Hyperion also claims 4x (up to 5x) longer cycle life with the G3 packs. They are superbly matched packs, and use a new nano-manufacturing technique(although not 'truly' nano tech).... if that entices you at all.

Thank for all the suggestions, I guess I will sell the Revo with either a 8XL or my Medusa. And then get a new motor and new lipos for the truggy. I will probably stick with Zippy's.

Would it be a bad idea to swap out all my 4S pack to 5S and also run my 8-B with 1512 2d/s on 5S ? (I like the idea of sharing packs between my cars)

5s on 2550Kv 1512.... it will work yah, might run a tad warm, however. That's 47,000rpm.

I'm running a 1512/3D (1700kv.) on 6s (40,000rpm), and it runs 130F at the track... and around 140F - 150F max bashing. It should be alright, not ideal, but alright.

I guess taking shorcuts will only be more expensive in the long run.

If I go with the CC 2200 motor on the 8-T would 5S be ok or is a lower kv Medusa 70 a better option ?
STUM: What ratings are your 5S Zippy's ?

stum 07.05.2009 09:16 AM

Zippy-h are 20-30c

so w/ 5k (5000*20c=100amps, 5000*30c=150amps)

On a 4s setup as these are borderline depending on your gearing, but w/ 5s (18.5v) they are perfect w/ my Neu geared for around 38-40mph. I would be cautious using any battery around this level (20c) if you are going to be doing crazy gearing go for land speed records as the sustained and burst could exceed what the battery can provide.

Any suggestion as to what motor to run in an 8-T on 5S, CC 2200 or a Medusa 70mm ?
Please also suggest what Medusa, if that is the perfered choice.

With a CC2200kv motor you won't be able to gear it low enough on 5s for usable speeds on a track, might be ok for bashing though. 1600kv Medusa is a good canidate for 5s, the 2000kv might work with a 9T pinion but I would try the 1600kv. I have run the 1600kv in my RC8T truggy on 5s and it was almost perfect on 54/17 gearing, 54/16 would have been ideal though. If you are running a 46T spur 13 or 14T pinionwould prolly be ideal on a track. However this is all just my opinion and varies greatly depending on driving style and track or bashing use

The Neu 2.5d is ideal... the best motor around on a 5s setup. You may want to look at the tekin t8 kits too..
