Not the best video, but the computer chucked a fit and didn't want to allow it to work in high quality. I'll get some better video up soon.
Hyper 7e Jump Kieren |
This video is a little better. Also for the record Bundy and I managed to get to jump almost the length, and with a bit more shaping of the jump it should be able to do the whole length.

Finally go the camera to work in HD. Quality still isn't that great, but it's definitely better.

I though i'd put a quick update. It seems I cannot kill the old girl, The most damage I've done is bent the antennae tube and that's despite landing on upside down, or completely missing the down ramp with about 10m long 4m+ high air.
The CC 1512 1800 is awesome on 5s, I'm half temped to chuck the two 3s in there just for a bit of 6s fun. Plenty of power to throw the car around with ease. The trackstar is still going strong too. I thought I wrecked it the other day after it got a bit of splash from driving through a puddle by accident. I thought I saw smoke, so I shut it down immediately and proceeded to remove the case and see if it had cooked. But I only found half a ton of dirt inside the case, which I blew out, put it back together and it's been fine since. Also I found the fan would always fill up with dirt and grass so I removed it, and I don't think it's actually any warmer than before. It appears to be the exact same model fan as the one in the CC blower. I have also removed the CC blower, as the fan has packed up in it also, and I have a feeling it is blocking more air flow than it is promoting it. I haven't tested temps without it yet but I wouldn't be surprised if they go down. All in all I'm very happy with it and it's an awesome buggy just to bash on without worrying about breaking it. After coming to the belief that my trackstar had died this buggy had been sitting on the shelf for quite a while now. However I never bothered to send it in for warranty, and the other day I just tried plugging it in for the sake of it. Too my surprise it fired up. Although it didn't last long, it only fired up on 2s or 3s, but as soon as you plugged in 5s it would die. So I pulled it all apart thinking I might have a bad solder joint somewhere, or something like that. Instead I found the caps were in pretty bad shape. 2 out of the 3 were bulging at the end. So into the toolbox I went and found two dead 70amp Suppo/HK plane escs, both with 3x 370uf 35v caps on them that looked in good order. Considering the trackstar had 480uf caps on it (from memory), I didn't know if just the three smaller caps would be enough, but removed the old caps, and soldered on 3 newly donated ones in the original place on the board. It worked, the new caps fixed the 5s problem and it seemed back to normal.
As I said before though I wasn't sure if the new smaller caps would be enough, so I made a little cap bank with the remaining three with a bit of delrin sheet and soldered that on. The total of 6 smaller caps ended up giving an extra 780uf capacitance, so hopefully that should smooth out the ripple voltage a little also. http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/w...1/P1050592.jpg http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/w...1/P1050593.jpg Now apart from the new and improved ESC, the car got a new body. It's an old axial xc1 from my old rock crawler that I trimmed to fit the hyper. Fits well in my opinion and is something different from most. I've got got to make up the rear mounts and it's good to go. http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/w...1/P1050594.jpg http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/w...g?t=1323216917 http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/w...g?t=1323216932 http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/w...1/P1050597.jpg Kieren |
