Anyone who works to improve our options is moving in the right direction in my book. MonsterMike has a center diff setup that seems to do the trick where our concerns lie, but it has taken forever to get something in production for us. I know that there have been people asking for this unit for two years or even longer. Statements have been made that it is coming for well over a year now, but we have only seen the three or so units that were done for private sales. If you can come up with an alternative, then great. I don't know how MM will feel about the whole thing, but up to now it is an open market for sure. I do not relish the idea of having to pay $300 for one, but supply and demand will dictate that end of things. $100 - $150 sounds more in line with respect to other center diff mounts that are sold in the RCM store. So like the old WENDY'S lady used to say "WHERES THE BEEF".

Google "Chipendales" Jerry, that is where the beef is that you so desperately desire!

Sure

Thanks James, but I believe that may be the beef you desire:whistle:. I like many others are waiting on the other beef, which equates to some level of production for the center diff mount that we have been discusing for over two years now:yes:. Back on the sauce I see.

Excitement

That was Mikak (MJBE) that offerd the $300. He got harolds for that price. You should see the trucks he builds. Price is no object. He has 4 or 5 Lightnings. You won't sell one for that, and I'm sure you know it. I'm excited about this. Is Mike really serious this time... We'll see. If so, his will go between from $100-150. Now I can't decide to make my own or go with your's or Mikes. I think its great that you are going with 7075! This is good news.

Monstermike

MonsterMike says that he will start production on his original verion in a week or so, and he is planning to make a sizable production run to handle initial demands. YEeeeeeAaaaahhhh finally. Hopefully it should be priced in the $100 to $150 range.

Only if you were shooting for the 300 bones....
I'd still consider one of yours

if you build it, they will come.

I've seen Mike's and I'm holding out for his. But I think you should see your project through. For the experience and knowledge you will learn from going through having an idea and actually seeing it produced. There is some trial and error involved with where you are at, and they will be valuable lessons to learn.

An example would be the fasteners. I suggested "ears" and you said countersinking. Only by having Mike's in my hand I know there just isn't enough room there for countersinking and a suitable fastener. But you wouldn't know that until you try.

If you do see it through, one pic of it on the noob forum and sales on e-bay would move your product quite easily. $300 is crazy though. And keep in mind the $110 for mine INCLUDED driveshafts.

Keep up the killer work!

ZippyBasher 01.06.2010 01:49 AM

Me too then. Wasn't trying to bash you. Still intersted man. just not at $300.

JERRY2KONE 01.06.2010 02:08 AM

Thats the thing.

That is the thing here. When it was not out there for anyone to easily purchase maybe $300 was not crazy to some people, but if you can get something similar for $100-$150, then why? Still if you come up with an alternative with some different features or adjustments, then it may still be something that people will want, but more than likely not for more than $125 at best. Unless you make it from some exotic materials. Supply and demand come into play. The Chineese do it every day by ripping off someone elses designs, and sell for cut throat prices beating out American competitors and running them out of business.

Bottom line is that whatever you make if it is in direct competition with RCM or FastLane, then it probably is not going to fly on here.

My design is not a carbon copy of Mike's. a countersunk me screw will fit..

ASYSTEMERROR 01.06.2010 10:48 AM

I hope you guy's sort out this stuff, there are so many people waiting on a "CDMM" it's the only way to move up to the next level. people are making there own i see them all the time savage's sporting 8s and 10s setups bashin like there off that "Liquid Snake" i would love to finish my truck before May but if no one brings the "BEEF" i'll just use the flux mod and the junk brushless system @ 5s till then. After the "CDMM" I will still need a Slipperdiff for a good build so that's around 300 anyway ! This is what happends when you want something nice, unique, different, worth your time, not out the box, Totally Custom....Totally Worth it ! :rules:

let's see it then! This is why I encourage you to continue. Try your design, you'll see what I mean. Important lessons, only learned by doing. Git-r-don!
