Thanks bro. I haven't seen you much in the traxxas forums lately. By the way, you have a nice truck there. I was thinking of going through the same route you did but I got impatient. I just want to experience brushless power right away.

Is that your 4WD in your avatar? Looks like a garage to me!

Aircraft carrier, hmmmmmmm, they don't really have sides do they?

I can't see captain nemo turning around & dropping divers to retrieve your wet truck in a hurry.
Good luck with the new post & truck.

Yup, that's my garage in my house in Florida. The truck is in storage in CA.

Oh no, I won't be running the truck on the flight deck. It's more in the hangar bay which is the same area as the flight deck. No chance of running it into the ocean .

George16 06.14.2008 02:53 AM

Here's a short video of the second run:
http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h..._13Jun2008.jpg

It's very powerful. I have not taken any temp readings but I can put my hand on the motor or battery without getting burned.

BL_RV0 06.14.2008 12:37 PM

Very Nice.

George16 06.15.2008 04:15 AM

Here's another vid with a couple of passes. The winds are still howling like the other day. Temps after about 20 minutes of speed runs:
ESC - 92dF
Motor - 125dF
batteries - 85dF

That's the mouth of Tokyo Bay in the background.

suicideneil 06.15.2008 12:53 PM

Dem good temps

George16 06.15.2008 08:10 PM

It just dawned on me last night. I was initially thinking of cutting the other "ear" of the motor mounting plate but I changed my mind because it actually helps in cooling down the motor. It helps in dissipating the heat from the motor by providing an extra surface area for cool down.

By the way, that's the stock 3906 motor mount which I deanodized using oven cleaner.

Great videos!. Nice build George!..

George16 06.16.2008 11:28 AM

Thanks.

I did some more mods tonight by installing the Gorilla maxx single speed tranny I scored from Ebay for $50. It was a complete tranny and also came with the traxxas lightweight shafts.

Anyway, here are some pictures:

Great Truck....Nice Vids too

Those PVC stands is a pure genius, this is the 2nd time i saw it. Im still bout to make mine :)

My Truck is yet to run. Still waiting for my MMM

OT: on one of the vids I hear you speak a foreign language or was it a guy watching your truck? Just curious

George16 06.16.2008 10:00 PM

That was Tagalog or Philippine language. Two of my neighbors were asking me how fats and powerful the truck is. I speak the language too, by the way.

The PVC stand was the brainchild of one of the traxxas forum moderators.

TruckBasher 06.16.2008 10:12 PM

Cool I speak that language too :)

Good luck with the rest of the mods...

Keep the vids and pics coming
