when i have 15 maxxlers sitting on a table assembled we will see about!
I WILL SAY THIS AGAIN:this is just for fun!...i dont race,i just kick around my yard with my trucks! I have driven the original and it kicked ars! |
:gasp:I would have to guess that most of the people that buy this chassis would use it for a little action here and there, but mostly show. It wouldnt be anyones main truck for sure. I have a cheeper truck for the bash action!

No need to fight about it.
There is no need to bash someones idea just because you do not like or agree with their setup. Its obvious that no matter what the vehicle there are going to be haters and na sayers who will crticize its sale. If you look back over the years there have been many R/C toys that have not gone over big in the way of performance and/or design, but they still sold like hotcakes. This may or may not be the best performing vehicle available right now, but it is an inovation that is very limited in availablility. If you want it great, if not then don't purchase one. I think it will be a pretty fun vehicle to have in our collection. Just my 2 cents.

The way I see it is this:
Having the motor and diff / slipper unit mounted up front wont make the blindest bit of difference- all you are doing is shifting a few hundred grams of weight ( at most ) a few inches forwards; when you put 1.5-3 HP through the truck its still gonna pull wheelies and do standing backflips all the same... As for it not being for racing- I think the chassis will be perfectly raceable, its no weaker or worse designed than a GorillaMaxx chassis, infact its better as its narrower and has a lower center of gravity due to the transmission design; so long as 6063 or better aluminium is used Im sure it'll be a race winner- just needs a good driver  |
well put...your check is in the mil!!

All I was doing was stating the obviouse and my opinion. For $400 I would expect it to perform as should you guys. I disagree with you neil as far as the placement of the center diff and motor. Like I said before it is a nice looking setup and if it was designed a little different I would be all over it. Its not like it couldnt of been done when he was reverse engineering it. Most likely it would of cost nothing more. I would put my $179 chassi g4maxx up against the $400 maxxler chassis any day.

that is a good idea River...i will look into that for the second run...it could be moved forward a little as long as it was not be too close to the steering rack!!...i am trying to keep costs down and get the thing completed,"MY PAPPY SAID"if it aint broke dont fix it,IF IT BRAKES,get some duck tape"

Battery placement is more critical than anything else. If you put the batteries in the back and the motor up front you would have a wheely monster...

Any more pics that we can drool over plettenbergs??? Why the red or blue carbon fiber? I like black CF too! :intello: I think that selling some of my extra maxx parts to get cash for this chassis is a necessity now.

Yeah I agree with Jerry, Neil, and James. The people interested in this know what they are getting into. They don't need you to educate them River. Tons of popular trucks have similar placements. This is one of the best if not the best E-Maxx chassis available for various reasons. I would request one if I didn't just build a BL Mutant.

Everything without center diff is wheely king at these power levels.
Doesn't matter how its balanced. Forgot to say, its AWESOME |
