Are you going to run a single 2s pack or 2 2s packs? If you running the 2 2s packs I would not run stock gearing.

sleepy23 09.22.2005 05:20 PM

its not me running it, so i dont realy care. i think he is running 2 2s packs (or trying to). i am just looking for some runtime figures to see who is right

coolhandcountry 09.22.2005 05:52 PM

geared like that the run time will not be much. gear it about 12 72 get alot better run time and power. Will run a little slower. should get 20 -25 depend on how you run it geared 12 72. Not sure been a while since ran a hv.

There is no really good replacement for the Novak HV controller, except a few from Aveox, but they are not true-car type ESC.
I spoke with a Feigao representative about their line of sensored BL motors and he told me that they are working on controller to run with them. So sooner or later we will have a true car BL setup, sensored motor and ESC.

Novak HV controller has the same weak link as the EVX ESC (I do not want to go too deeply into details) but, it can be modified to outperform any BL ESC on the RC market in terms of the current capacity.

griffin, please elaborate a little.

I did once and scared the entire forum thread. So now I will be a little bit careful about subjects for discussion. But, what would you like me to elaborate on.

how it can be modified to out perform and bl esc on the market.

In respect to current ratings only (other advanced features won't be available without reprogramming the CPU :) )... Single TO-220 (FET package type used in EVX and HV) handles more then SOIC-8 (FET package used in most BL ESC, lots of them) and heat transfer more efficient.

So if you fix (modify) Fet control in HV ESC than in standard configuration (with 2 Fets per phase) you should get 210x2A per phase. Which corresponds to 1.73*2*210A total current capacity. But if i install 3-4 and even get new generation package FET...

the only problem is the voltage it can be ran on. That would stop it from out preform any esc in the world.. ;) (30V just isn't enough..) the spikes that are put thru it with braking are higher, this is in my opinion the reason for the schulzes to burn down)

You could modify the whole layout though, but a very important value in choosing the FET's is the speed it is capable of to work on.

Have you ever check what is available in FET's department?

A high voltage spike occurs due to the switching frequency and motor inductance. To generate voltage from motor while braking higher then battery voltage, motor should spin faster…

I will stop here. Serum maybe we should create a topic on how it works? Because looks like some would like to know the theory behind electronics as well as real-world experience.

I had a thread named that artur. I still not sure but got an idea. I am not brillant and don't know all i should. Kind of ignorant to somethings cause of my education. I am curious to what some of this stuff means. You all sure confuse me some time.

Can you send me a link?

I sure can. Here it is.

the batteries can suffer a loose contact, go ahead, pop schulze an email, they know all about this.
