any ideas?

Hmmm

kind of a useless post ryan...

Im pretty sure i can drill out the cups of the CVD to 8mm no problem.. the only thing im worried about is gearing...

What I cant think out loud? I wouldnt worry about this until it actually happends... No point in upgrading something that isnt broke.

if I put the MMM 2200 combo on it it will break

Takedown 02.16.2009 04:28 PM

Your assuming here ben... Thats not exactly true. Your running 4s so it will not be super intense like some setups would be. You may or may not have issues with the driveline. I ran my e-maxx on 5s many times with an 8xl and my HM Car sport esc and it never had any issues with the driveline. Had good power and could pull backflips from a stand still. Alot of blown idlers/spurs but those were upgraded. Its all gearing, weight, shimming, power that determines that outcome...

TexasSP 02.16.2009 06:25 PM

Why not go to mod1 and use a revo spur? There was a thread in here when BPRevo did his like that.

mkrusedc 02.16.2009 07:02 PM

My FLM hybrids with buggy diffs were expensive but did not mess with my gearing ratios that much and have been rock solid even with me driving like an idiot (standing front and back flips).

...and yes the Revo is much less expensive...so far...

hmm, i think im just gonna wait, run it with the 2200 and replace what doesnt last

Smart idea. Alot of guys broke plastic bulks and said you should upgrade them. My pastic bulks never broke. I ran them for months.

Think idlers are a must?

mkrusedc 02.17.2009 11:20 AM

It was the same thing with my idlers. I ran them on a 2200kv Neu and 4s for weeks without a problem, but I think it was just a matter of time. I changed them when I put my GroillaMax single speed tranny in. I'd say yes on the idler unless you stay brushed.

have the same truck but with a 1.5d on 4s

GOTTA get steel idlers
GOTTA lock into second
GOTTA get steel Center CVD
GOTTA get better diffs. I just spooled my rear. I snap it every 2 months....
GOTTA get 17mm

Get some LPR tires and i promise this thing will be another beast!

If your going with a brushless setup. Lock it in 2nd for sure. Otherwise you will have failure all over the driveline.
