I had it in my truggy, but 2P though. If I had a 80V or 100V controller I would run 72V for sure.

I'm goin' into the competition with an estimated 11100 Watts continuous power.... Do you guys think that would be enough for the RWD 1/5th scale?... i should weigh less than 25Lbs with all electronics, motors and batteries....

No. More is better . That is awesome. You will make that beast fly for sure. Put like this, if a 5HP Max gas engined 1/5 scale went 85MPH, you should happily be well over 100MPH for sure.

aqwut 03.15.2008 03:44 PM

Jmaxximum... went in with 2700 watts last year and had 71MPH... I would like to atleast break 80MPH... When I finish I will test it at the local airport...doesn't get used much... which would be more accurate?... speed gun or GPS?..

triggeraa 03.15.2008 04:13 PM

GPS is more accurate. With speed gun you pretty much have to be directly inline with the oncoming rocket to get accurate speed..

I've heard GPS takes a while to get the reading, but it's accurate. Radar gun can be mounted like some folks do or you can have a friend you don't like so much stay infront of the R/C beast.

aqwut 03.15.2008 08:51 PM

I have a friend that has a radar gun...... I'll use both... does the GPS take more than 1 second to take the reading?...

Yes, also you need to factor in cloud cover satellites available. On a clear day my GPS will get a good reading in about 200FT. I no longer use or trust my radar, I get crazy readings some times.....tree's in my neighbor hood move 20 MPH:oops:

Arct1k 03.15.2008 10:57 PM

How about dual Nue 2230/1Y's on 20s! Thats going to give you some juice!

No 2 motors are alike. In order for them to perform good, they have to be identical. If you own a Aveox motor, you will see that they never have identical RPMs. One of the following will be good: Lehner 30 series, Neu 22 series and Plettenberg Bolido or 370/50/A1.

True, that's why I like the Single brushless...

So who's all going to this Event?. J-maxx, MetalMan, BP-Revo and myself... is anyone else going to be there for the RC-Monster team?.. I gotta get Monster Mike to send me some Stickers... Is there Hydro available at the speedway?... I might need to bring my battery charger, but the powersupply might be too big to bring...
