008 08:20 PM

Hmmmm, I hope mine get here soon too.

That looks HUGE over the 60mm, if that is one. What one did you get?

gogglespaesano 12.13.2008 09:41 PM

Krawlin, I preordered mine on oct. 14 and they charged my account that day. I payed with paypal though.

Still waiting on mine.

Do you think the medusa 4800 v2 will work in a slash with the mamba max esc.

Should work fine on both 2s and 3s. It'll be rough on parts but it'll be plenty powerful.

slash_48 12.15.2008 06:35 PM

How does the Medusa 4800 compare to the castle 5700 power wise.

suicideneil 12.15.2008 09:14 PM

Medusa is 4 pole, cc5700 is 2 pole, so you get alot more torque with the M.

4800kv vs 5700kv so the castle motor will be faster on the same voltage, but you would use the extra torque of the Medusa to let you gear taller with less heat to worry about in principle. Depends which vehicle you stick the motor in, and which size motor you choose exactly as the cc36 motors are only S can really.

Unsullied_Spy 12.16.2008 02:05 AM

Medusa motors also have longer rotors and coils, giving them more torque. Mamba motors are good, but it depends on what you're going to put it in.

Anyone one had a chance to run the 80mm yet? How do they compare to an equivalent kv rated Feigao XL. Especially temps wise.

As stated above, the CC motors have shorter coil area than the 50mm Medusa. The Medusa coils leave about 5-8mm on each end of the case, whereas the CC motors leave about 20mm on one end (room for the connection between the coil wires and the noodle wire) and 5-8mm on the other. So, the CC is kinda a "sub-S" motor.

Other differences:

Medusa = 4 pole, CC = 2 pole (as you said)
Medusa = slotted stator, CC = slotless stator

Bleedin' know-it-all..

If Im right in guessing that this is an enguiry for the Slash's ideal motor, I'd say the medusa 50 or 60mm motor is plenty really.

Every place has at least one!

My Slash had a 5700 running on 10 cells (geared 58/13) and it got kinda hot running it for the ~15 minutes the batteries would last. I recently got a Medusa 36-50-2200 and will run that on 4s 5Ah cells, but am still waiting for other parts to finish it. Once they do, I can get results, but I anticipate good things...
