I think there is a lot of truth in what you said rabosi.

OK, so my take is this:
In order for ET life to have assisted all the pyramid builders all over the world (there were many on several continents over centuries) a number of extraordinary things would have had to happen: -ET life exists in our galaxy -It exists close enough they can find us -They have means to travel fast, really faster than light unless they are super close, which our current understanding of physics does not allow -->the closer they are, the more likely we should have detected them by now (radio waves, etc) -have ability to communicate w/ us, even tho we may be completely alien -They wanted to help us do silly things, (ie stack rocks) -They left w/o a trace, and have never come back OTOH, perhaps people were far more clever than we are giving them credit for. Between the two choices, the latter seems far more plausible. You know what flips my lid? The fact that we could use 60's technology to lift someone off the planet in a titanium chevy Nova strapped atop a million pound roman candle designed w/ pencils and slide rules, fly safely across the dead vacuum of space, land all the way on a moving object exactly where they wanted, land on the moon w/o crashing, joy ride around in a fraking golf cart, and turn around and come all the way home riding a flaming fireball thru the atmosphere and safely crash in the ocean. And no one sunk to the bottom nor died some horrible death they rightly tempted 10,000 times a day. That is some crazy ass shit, and we did it. Several times. |

The great thing is that people back then couldn't obsess with why some computer model told us it couldn't be done. I still find it interesting that the laws of physics states a bumble bee cannot fly, yet I see them flying around all the time without giving one thought to our laws of physics. |
I know where I'll be 12/21/2012:
http://www.drinkswap.com/images/bevfull/1264.jpg At the bottom of one of these. Anyone care to join me? If I wake up on the 22nd then this is a bunch of BS, if not then what better way to go? |
Getting all philosopholectual... cool.
I have a close connection to the date, my DOB is 12-21-72. One of the mods could verify it... anyway my take on 2012 is- bogus. That's not out of any real affinity of planet Earth either. I actually would like to see it some days... The fact that Hollywood is finally trying to capitalize on it is enough for me to write it off completely I suppose. I like what JT said earlier about there being this 'need' for humans to subject themselves to gloom and doom shit. Well I only partly agree with that. This gets back to the chicken and the egg discussion. What came first? The desire for the film "industry" to shovel crap like this down our throats? Or our supposed need for it? Seems to me the media (that does include Hollywood) does a pretty good job of always telling us what everyone else is doing, thinking about or obsessing over at any given moment. Don't bother to think for your %^&*ing selves- here, watch this crap. Just gets old, sorry. These movies are churned out, themes regurgitated from 40 years ago, and other than effects they offer about zero substance. I do almost wish the Mayans would be right, seems the only way to ever stop this wheel of mediocrity. Where will I be on my 40th birthday.. who knows. Probably talking about Finnster's 4709 prophesies:mdr: |
Comes out today, gonna go see the end of our civilization. Again.
