Haha, really? Thats quite awesome. I wonder how much he bought it for and how much he put into fixing it.

It was funny to see pretty much all the media reporting on it as the world's fastest...
It's not-
I think a lot of people believe the Veyron is still faster because its got all that unnecessary weight with the driver luxuries it has. Add to that SSC was and still is relatively unknown. Not a whole lot is known about the car and it hasn't been analyzed and inspected down to every nut and bolt like the Veyron has.

But that doesn't change the fact that they're wrong. I'm actually surprised SSC hasn't done more to promote themselves, especially in North America, considering they're American!

Is the SSC in full production yet?

You have to wonder if it was a setup. Why would someone be filming the moment it crashes? Also his business being repairing super cars it seems suss.

im betting a nice insurance scam, buy a screwed up car, get it running and wreck it LOL $1m in the pocket, the thing could have had a 1998 Mazda Miata engine in it for all they know

I doubt the guys filming the crash were part of whatever scam it might be. Their reactions (and their foolish, foolish assumptions that it was a Lambo) seem to indicate as such.

However, I cannot help but be suspicious about the other parts. He repairs expensive cars, and he, almost for no reason, drives it straight into the water. Personally, I think he bought it to fix it and ran into problems when repairing it and couldn't sell it for profit, so he decided to make money via the insurance route...
