This may sound crazy but when I'm on vacation, I often will grab the local phone book and lookup the local hobby store. Call, them and ask where the nearest off-road track is. Then I go and watch a race. I've found that in one or two calls, no matter where in the US I am, I can locate a track. So option one would be to make some calls to local tracks. Another great resource is this:
http://www.rccaraction.com/rc/info/rctrack_srch.asp It's the track directory from RC Car Action Magazine. I doubt it is complete but it gives you a quick way to search for all tracks in your state. Check it out and definately get out there and race, it's amazing how much fun you can have and how great it can be to share the hobby with others. The guys at my local track have become some of my best friends and they have helped me to become a better mechanic and racer....check it out. David M |
The motor is a Lehner 1940/8. I was using the MGM 160/16 controller, but was struggling to get the parameters set to my liking. I did manage to get it set up today, though(unfortunately, it is a couple days too late!)!.
Thanks a bunch for posting the pictures, Joe. And thanks a BIG BUNCH for helping me wrench on my trucks all day in the blistering heat on Saturday. It was a pleasure to meet you and hang out for the day, even though the heat was all but unbearable. I thought I would never heare from you again (figured the wife would kill you for coming home so late!)! Glad you survived the beatings when you got home! :) |
Oh, the chassis braces and lower plate are stock g2 parts. There are new skids and upper plates to complete the conversion.
|
Thanks. Iwas wondering if it was a few custom parts or a total rethink.
|
Blistering heat, eh? Sounds awfull. Nice to have a personal wrencher, though.
If ever it is freezing cold, and no snow on the track, call me up. I can rebuild a diff with frozen fingers! Would love to be your pit-boy. Congrats to MacII for taking the win! |
the motor is a lehner 1940/8. The Electric Revo sure did turn some heads as well.Especially when I floored it on the straight!

the 8 stands for 8 turn.
Thanks for the vid, Joe! |
Does anybody have any more video of the G-REVO? I am very interested in this setup. Hey Mike. will the carbon fiber battery plate work on this conversion?
|
I've got about 8.5 minutes of video on the E-Revo. Once I get it finished and run it by Mike, we'll get it posted.
|
Yes, the CF battery tray will work. there will also be a CF version(except the skids) of the whole conversion.
|
Wow, I can't wait to see more video.
Whats the weight of that bad boy, rtr with the lipo's? What are you thoughts of the Lipo's being exposed from the bottom plate? More importantly, when will the conversion kit be available? It's simply the nicest e-revo conversion ever... |
No troubles so far with the Lipos. I run them in the g-maxx also(batts a little lower) with no issues so far. RTR with 5s Lipo it weighs a touch over 9 pounds.
Should be available soon. I don't have an exact date yet, though |
Thanks Mike. thats what i like about this forum you ask a question, get an answer within the day.
