Shoot for yourself..
8L would not be my choice anyway.. 9L or 10L would be come first. Perhaps his batts where lazy and getting more and more awake after the times he charged them. it's very simple. Two motors with 90 and 90 percent efficiency can be geared to meet the exact same preformance. Perhaps his feigao wasn't in the optimal range the plett was in.. He needed a different turn of L motor to give a good compare. But trust me, the plettenberg has a nasty startup cog.. the larger the ratio, the less you will see/notice it. the feigao's on a 9920 are smoother than a bigmaxx on a 18.97 and it's not really the plettenbergs that concern me.. It's the schulze controller. I'm just saying that feigao's are unbeatable for their price (they SURE can take it against a plettenberg setup) What would be a more appropriate compare is a 1930 or 1940 motor to the plettenberg. Though the feigao's allready are about the same in performance.. So why waste all that money? you could get set of lipo's with that price difference.. from that point of view, the words overrated are well choosen. |
small update..

working on lightening the bearing/motor mounts..

nice, i like how the battery thing work
|
That looks even better! The battery door hinge is a good idea!
|
That thing looks like it will be pricey to do! I would love one, if you get a quote.
Would definatly consider it! Although for cells, not Lipo? |
i can't get a quote yet, because I'm not done w/ the design lol... I'll prolly redo the entire top deck one more time.. similar layout, but w/ places to mount electronics..
also have to do the front and rear decks that will connect to the bulks/stearing.. and make holes for battery straps in the side braces.. nick, this is for you :) http://img424.imageshack.us/img424/8...subc0ab.th.jpg 22subc's would fit.. but the weight.. ugh. i'm going to edit the chassis, so all those cells will fit though, because I've got two 8cell packs that I'd like to be able to use in this as well.. in that render, i just put the cells in, you can see "clipping" w/ the bottom chassis and the front cell.. |
I've got an offer for 1 or 2 people. I would be willing to do another of these these chassis kits for $250. The reason for this is that it would be much easier to cut Nick's and a couple more at the same time, then it would be to cut them a couple weeks apart. Most of the time on the cnc mill is setup time for the material. If I can bolt up a huge sheet and knock out all 30 pieces in one run, all the better.
Any takers? |
|
i spent a few hours fixing some "small" problems I was having.. rebuild errors disapeared, and I rounded alot of the previously square holes that connect the different chassis peices together.. also changed the chassis ribbing, so SubC sxs packs will fit..
I wanted a break from measurements, so made a holloween pic.. http://img454.imageshack.us/img454/5...er245km.th.jpg |
Looking good, Nick.
|
andrew, you're going to kill me...
but.. how's this look? http://img358.imageshack.us/img358/1...em103ev.th.jpg it makes it look like some sort of bug.. but gives alot more electronics mounting space.. and if you don't kill me for that, what if I requested it machined out of gold? http://img358.imageshack.us/img358/3...er264jh.th.jpg :) |
*shakes his head*
Do you know what you're doing to the cost? |

well I did NEED more surface mounting area.. and it looks oh so pretty now  |
I thought about getting an emaxx done up in gold plating. I think that would be like awesome. Even have the rims done up in gold. Do everything thing else in black.
