I have been toying with the Revo conversion for quite some time. I think the drivetrain on the revo is pretty tough, but I carry the revo diff cups and CVDS in case it isn't! Dafni has a nice Revo conversion project in the works on this forum.

This conversion has to be the cleanest I've seen yet. Great work!

Nice work, rene. Very nice.

Serum, I'm very impressed with the conversion you did on the Lightning Pro, any chance you'd have some extra pieces left over to sell as a conversion kit.

patch 03.16.2005 09:52 AM

Any idea what the weight is?

patch

Serum 03.16.2005 05:38 PM

It's 5020 gram. (darn metric guys... ;)... )

including all, 16 cells, body, wheels etc.

RC-Monster Mike 03.16.2005 05:41 PM

11.2 pounds. Beefy!

Serum 03.16.2005 05:47 PM

1.1 kg of batteries, .5 kg on motor/speedo.. Not that beefy....

Pretty lightweight in my opinion..

5020 gram that's 11.04 pounds?

RC-Monster Mike 03.16.2005 06:11 PM

It isn't a tank by any means, especially considering it has 16 cells! So the truck itself weighs approx. 7.7 pounds, not counting the batteries and motor/controller.

5020 grams = 179.29 oz (28 grams per ounce) = 11.21 pounds (16 ounces per pound).
1Kg = 2.2 pounds

Serum 03.16.2005 06:24 PM

I agree, it is not a feather, but with that motor, it doesn't need to be. It even does wheelies?!?!! (centerdiff... wheelies?!!?)

My savage is 6550 gramm.. That's heavy!

:)

Megazone23 03.16.2005 07:41 PM

That sucker's gonna fly! A friend of mine, who is an aeronautical engineer, said that one of the best ways to improve the aerodynamics of a car is to get the bottom of the vehicle as smooth as possible. In fact, the designs of the bottoms of Indy cars is a very closely kept secret.

The bottom of this looks as smooth as it's gonna get. I'll be interested to hear how fast it goes.

RC-Monster Mike 03.16.2005 07:57 PM

That motor has plenty of pep to make that thing sail. I can't wait to see the videos! (there will be videos, right!?). The significance of the wheelie is pretty huge. First of all, it has a center diff, which makes it very difficult to wheelie. On top of that, it has a very long wheelbase, which makes wheelies even harder! That will be a true rc monster (pun intended!) to drive!
