Ya, I've been running it off and on. Actually have it apart in "project mode" right now.
I broke the Twisted Toys towers and wasn't able to find replacements, so I went back to stock with Flux shocks. I didn't like the FLM bulks either, so went back to stock on those too. I polished up the plates and have it all glossy looking. Contemplating cutting another set 1/2" longer to match the wheelbase of the XL. Also going to switch to a 1521 I have. As soon as I have a little more free time I'm planning on raiding the local skate park and videotaping it:yipi: And yours......? |
...lol...good question :)
Essentially mine is done...Losi 8ight front shocks on all corners...nice and low...about 4.6 kg RTR...must update the eye candy :) Still loving your straight chassis though...if you DO update and the 'old' one needs a home drop me a note with a quote ;) |

The lack of easy access..... Fit and finish seemed slightly subpar.... |
Made a few changes:
Went back to the CF TVPs and hand-made (in other words, not super pretty) a new center brace/motor plate combo to use the Flux mount with my 1521. The Flux mount's thickness reduces my gearing choices slightly. I wanted to use the Tekno mount (even had the holes for it in the old plate) but never got a replacement for the ill-sized one I received. http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/DSC00589.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/DSC00588.jpg Also changed to an RC8 center diff: http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/DSC00591.jpg Finally got a body painted and mounted. It's a Crowd Pleazer for a LST. It's funny, after 24 years in RC, I still can't paint for the life of me:lol: http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/DSC00594.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/DSC00593.jpg and the mandatory "my daughter's excited about daddy's toy" shot: http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/DSC00592.jpg The 1521 is definitely better suited for this than the Hacker XL. It's a heavy truck with all that battery. Can't fault the Hacker, though. It did very well and hopefully will be put to use in a custom truggy I'm planning on. |
what tires are those? do they balloon much?
|
Those are Panther slicks and no, they don't balloon much at all compared to most other tires. Last I looked I wasn't able to find a set so I consider myself lucky to have these.

Found a good use for our trash cans today and had my daughter film the resulting jump. She's not too experienced with the camera, so sorry for the poor shooting:oops: I'm still hoping to make a real video as soon as my wife and I both have a little time to make it to the skate park.

Thats something I wouldn't do is jump on the concret, a little unforgiving. Set the ramp up so that the truck will land in the yard at least ?
Video was short and sweet, nice air ! |
Metallica is the shiz. :mdr:
Favorite band by far... |
