I think once it is realeased, that price will change, but, for now... It's there for those dumb enough to pay it.

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.18.2008 06:27 PM

Tower Hobbies always had stupid high prices on new products. It will change at least 50 times before it is out. It is listed at $689.99 - $699.99 at other stores

Those prices are as bogus as the release date on there.. oct 24 :P Towerhobbies needed to get the two new trucks into the system, and dumped in the MSRP's not the actual sell prices.

Pdelcast 10.20.2008 03:31 PM

Now listed as $684.99 at Tower.

Better?

And BTW -- for those of you who doubt our manufacturing capability --

We build about 35,000 controllers a month. We have PLENTY of capacity to handle Traxxas' orders.

Happywing 10.20.2008 04:28 PM

That sounds like a good price! Not only do you get a Monster Max combo, there is a Revo attached to it too!

Patrick are you ready for the complaints that your powerplant is going to break the Revo's drivetrain?

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.20.2008 06:40 PM

Yeah, well the EREVO probably still using those plastic driveshafts. Wonder how long they will last with the MMM, Neu & 6S

I'm pretty sure that should that happen, it'll be Traxxas' territory. It's their truck. But neither company is stupid, and Traxxas will have tested the Revo to the nth degree to ensure it can handle the system. They won't be about to release a truck that can't handle its own powerplant, and so risk losing a load of money from warranty returns. IMO, anyway.

I have a 34mph brushless in my e-revo(feigao 10L) and have a soft start on. I have killed all 4 drive shafts. So I know that a castle combo on 6s will destroy them rather quickly.

Happywing 10.20.2008 08:39 PM

I have a MM/Neu combo in my ERevo. It's got a couple of hours of track/race time on it. It's geared for High 30's to 40mph. No broken parts in the drivetrain.

If that's the case, how come I have not received any notification about the shipping of my V3?

He didn't say they build 35,000 MMM's a month, but that they build 35,000 ESC's a month. Also, he stated in another thread that only 25 V3's were sent out to people as replacements thus far. He said they just received the new cases today at their facility, so it may still be a little bit before others are shipped out. The V3's that shipped already were in the old cases.

I had a Revo with a 1515 1.5D and didn't have a problem with the shafts, but I obliterated the rear diff (yes, it was properly shimmed) in under 1 hour of use. That coupled with other problems (like snapping the chassis) made me sell it. As long as there's room in my non-Traxxas RCs to mount the MMM I'm happy.

Because we aren't building the V3s yet. Late this week we will start.

As has been discussed the MMM in the traxxas pictures are v2 - check the bullets on both sides of the MMM - Traxxas wanted to get this out for iHobby which is not unusual - I'm sure they will be in the shops for around end of Nov for Xmas sales.
