I'll keep watching. I like OFNA stuff. Just surprised they didn't have other trucks in hand as they discontinued the current breeds. I'd bet they'll have more out soon to fill in the gaps

Its a division of the same company I believe. Which is a distributor of Hobao & Hong Nor or something rather confusing

Cool. Always fun to wait for a new truck and see what people come up with

Hobao and Hong Nor are different manufacturers. Ofna is the distributor.

Yeah, that's what I saw. One co is chinese, one is taiwanese, ofna is a us distributor for both, then Jammin is a "performance" division built on Jammin Jay's rep. Seems to be how they get a lot of duplicate and self competing veh, like the crt.5 and teh mini St, but you go to nitrohouse to buy parts for both.

I think thats right, but is a bit of a mess. Not simple like traxxas, hpi or losi.

Whats really confusing is that the back of my hyper st manual there is a part# conversion table from hobao to ofna. The manual is written w/ the hobao #'s in the diagrams, then you have to go to the back to cross ref to the ofna # to find it. Sometimes you have to have both if you are looking for a specific part on ebay as the HK based sites may have listed as the hobao #, while US sites have it as the Ofna #.

lol!

OK, I wasn't sure how jammin fits in to it. So are they the ones regulating the standardizing of parts? I don't know how many co's are under the Ofna umbrella but it makes sense for them to make a few parts that are interchangable.

superek4 12.11.2010 08:30 AM

Jammin is marketing in US

pinkpanda3310 12.11.2010 09:14 AM

So did Hong Nor make their own US marketing company before Ofna stepped in?

chase 12.17.2010 02:46 AM

idk how its all working out but I thought HN and jammin were the same thing just different region/country names. OFNA is a distributor of Hobao and now Hong Nor. I saw Gosch back in july, he still had the x2s(as far as I could tell)
but a friend of mine pitted next to him at the Roar Nats and he had x3 protos, I love my truggy now but if they could just lighten up a little bit it would be sick

I have a x1 crt...what battery tray are you guys using and how are you mounting them

superek4 01.10.2011 08:00 PM

Either Rc monster tray or jammin conversion kit

What throttle and steering servos might one recommend for the Jammin' CRT.5 extended chassis? Need a steering servo that can hold true at high speed while cornering, but not overkill too much. If I use a low profile servo for steering can I run the regular size front brake disc? That would be preferable I think if there's one w/ enough torque.

Just picked one of these up for $145 (engine included, not sure if I'm gonna convert it just yet): http://www.rcdeal.com/modules/stores...m=1007&store=4

Thanks.

I saw that deal posted on OFNA's homepage. Looks like the engine online goes for ~$25 on ebay.
