Yeah, drilling on hardened steel sucks big time, when i had to mount the batteries on my Ofna, the hard anodized alum. chassis was almost as bad..........or maybe my drill bits just suck.

Thank's you can pm mike he might be able to make one for you like he did for me. Atip for you if your going to drill hardened steel get a carbide bit. It will make drilling so much eaiser. Or since your using a hyper 7 buggy you might be able to use the diff from a monster pirate which has that 51t spur.

Yes, I went through about 4 new carbide bits on 4 holes, it was quite an experience. :C:

For the cost of those bits you could have almost paid for the adapter  . LOL

Your solution looks pretty good thou. I would grind the teeth down to be safe.

I finally got to run my 7XL on 14 cells. I'm very very impressed with it. The motor performs much better on 14 cells.

coolhandcountry 12.20.2005 07:38 PM

Good to hear you happy with it. What kind of speed you getting with it? I am planning on running a 7xl on my buggy as well.

rchippie 12.20.2005 08:43 PM

It's hard to say without a radar gun, but i'm sure it will hang with most nitro buggy's :L: . I would say 30 plus mph if i was guessing.

Romster 12.22.2005 09:23 PM

9xl

How fast were you going with the 9xl on 12 or 14 cells
14/51...
Nice conversion man...

rchippie 12.22.2005 10:17 PM

Rome i run a 7xl on 14 cells not a 9xl. My gearing for now is 12 /51 motor is barly warm aftr 10 min of fun,. So i may gear up.

I finally ran my buggy at the track today. It's a missle :L: , 14 cells 12/51 gear. The straight is 150ft long, so i think i need to go up a tooth or two on the pinion, the motor was only warm not hot. I broke a rear shock shaft in half & lost a rear spring owell. It was still fun even thou i broke :L: .
